Do you think there's a pro-Ukrainain bias in news of the War?

Yep, the press with some help of a certain VP who predicted that Iraqi citizens would greet US soldiers with "sweets and flowers." It's a definite bias to support Ukraine. I just don't trust western media .... Who can you believe? 🤷‍♂️
I'm a simpleton. I don't believe in anyone who's already lied to me time and time again. Is that the best way to judge any circumstance? I don't know if it is or not, but if I've got nothing else to go on then you can bet I won't be supporting them.

Westerners usually take the side of the person attacked for no reason. .....
Who might that be? If "Westerners" (the subject here is the western media) told you that Putin "attacked for no reason" is that news or propaganda? And what if someone else tells you there is a reason? Do you stick with the western word, do you revise and change your mind, or do you give it a good ponder before you make judgment?

I'm aware Putin said the Ukrainians are Nazi's, I am also aware that Putin is a liar. Frankly, I wouldn't believe anything Putin says.

There is PLENTY of proof that Azov NAZIs (yes, NAZIs) are in full operation in Ukraine and that Zelinsky supports them. There is NO PROOF of WMDs in Iraq for which 1 million innocent men, women, and children have been needlessly slaughtered and tortured. So, I appreciate the fact that you "wouldn't believe liars" but maybe you really would after all.

A friend told me she thought Putin had Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, I thought she was full of beans, however she also claimed he looked like he had FAS. So I looked it up, sure enough he does look like he had FAS. Look it up yourself.

Maybe you also believe the propaganda from Putin?

Oh, but there are some news networks that are far from pro-Ukrainian and one of their hosts is being broadcast on Russian television. This is from Newsweek.

How Russia Is Using Tucker Carlson in its Propaganda

BY PATRICIA MCKNIGHT ON 3/11/22 AT 10:11 PM EST

Clips of Fox News' Tucker Carlson have become a regular feature of Russian state TV, which portrays the television host as being pro-Russia and able to influence America's opinion of the war in Ukraine.

Carlson, a high-profile conservative commentator, is painted as America's voice of reason for questioning negative American attitudes to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"Carlson has the most popular cable TV show in the US and his opinions influence how Americans vote," RT wrote in an article on February 23. RT is a Russian state controlled international network. Last month, RT aired a Carlson monologue in which he questioned why Americans should dislike Putin.

Although state-controlled polls FOM and WCIOM show a clear majority of Russians support the war in Ukraine, support is far from universal and protests against it have been suppressed. Half of respondents aged 18 to 44 gave a negative assessment of the invasion, according to a poll conducted by Russian Field.

Carlson, along with frequent guest retired Colonel Douglas Macgregor, has been featured multiple times on Kremlin TV.

Tucker Carlson Praised on Russian TV After Criticizing Zelensky's Clothes

Tucker Carlson Amazed Zelensky 'Wasn't Thrown Out' Of Congress Over Outfit

Fox News host Tucker Carlson railed against Ukraine's president in a scathing segment on Wednesday, drawing condemnation from the left—and, apparently, adulation from the Russian media.

In a tweet on Thursday morning, BBC Monitoring journalist Francis Scarr called out Carlson over his recent remarks about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Carlson had insulted the way that Zelensky chose to dress when he visited the White House and delivered a congressional address on Wednesday.

"Fox News host Tucker Carlson is being showered with praise on Russian state TV today after he criticised of Zelensky's visit to Washington," Scarr tweeted. "So far I've heard him called 'wonderful' and 'delightful', and I'm only halfway through the show I'm watching."

I agree that the media is taking sides, but I doubt the US will allow Ukraine to be crushed. The US wants a Ukrainian victory, and they'll make sure that happens. But the US seems to be trying it's best to avoid violating the Geneva Convention and keep within the limitations of all the agreements we've signed since 1991.

The reasons I think this is because I believe the US has already earmarked funds for reparations in Ukraine, already drawn up contracts for massive reconstruction projects there and even has a list of construction companies that might get these contracts, and are already discussing locations for US military bases and villages in Ukraine.

I'm guessing Zelenskyy isn't 100% pleased with these "concessions" because he'd rather work with France and/or Germany, and wishes it was one or more of the Baltic states or Poland. He doesn't want an American Ukraine. But he doesn't have much choice; I don't think Ukraine can defeat Russia without help from the US.
Hopefully, the other European nations will wake up to the consequences of Putin succeeding in Ukraine, and will start to give the support the country needs. Ukraine is part of Europe, not the Middle East. America does not have a good record when it comes to interfering in the affairs of other countries. We want Ukraine as part of the EU, not as an annexe of America.

What MORE do think Europe should do?

... and what the US is doing right now in Ukraine will not improve Washington's "record".
We want Ukraine as part of the EU, not as an annexe of America.
When you say "we" who are you talking about?

Are you for real????
Not only is Ukraine’s leader Jewish, many of his relatives were killed by Nazis in the Holocaust.
More than 1 million Jewish Ukrainians were killed during the Holocaust

Ignoring the fact that the Holocaust happened almost 80 years ago and today is today ……. not 1945 …. the fact remains that there were Jews who collaborated with the Nazis even “back then”. Anyway, here we are in 2023 and Zelensky’s support of the Azov Nazis is clear. There are two things for you to do: (1) open a book or two. (2) Ask Zelensky, “Are you for real????”

Not me, and to be honest I don't know many. Guess it depends on where you live.
Are you?
Am I Ukrainian or Russian? My maternal Grandma fled Odessa when Ukraine was part of Russia. She considered herself Russian. The Ukrainians were Cossacks. She arrived here before 1905. She had once wanted to visit relatives in St. Petersberg, I think it was and was denied passage as Jews were not allowed to travel. She had to escape Odessa by waiting till the Cossack army was sleeping and she had to silently slouch & make her way under the legs of their horses. I can't retell this part as exciting as she did. She mostly walked, usually alone, to Hamburg to book passage here. She was 17. Sorry for the boring story, but I love to talk about her.

Anyway, the Cossacks, under a different name as @Verisure said, still live in Ukraine today.

I think Zelensky is for real. I think he is what he seems to be. He was thrust upon the stage, like his true career, and rose to the occasion. I have no reasons to doubt Zelensky's reasoning that the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Warily of course. Zelensky is using them, not joining them, and thinks he eventually will not need them anymore.

I am very worried about the fate of Zelensky. He is an idealist in my view, and comes from a place of relative innocence when it comes to ugly things. I see him as someone who accidently became a great man.

Yes, as I understand it, it was the Cossacks who were responsible for the pogroms and the Azovs are remnants/cultural offspring of them today. It is easy to miss the fine details of the fervent Ukraini Nazis that existed prior to and during WW II but they were notorious anti-Semites eager to exterminate the Jews of Europe. These Azov people would like to finish the job by either extermination or expulsion. I'm not sure which they prefer.
