Cracked corn is $20 for a 50 lb bag at the local feed/farm storeHaven't spent any yet, but when DD and I do our Walmarting today, I'm gonna spend my kids' inheritance on bird seed.
We're going to get hit hard by taxes this year, too. Not sure how much but it'll be a fair chunk and next year will be worse. (DH just filed for SS benefits against his own earnings record and will start getting that soon - when he turns 70.)I still didn't spend any $$, but I didn't leave The Hovel today, either. Meh. I moved it to savings for the April 15 IRS hit. Oh. This year it's April 17 because the 15th is on a Saturday. I get to keep my $$ for two extra days.
To be clear, we won't pay 85% of our SS in taxes, rather 85% of our SS benefits will be taxed. We'll pay a rate of about 16% -18%, I reckon.85% of your SS @StarSong...wow , that's enough to take your breath away...![]()
They really are great, I did not know they existed until I was doing some research on things to keep in the car for emergencies. I also have started keeping an extra car key in my wallet. Yes, I can't lie, I have found a way lock the keys in the car when they are not in the ignition. I never leave the purse in the car. I do not have my fob anymore so I lock it manually. I have so many talents LOL!
I locked my keys in the car twice.. and not in the ignition same as you . Got out, and got stuff out of the Boot.. having put my keys which were in my hand down on the floor of the boot first to lift the shopping or whatever it was out .. and slammed the boot door shut before realising I'd left my keys in there..They really are great, I did not know they existed until I was doing some research on things to keep in the car for emergencies. Yes, that was one of the most recent times was locking them in the trunk when I got groceries. I wear my keys on a little elastic bracelet. I had apparently caught it on a plastic grocery bag and it slipped right off in the trunk. Had to call out a locksmith for that one. I could have walked home, about a 1/2 mile to get the spares but I did not have a key to the house hidden outside. Also got a spare house key, hidden outside, just in case. I think we should start a new thread, things you have done to get out of a jam all by yourself. LOLI locked my keys in the car twice.. and not in the ignition same as you . I managed to get into my car because fortunately I'd left a window open a little enough to push it down to open the drivers door .. .. however the second time I had to call a locksmith out because my door keys are on the same bunch.. that cost me a pretty penny I can tell you, so after that I got a combination safe lock attached to the wall of my house with a spare set of keys in there..Yes, that was one of the most recent times was locking them in the trunk when I got groceries. I went cheap, house key in a tiny horseradish jar, buried somewhere in the yard. Yes, right now I know where but if my memory gets worse, I will have to come with another plan.I managed to get into my car because fortunately I'd left a window open a little enough to push it down to open the drivers door .. .. however the second time I had to call a locksmith out because my door keys are on the same bunch.. that cost me a pretty penny I can tell you, so after that I got a combination safe lock attached to the wall of my house with a spare set of keys in there..
hahaha..I'm not kidding..I did that . Buried a spare set of keys all wrapped up against the weather, put into a small tin.. and buried them in the garden behind one of the Shrubs..had to be well hidden in case of burglars. they know the old trick of hiding keys under a rock et al... wasn't until a few years later when I locked myself out and went to get the hidden keys, that I realised I'd forgotten exactly where they were. They weren't where I thought I;d buried them, and of course because I couldn't get into the house to get the barn or shed keys, I couldn't get a shovel to dig deeper.. but to this day I've never found that tin of spare keys !I went cheap, house key in a tiny horseradish jar, buried somewhere in the yard. Let's just call them time capsules for future generations. I have buried mine in a special place in the yard. I hope I don't forget. I could see how you could forget, you have a big garden! I do also have a key to the gate and the shed out back. The kid knows where they are so he can come and go at will to do the yard work. He has a key to the house so I have not told him where the spare is.hahaha..I'm not kidding..I did that . LOL...do you know the exact spot ?... should we get Blessed to post a picture ?@Blessed No worries. If you forget, we can remind you![]()
LOL. For a second. I thought you were feeding these to your stepfather.I'll give two cat a lax to my step father.
funny you should ask Jules, because a paper copy of the renewal came through the other day, which was great because it not only let me know who we were insured by, but whose name is on the policy, and it's in both names !@hollydolly Did you ever get the household insurance straightened out and into just your name? I’ve been thinking about similar possible issues with all the utilities, since many were only permitted to be in one name. There‘re other possible ownership items that could be a headache.
