What are you doing today 2023

Oh gosh, as I possibly remember, @Blessed ,
I think that yours have multiple factors in those dreadful migraines....
I hope this one goes away, faster and sooner than usual, for you!

I haven't ever been to any IKEA. I don't think we have one locally; however, they could have built one recently (most recent 20 years , that is:rolleyes:)
And I might not have seen it, or known they did. o_O:rolleyes:

The furniture looks fine in @hollydolly 's picture, though she's got a design touch that could make anything look good.
That no-handles dresser is interesting to me.
I am very curious if it would be easier or harder, for me to open them. Seems perhaps easier.

It's good to see you, @Pinky
Thank you for the compliment Kaila..😊 The no handles drawers..have a slant to the top of the drawer which is there to make it easier to open without having to have handles. However in the past on other room when I've had them here for my daughter when she was small. I added handles and it looks fine..this is not mine but this was how they looked..

They also come in various different colours from white to birch..teak.. mahogany, and black.. and so easy to upcycle. In this room you can just about see my tall glass cupboard to the left. It was just plain glass, and I added the flowered decals..

I'd never heard of IKEA until I lived in Germany. It was where I went looking for everything needed to furnish my apartment. Don't know what German apartments are like now, but back then it was "bring your own toilet, shower, tub, kitchen sink, cabinets..."
You know, with watching different shows, House Hunters International, I was surprised to see that it is a common need in a foreign country. Not only what you listed but appliances as well. Of course, not every country needs air conditioning or heat but everyone needs some type of fridge, cooktop, oven in the house. The dishwasher is a luxury and washing machines may be included in a complex. I think most places will have bathrooms that fit the needs of their population, that does not mean it is something others would accept. I do not worry, I am not going to live in a foreign country but I have always been careful to make sure the amenities I need are available when I go on vacation.

I continued with the digital purging. Deja allowed me to take a nice, uninterrupted nap in the early afternoon. Shortly after my son got home, he installed the new router from Verizon. In order to be able to send the old one back I had to fiddle with it to be able to close the box, even though it was shorter. I don't understand why things like that happen! My son and I talked while he sorted beans (for his bean soup) and I prepared two pill cases. I clipped Deja's nails while my son held her. I always give her a lickable treat when I'm doing her nails; it helps keep her still. I will ask him to assist me from now on; it was so much easier than trying to contain her when I've done it alone.

Can't believe it's 8 p.m. already! In a few minutes, I'll load and run the dishwasher. Later I'll be prepping for Deja's big day tomorrow. She's being spayed and I'm a bit anxious, although I trust her vet. I'll move the litter box into the living room late tonight and keep the bathroom door closed. There's a slight drip from my tub faucet and she drinks from there sometimes. I'll make sure she's fed by 11:40; she can't have food or water after midnight. I came across an article mentioning then started re-watching Invasion, a 2005 SciFi series. I don't remember much about it, so it's like watching a new series.

Today our adult (62 years old) son got hit by another vehicle as he grocery shopped for us. He is pretty sure our car is totaled. We are discovering one can't find a rental car in our town, and the type of car we are looking for in our budget is also hard to find. Thankfully he was not hurt that is the most important part!

Well, I got here so late that I guess it's already Wed for my UK friends.

I started my day with some hula hoop activity!! Once those hips started moving, it was downright dangerous to be anywhere near me!

After breakfast, we went into town to look at new cars. Well, I looked....and I was not impressed. I like the one that we have now, but they don't make them anymore. So, I'm determined to not like the next one, regardless of what it is. 🚗

After dinner, I went out to drag branches...again!!! Dio is done cutting, so he helped. That project is just about done.

Now I'm tired. Time for a shower, then bed. 🚿

That's horrible!!! But, as you said....no one was hurt. But still.....
😢

😁😄😆☺️
That's a good strategy for car-shopping, Trila! 👍🤩🤨🙃😁

(Seriously though, I hope you will continue to be fussy, until hopefully you will find one that you will enjoy having next!🙂)

Not really sure what my plans will be for today. When I first get up in the morning, I think I won't be able to do anything. It improves after coffee and just waking up more for the day. I always have a list and add to it or take things off it as I do them. That helps keeping me on track with what needs to be done.

If it is a decent day with some sun I really need to go to the park. Sitting out there for an hour motivates me like nothing else. I miss being in the forest but being outside helps. Maybe it is the being outside that I miss more than the forest I don't know. I need to force myself to do it at times then I am happy I did it.

Oh well there goes my planned day. Just had a text to say my visitors can't get here this morning.. don't know the reason but they say they will call me later.

Right, well it's raining, so not particularly inviting to go out anywhere... so not sure what I'll be doing with my day now...

I woke up in the middle of the night and am still awake, hours later. So I'm wondering if Wednesday will be a writeoff. Either sleeping or feeling tired.

I still might get something done though. You never know!

My only commitment to others is the trivia game tonight, so at least I'll do that.

Sometimes things don't go as we'd hoped. I guess all we can do is accept it with good humor.
