My normal crazy self, have been up all night. The dogs have been good, I have gone out with them every time to make sure there was not anything strange in the yard. There has only been one bark since last night. I think my stress got to the little terrier, he threw up in the house. Maybe he was trying to help me, I have been sick at my stomach since yesterday. I have managed to choke down some dinner rolls but nothing else. I had pulled a ribeye out of the freezer and some breakfast sausage. I had intended to have proper dinner, cook the sausage and make sausage gravy and biscuits for breakfast for a few days. I just did not have energy to cook so everything is in the fridge. Maybe I can cook tonight after I sleep. Does anyone else get physically ill from stress/worry? I feel like the only person that let's things bother me so bad I am sick to my stomach.
I'm right there with you! My stress can make me feel sick in a various ways. No appetite/upset stomach. Headache. Can't breath. Etcetera.

Feeling sick just adds to the stress.....it can't be good for us. I sympathize with you! 💖

Did the trivia game, Swiffered the bare floors. Doing the laundry.

I'll finish the laundry, talk to my language partner, and done for the day.

I have two comforter/duvets. The combination is perfect, except ... One comforter isn't washable. So I wanted a duvet cover for it.

Yesterday I got a duvet cover at the thrift store. Last night I was sweating. I switched things around a bit, and we'll see how that works out tonight.View attachment 270529
Very nice! I have the same pattern on one of my tablet covers!!! LOL

Well I decided I would do nothing today but a friend who just does not know one end of her computer from the other called with printer problems so tried to help with that.
No success over phone so will have to pay visit next week when weather is better....was not looking forward to that.

However, I did get a phone call from UK which did lift my spirits.

The story is that I met an English lady friend here a long time ago and we kept in touch over the years.
We did trips together etc., etc., and never got in each others way.
Just one of those nice comfortable friendships. Her husband, also English, had died and left her very comfortable financially .

She went back to UK when her health was giving some concern to her stepdaughter there so she decided to go back a few years ago and I did miss her a lot. We kept in touch by email for a little while but she passed over a year ago and so that was it until the stepdaughter called me today and said she had left me a little sum of money in her will.

It is not large enough to do anything crazy with but it sure will help pay for taxis when I have to let my car go which will be soon and my rent has just increased by about 60 dollars a month. So just came at the right time for me.

Just felt I had to pass this along. Sometimes life does surprise us in good ways even at this late age.

I love good karma!!! She sounds like a very special person! 💖

Here I am all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. Woke up at 3 and couldn't get back to sleep so got up and made coffee.

The rain is now predicted to start "later in the day" whatever that means compared to starting "about 10am."

There's laundry to do, my hair needs to get blued again, and there are those three senetti that want to be planted.

Last night DD and DGD got into a spat, shrieking at each other, that went on and on and on. It was so loud that I could hear it all the way over here. I won't ask, but I'm willing to bet that it was because DGD insisted that DD to drive her somewhere and DD was sick of getting in the car, out of the car, back in the car, back out of the car, to schlep DGD around yet again.

I did not do my laundry yesterday because my neighbor was moving and I did not want to spend my time waiting for the elevator. Today I will do it. Not a lot but do not want to get behind on it again. Then mainly doing routine housecleaning chores like usual.

Yesterday that woman for the aide job did not show up or call. The agency had said they would call to remind me and they did not call either. It is not like am desperate for an aide but you remember they forced it on me or they would not pay for my dental or vision.

@katlupe Geez. In the olden days...maybe three retirements ago...I was a cleaning fairy. When there was a prospective new client waiting on me I wouldn't have dreamed of not showing up. Once I accepted a new client, I wouldn't have dreamed of not showing up.

Everybody wants a job, but nobody wants to work at a job! What's with people?

Everywhere you go here there are help wanted signs. Yet we have a lot of low income people and homeless too. Nobody wants to work.

Overcast and cool today. Not planning much, just the usual housework - clean the fire, bring in more logs, chop kindling etc...
Saw notification that our Council tax was going up by 4% which is thankfully less than I expected. Council tax pays for things like road maintenance, garbage collection, maintenance of public parks etc.. In our area, we receive a combined bill that also includes the provision of water and the disposal of waste water and sewerage.

How old is DGD? I remember living in the sticks during my teens and wanting to be anywhere but home. Got a job at 16, saved my money, bought a car just before turning 17. Getting my full license at 17 was a big relief all the way around!

temp is 53deg F, no ice or snow for me....had lots of thunder
and rain overnite tho....setting here waiting for care lady to
come in at 11am to do her thing....kinda sore and tired also
today, got busy with lots of little chores yesterday aft and wore

your water bill is included in your Council Tax... ?.. and your council tax is quite low if I remember rightly.. I've got to find myself a house up there..lol

@StarSong, It's best that I don't even get started or it'll turn into a 10-page rant!

We don't live in the sticks by any stretch of the imagination.

DGD will be 23 in April.

She refuses to drive (insert whiny voice) "my anxietyyyyy!" That's a whole nuther story!

And why should she drive? There's always Mom's Taxi Service at her beck and call.

It's a beautiful day! 🌞The sun is out, and I can see about 50 daffodil flowers from my kitchen window!

Andy has been sedated, and his flea & tick medicine has been applied. Now he can find a place in the sun to sleep for the day.

Today is my "all day" day with my Mom!

So, I will be off line for the rest of the day.

Later tonight (if Mom has not worn me out too badly), I'll try to come back and read posts!

Have a great day!

Yesterday I did very little - as is typical for the day after a party. DH & I clean up the night of the party so we don't have to face it the following morning. Only needed to learn that lesson once.

I froze the remaining amaretto mousse in small containers. Granddaughter LOVED the lemon bars so I sent her home with a few - not too many or DD would give me the look. You all know the look, right?

Turns out DIL was also enamored with the lemon bars so I'll give her whatever's left when she drops off the baby tomorrow. Brownies are already in the freezer. The sweets tempt me, so I have to clear the decks of those immediately.

Turns out the dog quite likes Hawaiian chicken (who knew?) so I have a place to dispatch those leftovers. He won't care if I freeze and defrost some of them - small texture degradation won't bother him in the slightest. He only half-tastes food as he gulps it anyway. :p

Today I've got doctor appointments and lunch with a group of women friends of 35+ years standing - including one who flew into town for the party and returns home today. ❤️

The rest of my day will be devoted converting other party leftovers into usable forms that can be stored for future use. Except for the cucumbers, remaining crudites will get chopped up and made into minestrone and mostly being frozen in that form, for instance.

I feel for your daughter.

At 19, one of my twin boys had still not gotten his license because he was nervous about being behind the wheel. Had already had his permit for a couple of years.

His not driving was getting tedious for DH, DD, and me, but far more so for his brother, who did most of the ferrying. After dinner one evening, DH & I were in the kitchen, DD was studying and sons were watching TV.

I hear, "Bro, can you drive me to Target? I need some stuff."
His brother was settled on the couch and didn't much feel like going out. Says "No."
The cajoling began. After a few minutes, second son is a little steamed and says, "DUDE!!! Stop being such a baby, nut up, and get your F-ing license already!" and stormed out of the room. Needless to say, there was no Target trip that night.

DH and I nearly split a gut trying to not let our laughter be overheard.

Other son got his license within a week and has been driving ever since. Siblings call each other out on their BS in ways that parents and friends cannot.

It's too bad there isn't a sibling to um, motivate her.

After shower, exercise, and lunch, I'll clear the snow off the car. If that doesn't wear me out, I'll go to the library.

The duvet cover made me sweat again. I guess I'll take it back to the thrift store. (But not today. They accept donations on certain days only.)

Recycle center is closed on Mondays. Hmm. Maybe I should go out another day instead of today?
