It just feels so cold here today.. I've now got 3 layers on. I've been watching the Murdough trial.. it's got so gory, at one point I thought Murdough was going to puke!

My knees are playing up like BIlly-O today... just one of those days I suppose.. hope I'm not sickening for something

Did the trivia game, Swiffered the bare floors. Doing the laundry.

I'll finish the laundry, talk to my language partner, and done for the day.

I have two comforter/duvets. The combination is perfect, except ... One comforter isn't washable. So I wanted a duvet cover for it.

Yesterday I got a duvet cover at the thrift store. Last night I was sweating. I switched things around a bit, and we'll see how that works out tonight.View attachment 270529
I love that cover!

It's a beautiful day! 🌞The sun is out, and I can see about 50 daffodil flowers from my kitchen window!

Andy has been sedated, and his flea & tick medicine has been applied. Now he can find a place in the sun to sleep for the day.

Today is my "all day" day with my Mom!

So, I will be off line for the rest of the day.

Later tonight (if Mom has not worn me out too badly), I'll try to come back and read posts!

Have a great day!

That’s so AWESOME ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ ENJOY your MOM DAY.

A large-ish storm has been forecast for the northeast where I am. My son will come over after his work (near my house) and move my car up to the empty lot where I have permission to put it to get it out of the plough's way.

Otherwise, I would have to park it in our fire lane when the plough blows it's horn and stay with it until our parking lot is clear. If I drove it up to the empty lot myself, the walk back would be extremely painful. I've done it, but my son is happy to help. Thank goodness.

I am about to finally do some laundry and have steamed some carrots for Doggie. I had to buy 2 lbs. when I only needed one, so a few are going her way.

Honestly, it doesn't look stormy at all. It's sunny and 37F.

I have the Murdaugh trial on, but not really riveted to it. Weird, how he started calling Maggie "Mags" and Paul "Pau-Pau".

On my early walk this morning went halfway down the street, temp was around 28 there was no wind, was refreshing
After breakfast I walked 6 blocks needed to go to the bank, then walked over to grocery store Price Right. I was only going to buy a couple items which turned into couple more. The bag was a bit heavy so I took the bus home, got back within 45 min
The rest of my day was going to go for another walk but got distracted doing paper work After lunch was goiong to take a short walk but the winds started to pick up got cloudy

Made myself take a walk, since it was bright and sunny and it’s not windy. Also, got to the dollar store. Later have to put on a wash, because I’m out of socks; seems like I’m down to six pairs. They’ve been getting holes. I’d just buy some if I could find the style in my size. Other than Walmart, I don’t know of any other stores locally where I can buy kid’s socks.

Will walk again this afternoon with DH. He’s recuperating from a procedure, so we don’t go far.

According to Alex's brothers testimony. Everyone called Paul.. ''Pau-Pau''.. even the children ..nieces and nephews.. it was his nickname from when he was a child.. The only time he wasn't called it was in work..

Saturday, I received a check in the mail from my Life insurance company.
Along with it was a nice letter informing me that, after checking their records, they had overcharged me
on my policy.
The premium is automatically paid from my retirement, so I guess I didn't notice the small increase over the year.

The amount is enough to cover a nice meal out for the wife and I, so we'll head out later tonight.
I realize that they have to clear their books and have to return the overcharge to me, but still a nice surprise.

(Thinking Los Palmas Restaurante, great food, service and maybe a Margarita...)

@katlupe
That is extremely annoying, disappointing and frustrating, that the person did not show up, nor did they or the agency call you. Again!!!
Uggggggghhhhhh!
The agency called me this morning and she apologized for the person not showing up. She said it has been a problem not only with their agencies but other ones as well. She had another woman on the phone and sent her over here today for me to interview her. So I accepted her and will see how she does. They always say the right things when they want the job so I will not make judgement till she has worked for me for a month at least.

...or maybe use another agency Kat ?... :)

What does it mean to fold laundry ?.. I'm not being obtuse seriously.. doesn't that mean it doesn't get ironed ? :p
Can't say I even own clothing that gets ironed except for very dressy items and they go to the cleaners.

To me, "folding" the clothes means pairing socks, folding towels, hanging whatever needs hanging, etc., and putting like items together.

It's shorthand for the step of removing clothes from the dryer or rack and getting them ready to be put away.

Rainy again today, but there's supposed to be a break for a few hours, then it'll start up again this evening, taper off overnight and begin again tomorrow afternoon through Weds morning. Happy that the reservoirs are filling, but admit to missing our typical beautiful winter weather, which is usually not wintry at all!

Just been up a little while. I am not saying I will get it done but that clogged kitchen sink wants attention. Want to unload the dishwasher so I can fill it with dirty dishes. Want to cook that ribeye I took out of the freezer a couple of days ago. Want to cook up some things for the next few days.

I have clean laundry, it is folded but still wants to be put away.

Note, want lots of things but I don't need to do anything. That is the nice part about retirement I don't have the need to listen to my wants.

So grateful my mom taught me how to iron properly and how to sew.
If there is ironing to be done in our house, I'm your guy.
Remember her putting a thing on an empty coke bottle filled with water as she ironed. (before steam irons)
I learned how to cut out a 'pattern' that she would get from the 5 and dime.
Taught me how to think about how things go together and helped me later in life working with machines.
