What are you doing today 2023

I don't think I have anything that needs to be ironed, either, but just in case, I still have an iron and an ironing board.
I rarely buy anything for day to day wear that needs ironing .. because everything goes in the dryer and comes out not needing an iron. I do however have to iron all my nice clothes because they're high end expensive materials which always need an iron when they're used..

All that said.. I iron tea towels and bedding..pillowcases , duvet covers etc.. whenever I wash them.

I did get most of my laundry done today. I dried it in the dryers and brought it upstairs to fold and put away. Earlier I walked with my friend so even though I did not make it out to the dumpster it did not matter. At least I got some exercise. Right now this is the best I can do. Tomorrow I will take a star day and on Thursday finish the laundry which is towels and bedding.

Made chicken thighs (with crunchy skin) and broccoli for supper. Kitchen all cleaned up now. I hate night. I try to get everything done so I can go to sleep and it will be morning soon.

Made myself take a walk, since it was bright and sunny and it’s not windy. Also, got to the dollar store. Later have to put on a wash, because I’m out of socks; seems like I’m down to six pairs. They’ve been getting holes. I’d just buy some if I could find the style in my size. Other than Walmart, I don’t know of any other stores locally where I can buy kid’s socks.

Will walk again this afternoon with DH. He’s recuperating from a procedure, so we don’t go far.
Sounds like you have small feet…..I do too…..I always buy knee socks, then just roll them down if I need to…..but…..ladies adult socks are actually too big, can’t find black knee socks in kids size……BUT…..REMEMBER…..I HATE wearing socks, only when going away, when I come home……OFF they go…..always also just buy black socks.

So grateful my mom taught me how to iron properly and how to sew.
If there is ironing to be done in our house, I'm your guy.
Remember her putting a thing on an empty coke bottle filled with water as she ironed. (before steam irons)
I learned how to cut out a 'pattern' that she would get from the 5 and dime.
Taught me how to think about how things go together and helped me later in life working with machines.
When I was in High School we had elective classes. The girls could take Home Economics and the boys could take Bachelor Ed. This is where they learned how to do basic things like sew on a button, or cook an egg, etc. I never took Home Economics (I learned from my Mom), but I always thought that Bachelor Ed was a great idea for the guys! Those who took that class were prepared to fend for themselves in collage, or when they moved out on their own!

Your mother was smart to teach you these things!!

Side note: my Mom's sprinkle bottle said Sprite on it! 😁

Well I will give an update. I did unload the dishwasher and then loaded it with things in the sink.
I did cook the sausage, make gravy and cook the biscuits for the next few breakfast meals. I did boil the little gold potatos and put them in a butter sauce. I have the ribeye ready to go into a pan.

I did try to clear the stopped up one side of the kitchen sink. Nope the easy way did not work. That means I have to get under there and take things apart. Don't have the energy to tackle it tonight. As we all know it is easy to get down but very hard to get up after you have been under the kitchen sink in cramped quarters.

The dogs have been good all day, it is like they know Mr. Cranky behind us does not want to hear barking. The funny thing is the hound dogs next door are not aware. They were out howling for a good part of the day. They wanted my dogs to come out to play, so they just kept howling because I kept mine in. If mine needed to go potty, I went out with them with a bag of treats. They came right in with the shake of the bag. I hope he is happy, he could have had about five minutes of barking but he chose hours of howling. I think today he learned I am not the only neighbor with dogs. He just wants to blame me, my pups.

That's when I woke, too... were you banging pots & pans around and woke me??!! 🤭 Actually that's kind of late for me and it felt great... I'd been popping awake betwee 2:30 and 3 for quite a while now. 3:30 felt like sleeping in! @hawkdon

Well, my catch up on sleep, from lack of Sunday nite…..didn’t happen yesterday…..so I was very tired by the time last nites’ sleep came around…..slept well.
Today, garbage bin to the curb and already picked up, have all the pet bed covers in washing now……grocery thing, pick up mail this morning, ironing the last of my alterations on pants, have the big box my drying racks came in to break down, ready for recycle pick up tomorrow.
Doing a second sort through things I did in the fall.
Sun is shining again today……hope to get out for some rays of vitamin D.

Rained overnight and it's a bit dull and damp today. Went shopping and contrary to the gloom and doom news about fruit and vegetable shortages, there was no sign of that here. We were able to get all the groceries that we wanted between ASDA. Lidl and Tesco.

Got to pack the shopping away and make a fish pie for dinner.
As I said to another Scottish poster, the problem seems to be concentrated here in England..

sun was out,so i mowed the lawn, its full of moss,,gonna scarify this a/noon,if rain stays away
I have a lot of moss too, growing mainly on the grass around the Barn.. but also out front. I do have a scarifier, but I've never used it..estranged O/H was always the one to use it.. How easy is it to use , *M* ?

We had major blizzard yesterday so my planned trip to help computer friend was cancelled.
Highways are clear but roads still messy

So Today thought I should get a load of laundry done but just get email from management ..emergency water shutdown at 9am so no laundry.

Scurry around filling pots and pans with water , rushed a sponge bath, brushed teeth again and thought ...
....Okay....this is my chip and TV day....but....I have no chips.. 😭😭
How could I let my chip supply get so low. I tell ya, I am losing it for sure when that happens.nodding.gif

I might flick the duster around and tidy up a cupboard or two.

Laters.....

Yes, I wake up around 2 or 3 many mornings, some mornings I get up and start my day, this morning I started a movie and fell asleep in my recliner..lol.
.....anyway, it's trash day here so I'll get a little exercise walking back and forth to the road.

Yesterday's doctor appointments took longer than expected, but my GFs ordered my lunch (a delicious chicken-free Chinese chicken salad) so it was on the table when I arrived. Twas lovely to see them twice in three days!

Didn't get to everything I'd planned yesterday. Life happened and other things took priority. Minestrone didn't get made but is high on this morning's list. As is business invoicing that I didn't get to last week because of party prep.

Wednesday afternoon is Zoom night with a different group of GFs. Many are three hours ahead on the east coast, so it's an evening Zoom for them.

Rain again today, but that's supposed to be the end of it for another week. So Cal has been uncharacteristically cold and rainy this winter. It's a drag to live with but the big upside is that our lakes and reservoir levels have gotten much-needed boosts.

I'll be lurking here off and on today. Baby grandson days have shifted from Tues thru Thurs to Weds thru Fri.

It's truly back to winter, here.❄️❄️❄️❄️
What a sight, out the window. But the wild birds are still out there too, and they do show up very well against the white background.
And it always helps my day, when I see any of them!

I had trouble doing every thing I tried to attempt, yesterday, so after napping didn't help, either,
I tried just simple coloring with colored pencils, in the evening, was able to hold them, and it was relaxing. Whew!
Just used shades of blue and purple, for water. Ahhh.....relaxing.

An amusing little incident from this morning's shopping spree. We were in Lidl and I was taking some tin of tomatoes from the shelf and I asked Mrs. L how many tins we needed. No reply, she had wandered off to another part of the aisle. I said "Talking to myself again" at which an elderly woman, apparently with her husband, leaned over and said "I know exactly what you mean".
