What have you bought recently?

That's quite a price Jules. Here of course depending on where we shop we can pay a £1,000 for a face cloth if we've a mind to.. but I use a lot of face cloths, so I don't like to pay much for them, and the ones I've got now cost just 80p each and they're really nice quality.. even the Bamboo wash mitts are only £1.80 for the pair.. and that's not in the discount store either..
Yes it is. And that’s at Walmart. If I went to a specialty store, they’d be much more.

The stores put bath towels on sale and then make the profit from the add ons.

Hello All, Well we have wanted a new living room set for a while... Carl our Pup passed away on January 16th... and he had a sick smell for a while... So we waited... So we bought a nice couch and two nice chairs that Lorie picked the material for. So that will be here the first of April, they have to make it and all, it's coming from Lazyboy. While at Lazyboy we also bought a new two-seated recliner couch with cup holders, power, and usb connections and the head pillow goes up and down also... we bought that for the theatre room I built. We got that couch 2 weeks ago, and works perfectly for the theatre room.

Hi Mike, nice to see you again.:) Sorry to hear about your beloved pup Carl passing over the Rainbow bridge...

I want to get new sofas.. I'm tired of looking at new ones, and not being able to make my mind up..

There's actually nothing wrong with the ones I already have.. they're large , leather, and look like brand new after 10 or more years.. but I'm trying to make over the whole house and erase bad memories.. . but dya think I can find a sofa that I really like.. naaaa...

In the USA I see so many beautiful sofas for sale, and so cheap compared to here. WE tend to get very plain sofas.. and very expensive..not lovely colours and styles that I see in the homes of my US friends.. and in the stores.

Holly I saw on TV ads some of our sofas now contain Wi-fi and Surround Sound! And, you can build onto them and change their shapes & enlarge the whole thing! We sure love our sofas & TVs in the US! 😄

Thank you @hollydolly for your thoughts... Is there not a Lazyboy where YOU live... They are very expensive but last for a lifetime... I bought Lorie a recliner from them shortly after our car accident 14 years ago, and that chair looks as good as the day we bought it. and that is with dogs laying in it, and our cat... It cost us $12,000 for the two couches and 2 chairs. But I know they'll be there in perfect condition to the day I die... I don't know if they are over there or not, but very worthwhile to check it out...

Oh yes we have Lazyboys here... that's not what I'm looking for however.

I already have leather couches.. I'm looking for a complete change to something different.. :D

We didn't buy leather, they don't just carry leather, you should go and just have a peak... I wanted Leather, But Lorie is not a big fan of them, cold in the winter, and hot and sticky in the summer... You might be surprised if YOU went and looked... the two sets we bought, are not leather...:)

This is what's available here.. I don't like any of them...

£1,000 for a face cloth!! Surely not!

I have the microfibre ones which are very soft and dry very quickly. I can't remember how much they cost but they came from New Look's sale so weren't expensive:)

I'm not saying I've seen them at a thousand pounds..I'm saying that doubtless it's possible to buy one for that price.. somewhere...

I get mine in Asda... and Dunelm..

So, grab the beverage of your choice and settle down because I am going to tell you a story.

Are you sitting comfortably? Good, because we are about to travel back to the summer of 2019 when I did something I had never done before, I bought a pair of trainers from Marks & Spencers!

I spotted them in the window display, went to the shoe section but, did they have my size? No, they didn't! In fact, when an assistant checked their system, they didn't have any left, absolutely sold out, except. one pair which happened to be my size and should have been in this very branch! The assistant checked the shoe section, then she disappeared into the stock room and checked every nook and cranny but , nope! She came back shaking her head "They are definitely not here, it's possible they were stolen, it happens sometimes". But, wait! I saw a pair in the window display!

Five minutes later, we were standing in the womenswear section staring at a mannequin in the window and, on it's feet were the missing trainers! Without hesitation, the assistant rolled up her sleeves, clambered into the window display, wrestled the mannequin to the ground, removed the trainers, checked the size and then waved them at me triumphantly "We found them!"

Were the trainers worth the drama? Absolutely. I loved the drama and the trainers ❤️

Hold on tight because, we're now hurtling towards an unseasonably warm and sunny day in February and the year 2023. Are you with me?

It happened again! A glance in Marks & Spencer's window and there they were, the exact style and colour of trainers I had been looking for but this time, they had one pair of 4 1/2's, tried them on and they fitted but, then I spotted a flaw; a tiny scrape of fabric peeled away on the tongue just where the laces stopped  It just wasn't to be, I wanted a perfect pair and that tiny mark would irritate me every time I wore them. 😭

A few days ago, on a very chilly late February day, I popped into Marks and, just on the off chance, I checked the shoe section but, no joy. I got my food bits and was just leaving the store when I remembered the palaver on that balmy summer day two years ago when perseverance triumphed. I turned round, marched through the womenswear section checking the mannequins' feet and, guess what! there were rows of trainers on the shelves below the displays. Without the help of my 2019 assistant, I strode round and checked every pair of trainers until I came to the very last pair, I flipped them over! Yes! a size 5 and they fitted with my trainer socks!

So, the moral of the story my dear forum peeps is never give up and, of course, everyone lived happily ever after. 😊 ;)

I was just pondering whether it was too late to get into the very expensive face flannel market 😊;)

Mainly because I have a few in the wardrobe so don't really need another pair but, when I see a pair I like, I just want them regardless and, I do a lot of walking so wear trainers a lot (well, that's my excuse anyway) :) I like the variety of different colours you have, mine are mostly white.
