With your busy day, it does seem challenging to find time for a few bites of a pastry!. Somewhere in between those calls, I managed to have a piece of the cheese danish I'd been wanting for a few weeks

Anything that it is, often sounds like a much larger and/or more numerous critters, than are actually there. It may be likely mice or maybe a bird, touring the inside walls..
What a wonderful day you two have planned! Several years ago my sister and nieces went to a tea house in the next town. It was an elegant experience. A walk by the water is always nice. I hope you get a chance to do it. Enjoy your time together.Today I am going to be spending the day with my daughter. We will be having lunch at a Tea place and then in the evening going out to a cafe where they play music and will have drinks and dinner. We also may walk around this one nearby town that has water if the wind calms down. If not we will stay at her home and chat.
My BFF knows I usually get up before sunrise. She calls when she does her walk and before she hits the pool. Even if I wasn't up I'd take the call because of her incredibly busy schedule. She's in "Hell Week"... intense rehearsals with the cast members of the musical she's playing for and she's busy with that well into the evenings.

I am glad you didn't get injured or cut by it.I was sitting up here in my little office room when suddenly I heard an almighty crash. I sat up.. what was that ?... I thought maybe it was next door because they are the only house here with children, and all my windows were open and they were outside .. but then I thought it was too loud for it to have been them, so I tentatively got up, looked around, couldn't see anything glanced downstairs to see if anything had fallen in the foyer.. nope... so I go downstairs, and my kitchen clock which was on a hook above the door frame had fallen to the floor and smashed to pieces on the tiles..
It seems what had happened was that the clock was hung on a Command hook, and the hook had come unstuck from the wall and brought the clock down with it.. There was glass everywhere.. The clock wasn't heavy so it was a surprise the hook came unstuck, but all the more lucky that I could have been walking through that door at any time when that clock fell down so I escaped potentially getting a nasty cut..
Wow. They advertise those hooks as being so strong.hung on a Command hook, and the hook had come unstuck from the wall and brought the clock down with it..
exactly Jules, which is why I felt it would be secure enough to hold the clock. It had only been up there maybe about 5 or 6 weeks..Wow. They advertise those hooks as being so strong.
..believe me Carla, so am I... it would have been my kinda luck..lolI am glad you didn't get injured or cut by it.
Be careful with the cleanup...believe me Carla, so am I... it would have been my kinda luck..lol
yes I've already swept it all up, but you're right...glass is a devil for breaking into tiny shards and not being seen. I vac'd all the kitchen even under the fridge in the hope that I've got it all.. just gotta remember not to walk in there in bare feet..Be careful with the cleanup.
Right.Wow. They advertise those hooks as being so strong.
lol..fortunately it hasn't left any damage on my painted brick wall...Right.
And now that we are fully reassured that you did not get hurt, @hollydolly
we could joke that:
The command hook is so strong, that it didn't take just the clock off the wall;
it pulled down the entire wall with it!
Would that angle, help them to sell more?![]()
Perhaps try to think of it the other way, Holly.?..believe me Carla, so am I... it would have been my kinda luck..lol
And not the floor either?lol..fortunately it hasn't left any damage on my painted brick wall...![]()
That was the next question I was going to ask, did the hook leave a big hole when it came out?lol..fortunately it hasn't left any damage on my painted brick wall...![]()
No.. we have brick and masonry walls here so a command hook won't leave any damage..That was the next question I was going to ask, did the hook leave a big hole when it came out?
That is great to have a good sturdy wall.No.. we have brick and masonry walls here so a command hook won't leave any damage..![]()
Lovely theatre.. we have no theatres near us, nearest is the city... but there's a beautiful little Vintage one at Berkhamsted which I keep telling myself I must go toToday went with a BANG! We went to the Tivoli theatre in Aberdeen to see the "Ministry of Science live" show. The Tivoli is a small theatre built in 1872. In it's heyday it hosted such stars as Charlie Chaplin, Stan Laurel and W.C. Fields. In later years its popularity declined and if fell into disrepair. It was totally renovated some years ago and restored to its former glory. It now hosts mainly musical and comedy acts as well as a range of One man / woman shows.

The show itself was great fun. It told about various famous scientists and their inventions complete with demonstrations - some of them VERY noisy. Have you heard a balloon filled with a mix of oxygen and hydrogen being lit! Of course there were a lot of children - some really liked it and some bored - but the adults loved it!
