This morning went on my early walk around 6:30 went halfway down the street
After breakfast walked to bus stop went to Walgreens. As I about to walk into the store ran into one of my ex co-worker from the local hosptial, Jamie. He's a pharmacist, told me he retired in Aug'22 after 41 yrs. He worked the night shift 11pm-7am,said its 'been an adjustment for me'. I told him when I retired in 2011 it took me 6-8 months to get up at 5:30am on the days I had to be at work He looked well& seemed happy
My mid morning walk 2 times around apt complex, after lunch went to local convient store to get some milk
After dinner, tackle NYT crossword puzzle then watch TV show' Ghosts' at 8:30 on CBS

We have some bad storms rolling in. I woke with migraine that comes from air pressure. I am sick to my stomach. Sure, this comes on the day I was able to get to the donut shop. Guess most of that will end up in the freezer for future treats.

I can't think of eating but I know I will feel better if a choke down a piece or two of toast. Once I do that, I can take some medicine.

Sue..I think I might have asked you this before but I can't remember .. but how far is a block on average.. in yards.. and how far is 1/2 way down your street ?

I did get to the grocery store. Got lots of snacks, gallon of milk, some thin cut round steak. The round steak will be made into what I call Swiss steak, others might call it pepper steak. Feeling lazy not wanting to cook at all, I picked up some Bob Evans mashed potatoes. That is a splurge, I can cook my own just don't want to.

Since I have not the energy or desire to cook right now. I went and reviewed frozen dinners. They are very expensive now. I did not see any that seemed worth the costs. Does anyone out there eat frozen meals and what would you say are good. I hate to spend the money and then just throw it out.

@hollydolly made me want donuts. They had Krispy Kreme in 6 or 12 count boxes. I grabbed a 6 count. There was no price listed. They came up as 7.50 for that box. Heck to the no! That is ridiculous. I can go to my favorite donut shop and pick from all kinds of specialty pastries for that cost. My problem is I am always asleep when they are open. What is a girl to do LOL!

I did speak to a human today. The conversation "Cash or Card", "Card" "Register 8"
I have a very busy social life as you can see.
You reminded me, back in the days when I bought beef, I made pepper steak from time to time. I'd be happy as a clam if I never had another steak again in life. Funny you should ask about frozen dinners. I bought Marie Callender's Chicken Teriyaki Bowl so I could have a quick lunch. It was "meh" so I won't buy it again. I would've enjoyed her chicken pot pie better. Both have too much sodium though. Right now I'm enjoying Royal Asia spring rolls, gotten at a great price from Costco. I intend to keep buying them. I also keep Pasta Prima spinach, mozzarella ravioli in the freezer, also from Costco. You have to add your own sauce and I add a little extra shredded mozzarella.

Whenever I can I also buy Michael Angelo's eggplant parm. Sometimes Costco sells it (only when they have it on sale) otherwise when I go to Walmart, I pick one up. Walmart sells a smaller size than Costco but I can get 4 servings out of it. Last time I bought it I think it was $8.39 but that was months ago. I look at it like this...it winds up being way cheaper than ordering from a restaurant. Like you I don't feel like cooking (and with me it's most of the time) and and since I don't know what I want to eat one half the time, I turn to prepared meals sometimes.

I am trying to get my cooking back on schedule. I should be in there making the swiss/pepper steak. It is not hard and freezes well. I normally have a variety of home cooked meals in the freezer but I have used them up.

I like the chicken pot pie but I know I can make it better and cheaper. I do keep ravioli, spinach ricotta, it is expensive but is not something I can make at home. I just boil that, then add a garlic butter sauce. Quick and easy. I just need to get off my lazy behind and get it done, get the freezer restocked, shut down my pity party LOL!!

I made crock pot chili over the weekend. I couldn't freeze any of it because my freezer was full at the time. Sometimes I made broccoli salad with a variety of different fixings according to what's available. And sometimes I have breakfast for dinner. :p I've been meaning to make my broccoli-seafood stir fry (using imitation crab meat) for the past couple of weeks but laziness and procrastination have won. I think by the time we reach our ages, we deserve to allow ourselves to be lazy sometimes.

Today I am keeping a secret from my husband. His cell phone broke and he is very upset because he had a picture on it that he took the first time my daughter voted. He and I were working the polls that day and he took her picture. Of course, he doesn't remember he gave me a copy of it and I am not telling him!LOLView attachment 271252
How special! You'll be giving him back a treasured memory that he thought he'd lost forever

I don't use the VA for medical care but I've got to be there at 8:00 this morning for my annual checkup......good to know that it's available if I should ever decide to use it down the road.

Edit; It took about 45 mins and I'm already back home.......near as they can tell all is well.

pain in low back.....brought it on myself I guess, by stretching
up to fix that shower rod/curtain business...took a pain pill
but don't know how that will help really, so heat pad, massager,
and that is it.....somehow got to fix breakfast...think I'll splurge
on food delivery tonite, dang this getting old is a "pain" !!!
Have a great day all......;)

Woke up from a very short nite, again…..2nd time in the last two weeks…..go to bed, tired, sleepy, and surprise, after a short time…..WIDE AWAKE. 😕.
Dragging my butt…..but…..I’ve got set things to do today, just might take longer.
A nice -5c this morning.
Spring is coming. 😊😃😁.

Oh drat! I'm sorry to hear the shower curtain ended up giving you pain. :(
Food delivery sounds great. As for me, I already did a load of laundry, made hard boiled eggs *and* turned some into egg salad, and did some cleaning, so I think the rest of the day will be down-time. Should pay the taxes, but.... after all, tomorrow is another day. Signed, Scarlett Kate 🤭 @hawkdon

It's dry, but cold and windy here. Hung a lot of washing out to dry and hopefully it will. Rather than using a tumble drier which uses a lot of power, we use a dehumidifier to dry clothes when necessary. It's more economical.
Listened to Ken Bruce's last radio show on the BBC this morning. An absolute legend in broadcasting, he's off to join "Greatest hits radio" and taking with him the daily 'Popmaster' quiz, which was a feature of his programmes. He will be back "on air" in early April.

Going to make chicken and spinach lasagne for dinner.

I'm so sorry you're not sleeping well, @MickaC . :( I know how miserable that is.
I think -5c is about my 23f... brrrrr! Here it's 32, so a little warmer but not balmy yet. ☀️
I *do* hear spring birds this morning, though! 🐦

It poured buckets last night. Just as I was heading for bed, there was a "pop", and the power went out. (Great.....no heat!!) I called the the Electric Company right away, and then went to bed. The power came back on around 1a.m. Needless to say, I didn't sleep very well!

It was still pouring when I got up this morning. Good thing for me, Friday's are always "take it easy" days. I'm not planning on doing much today. I've been wanting to bake a cake (just a box mix), so I'll probably do that. Other than that,
emoticon

I hope everyone enjoys their day! 😘
