morning folks......32deg F now...going to start raining later
this afternoon, then tonite change over to snow, so will be
a mess tomorrow...just finished bowl of cheerio's....didn't
feel like cooking breakfast today....wore out from working around the home and just plain old and tired...ah well...have
a great day folks......:D

Well come on then!! I know I just love the lemon filled. You are a fine one to talk.....I am off to bake the croissants, I just made some blueberry scones. You have been making me crazy with all that talk.
It's coming up to my mealtime now, I'm imagining those scones and my belly is starting to rumble. 😊

aww, thats a nice gesture timoc....will you get afters as well LOL
Blushing.......🤭

I'm sure I don't know what you mean, Charry. 😊

Have at least 3 tons of Laundry, plus blankets I've been avoiding. Will try to get to first ton today. Try, I said try. Hopefully I'll get lucky & get the machines I need. I never in my life had my own washing machine/dryer. Those of you who do, take time to realize how great that is, how convenient and safe.

Finished 3 days of work, now taking care of loose ends before I head back home. I think this new gig is going to work out well…. A couple 2-3 day stints of work a couple times a month— you can do anything for three days, knowing at the end you are back to retirement living, right?

@Georgiagranny, if I could figure out a way to fax myself to Hotlanta, I’d come and keep you company on your days off 😆

Drove down to Morrisons today and came away having spent loads more than planned. No real shortages, but most prices are creeping up.
Petrol, however, was down a bit to 142.7p / ltr.
Next to Lidl where they were supposed to have French beer and cider, but didn't. Did a slight detour home via. another Lidl, but they didn't have any either. They did, however, have Greenall's gin a lot cheaper than Tesco, so I bought a bottle. I prefer it to Gordon's gin.

Weather is dry, but cold. I'm cooking lamb chops with roasted vegetables and couscous for dinner.
Prices aren't creeping up.. they're LEAPING up... Morrisons' is actually one of the worst offenders along with Asda... even Aldi have put prices up hugely on Basics. For example the Litre tetra packs of Skimmed milk was 50p until a few months ago then it was increased to 55p.. no probems about that.. still almost half the price of the same milk at Sainsbury... but within a very short time ( weeks).. it had increased to 95p.. and this has been reflected in most things in Aldi...especially basics, and Deli items.. in fact making it hardly cheaper than the Big 3 or 4 Supermarkets .

@CinnamonSugar I am not really fond of Indian food but I will check and see what else they carry in their line. Thanks

Back when I really needed some, I didn't end up finding any prepped dinners, that were okay for me at all.

I hope you do find a few, but for me, it was worth making up some simple ones for the freezer, at the moments and the day when able to, rather than the over-priced and not-good-to-eat ones for sale.
Or you might go with other simple foods, instead, such as canned salmon or sardines or fish, and a canned veggie. Or canned beans.
Rinsing some of those things, lowers the excessive salt.

I am glad to hear that job seems like it will work well enough, for you.
I will find a way to get myself a fax machine and number, if you manage to figure that out! (y)
Great idea!🤩☺️🥳

I agree that cooking and freezing batches is better than buying commercially prepared dinners of dubious quality. Simple bulk meat recipes abound. Learn a few shortcuts (for example, I never chop onions or peppers any more; I use peri-peri sauce instead). You can easily make "baked" potatoes in the microwave. Etc.

Okay, it looks like I'm not over the winter blahs yet. It's noon and I haven't done anything. I think I'll skip lunch and get on with it:

45 minutes of exercise
Make a big batch of egg salad to last several days
Read a bit of Schopenhauer 🙄
Eat supper (some homemade food from the freezer!)

Today is a possible laundry day. I'll see if I have enough to make a load.

Tonight I'll talk to my long-distance language partner. Then read in bed.

The only thing I found you have to watch with preparing meals ahead and portioning out is if you’re making something like an Indian dish with lots of spices, it’s not uncommon for the spices to get hotter or stronger in the freezer so he just have to be careful of that

I was scheduled for surgery this morning. Been off my medicines as directed, no breakfast and coffee..
Doctor called and had an emergency so put off until Monday..Not happy at all about this.
Sorry for the delay…..I would not be a happy camper either.

I just did a load of laundry...... now in drier for 45 minutes so will head over to coffee shop.

I was just thinking that this time last year I was in the midst of the thumb saga....the first surgery, troubles, appointments , referrals bleh bleh bleh. ..positive nightmare it was!
At this date last year I did not even have a date for the amputation surgery which finally happened in April.bandage.jpg
Can't believe how the time flies.
Jeez that means I am a year Older:ROFLMAO:

Okay off for coffee and I do have a donut just presented to me by my next door neighbour.

It's pouring down rain, but I feel much better after having been out and about (or in my Canuck accent "oot and aboot") and home again jiggety jig.

And so very, very grateful to have somewhere to go and something to do tomorrow.
