Just down the road from where I am today! Covenant Christian private school, pre K - 6th grade.

Female teenage shooter…have you ever???? Three school personnel and 3 youngsters confirmed dead. Shooter dead on scene.

One of Paige’s friends who’s a nurse at Vanderbilt children’s hospital said there were 16 kids brought in, and that there are more dead than the official count so far.
The news reports and texts from friends are just heartbreaking! 🥺💔
 

Ah, I was trying to remember who in the forum is from Nashville when I heard this... it was you, @Ronni ! This is so very heartbreaking. :cry:

I know losses like this ripple through the entire community and my heart goes out to your area. Usually happens that everyone knows *someone* who was involved.

The first school shooting I knew about was the Cleveland Elementary School, (San Diego CA) shooting in '79 , The shooter was Brenda Spencer--female teenage shooter. I remember where I was and who I was with when the news came over the radio. The only details I remembered were that it was a teenage girl who said she did it because she didn't like Mondays. Was easy to look up the rest of the details as it later was the subject of a song by that title, I Don't Like Mondays.
 
OMG I've just read it.. it was an infants church school... 😭 3 little children dead..

This is a very sad situation. School shootings are right at the top of the list when it comes to sad situations. It’s very rare for a female to commit such an act, but if we learn the motive, it may explain how this all came about. I still remember the one I dealt with in the Amish community. Carrying small dead bodies out of the little schoolhouse to place in a hearse and ambulance is something that never leaves my mind.

I have to congratulate the police department on their response and action time. Good job, men.
 
Now they're saying a former student. Who apparently carried a grudge for over 10 years. Same people might not even be there 10 years later.

Yes they didn't wait an hour while the shooting continued. 129 mass shootings this year and it isn't even April yet!
 
This is an elementary school and mass cowardly killer was a 28 year old ex student so 15 years later she returns for revenge on the school or individuals? Did she herself have children there?
 
This is heartbreaking, and my heart goes out to the families. My daughter teaches an autistic boy at school now. It is the same school her daughter goes to. I wish she could teach her daughter from home.
 
What is it with spring and mass school shootings. I think it started with Columbine but the second half of the school year seems when many of these killers strike.

Police said she identified as transgender, and online profiles show Audrey used 'he/him' pronouns.

At around 10.13am, she opened fire at The Covenant School, shooting and killing nine-year-old Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs and William Kinney.

Substitute teacher Cynthia Peak, 61, head of school Katherine Koonce, 60, and custodian Mike Hill, 61, were also killed.

It's unclear what Hale's motive was, but police believe she attended the school at some point. She had detailed, drawn maps of the school and had been surveilling it, according to police.

'We have a manifesto, we have some writings. We have a map drawn out of how this was all going to take place,' Nashville Police John Chief Drake said.

Mapped out after surveillance. Heard the mass cowardly killer Hale came in through a sidedoor like Uvalde. With kids that age one would figure they have them locked just to prevent a pedo or a spouse in a dispute from taking their kid. Regardless it's the act of a cowardly killer.
