What have you bought recently?

That does look chic Holly, any chance of seeing you model it? Tell you what, I wasn't going to say, it could come across as boasting, but I have an appointment with my tailor tomorrow. I'm hoping that he can reproduce a rather appealing, that's appealing to me, 1930's style suit. As you were, jacket. Just the suit jacket, blazer style. When it's finished I will pose in it, but only if you show us yourself in the M&S linen top. What do you say? Here's my (future jacket/blazer.)

LOL...I get a feeling MR HC you will pose in that regardless of whether I put the blouse on or not.... , I'm sure it's going to be very smart...(y)

I should have added that the reason the cleaning lady recommended buying the carpet cleaner is because I eat an awful lot of popcorn. I eat a big bag within 3 days constantly. Because of that, I leave little white pieces of the popcorn all over the house. Every morning, I take my manual sweeper and run it over the carpeting and rugs. Works well, but using a robot will work better.

I was just thinking about this sweeper yesterday. My grandmother had one at her house that she used. Many moons ago...
Are they still available for purchase?

Oh come on dear lady, give this geriatric poseur the excuse he needs. You probably know that the tailoring capital of the world is Savile Row in London's Mayfair. My tailor has a second studio, less than an hour's drive from where I live, it's in Sandbanks, Dorset. The properties there are so expensive that the area has often been dubbed: "Mayfair-on-Sea!" My appointment is at twelve noon. He's working on Good Friday, I guess when he submits my invoice he might say: "It's good any day!"

Yes, they are still available. The one that I ordered has a remote control and even returns itself to the docking station to be recharged. Here is one similar to the cleaner I have coming. There are several choices out there to choose from.

I found a great deal on an EGO Battery-Powered Lawnmower. I've never owned a lawnmower before. In winter, after rain, my back yard has weeds that quickly get 4 - 6 feet high. I was previously using a string trimmer, but it took 4 days to complete the yard, which is 1/2 acre & it's too much for this old man.
I love this mower. It runs 60 minutes on a charge, it's self propelled & it's MORE powerful than a gas mower.
And, I got the floor model & it was $300.00 off.

Saw they were on sale at Costco.
They were in my new flyer. All their products had $$$ off the purchase price.

Looks like a good one!

Nice mower, Win ^^^

I've had the same mower for many years probably 10 years . It's cordless and I would never return to a corded mower.. a petrol one is too heavy for me.

This one I have has been brilliant and never let me down, but a couple of days I go I got it out , and the mechanism to raise and lower the cutting height is stuck on... it's at number 5 out of 6 heights.. which was fine the other day for the first cut of the year, but it's too high for most cuts for the rest of the year.I've tried everything including oiling it.. and brute force, but it just won't come undone. .. so I've been looking for a new one.. and I'm 😲😲 at just how much they've risen in price..

It'd be a shame to have to buy a whole new mower.....can you find anyone to help you w/the stuck mechanism?
A neighbor, handyman?

I didn't spend any money today, but...I gave DD money to get me a Mega Millions ticket for tonight because I was running late at work and needed to clock out and get out...otherwise, I'd have clocked out and got my ticket at the store.

So. I didn't spend any money. DD is gonna spend it for me:rolleyes:

Only last Tuesday my good old reliable Simpson Washing Machine died on me. When I rang the local retailer and asked about buying a new one, the salesman asked how old was it, and I replied 17 years. That was a pretty good innings. Well I settled for a Westinghouse which was delivered the very next day, I just have to get used to the new machine.

I knocked over our LED flatscreen TV a few weeks ago . It wasn't too bad, just left a small blob and 2 thin streaks in the upper right corner, but the streaks thickened over time.

So anyway, I got a new one today. It's a Roku TV, so we're gonna have to log into all our premium channels, but c'est la guerre. I downloaded some free channels we didn't already have, so that's cool.

The house that we live in was previously the property of a premiership footballer.
The fitting went well, the tailor commented on my weight loss. Lent, I explained.
Here's a preview,
half belt jacket - Copy.jpghalf belt jacket - Copy (2).jpgfabric red stripe - Copy - Copy.jpg
I shall have two side vents, the tailor is only making the jacket, my wife has made a sandy gold pair of baggy trousers and wait until you see the outrageous fabric that has bought to make the waistcoat/vest.
