The colorful flowers of Carlsbad, California

Here are some pics of the flower fields in Carlsbad, CA, a coastal town about 30 miles north of San Diego. There are acres and acres of flowers which are a blaze of color this time of year. They raise mainly ranunculus, a cabbage-like flower related to roses, but also foxglove, tulips, roses and other flowers. If you're ever in San Diego County from mid-March through mid-May, be sure to check it out!

The flowers are absolutely beautiful Glinda, and you look just as lovely....thanks for posting, I love looking at flowers. :love_heart:

Glinda you look adorable. I know Carlsbad well, it's where my Granddaughter and Grandson both have homes. I've seen the flowers many times in my 46 years living in San Diego. Did I mention how cute you look?

What a lovely day you must have had! Sunshine, beautiful flowers.....a day of perfection! Thanks for sharing the photos Glinda. You looked like you were enjoying your day!

Thank you all for your very kind words. I try to go see the flowers every spring. Usually it's a cool and breezy day, maybe even overcast. The day these pics were taken was hot as all git out and, while I was enjoying the flowers, I was also thinking, "I need an ice cold beer!" Just give me flowers and beer and I'm happy. :flowers::cheers:
And chocolate! :chocolate:

Will you marry me? ;) Pretty pictures. Thanks for posting.

I had a fun but exhausting day yesterday at the Earth Day celebration so last night I hoped to get more sleep than usual. No such luck. Got up with some little aches and pains this morning, looked in the mirror and saw my grandmother staring back at me. Granny looked very tired. Shuffled into the kitchen, got some tea, and settled down with my laptop to check what's up on SF. Oh, my. You guys are so nice. :love_heart: I'm so glad I joined SF. Thank you for making my day!
:thankyou:

Wait a minute...there were flowers in those pictures?
