What are you doing today 2023

It's already prettier this year in spite of the weeds. which are getting dug up and disposed of little by little. Lots of them met their maker this morning before it got too hot to work outside. Unfortunately, by the time I've done the whole garden, they'll have started up again...

Yeah. It's big, much bigger than it appears in the picture.

LOL rent it out for weddings...where they get married and leave!

..by now I'm wanting out of this hospital, I'd already been there hours.. and I had never encountered anything like this in an A&E dept, ..read about it in some hospitals, saw documentaries on it on TV... never witnessed it ever... I was actually shaken up... this was within feet of me..

so I decided I would go home.. so I went over and told the nursing Sister that I was leaving and so she got me in to have X-rays and bloods immediately... that was about 7.30pm...

....so they said I have a mild case of Pneumonia.. and gave me antibiotics intravenously for about 20 minutes.. and then sent me home with a prescription for doxycycline.. and the usual instructions on treating it as tho' it were a bad case of flu... ( this is the 3rd time now I've had pneumonia ) ECG was fine and BP was as it should be which is good... which is bloody surprising given all that had happened during today.. starting off with that company and my DD who tok £80 out of my account and still haven't rung back... to this 2 hospital visit... and this fighting.. and the long waits.. but what really put the whole tin lid on it for me today.. was when I got into the hospital multi storey car park, and just driving into a space.. a car reversed right into the front of me (SMASH)

he got out of his car and I said ''you've just reversed into me '' !!!.. he said he didn't see me, but I was tooting you loudly I said.. and he said... ''Oh I wondered where that tooting was coming from''. ...so help me I could have hit him... what a complete twonk.. not only not looking in his mirror while reversing, but ''totally oblivious to someone behind him tooting their horn''..

so this has been the day of Hell today... !

Thank you for all your best wishes... I wish I'd never got up this morning tbh..:(
My dear, dear HD...what a day you had. I am so sorry. I hope that this is the last of any drama and illness for you for at least the rest of the year. I honestly pray that your recovery continues and you're soon back to 100%. Sending you hugs and all good wishes from across the pond.

I didn't figure it out. This one was just a happy accident. Picture was taken from an upstairs bedroom window. The picket fence encloses the patio area. DD had it put in to keep her dog from digging in the garden.
SO, so beautiful!!!

Collected new lawnmower, all set up with fuel and oil. Starts first time and cuts beautifully. Hopefully I'll get the garden cut this morning and see how manoeuvrable the mower is around the fruit trees.

Then it's time to pack bags as we're off to the Lake district for a week. We had planned to go to Gdansk (Poland), but our younger daughter and OH said they were renting a house in the Lake district and would like us to share it with them. We don't see them often enough (except by Zoom) as they live in the English Midlands, near the Peak District.

For those who don't know the Lake District, it's an area of mountains and lakes in N.W. England. There are 16 major lakes (plus many smaller ones), although only one is called a 'Lake' (Bassenthwaite lake). The others are mainly 'Water' or 'Mere' such as Conniston Water or Windermere. I was always intrigued by the area which was the setting of the "Swallows and Amazons" books. We first visited the area in 1972 and it was much quieter then. It has now become a victim of its own success and is usually crowded. At least, since it is a National Park, it is protected and remains unspoiled by building.

I really wish we had something like this closer to my home. I realise 20 miles isn't far to get into London, but it's impossible to drive in due to the level of traffic, and the congestion charge , and travelling by train and tube at night isn't much fun tbh and quite intimidating for a lady on her own .. even during the day, it's quite tiring to have to travel first to the train station, then train , then tube, sometimes 3 but usually 2.. changes depending which part of London ..it's such a faff just to travel 20 miles..

Katlupe, what do they inspect? Sounds kind of intrusive on your private living space.
Well, not really. They are inspecting for bedbugs and if they find any the bug guy will be here Monday. One apartment gets them usually many others follow. Not sure about mine since I have 2 little bites on my leg and made me wonder if I had them. If I got them I want them to find them so I can get rid of them before they get bad.

So far so good today! son is on his flight to Phoenix. In Phoenix they connect to San Jose where my daughter and I will pick them up.
Since airport is in San Jose my daughter wants to go early so we can stop at her favorite mall..ugh!
Then after we get them we are heading straight to Carmel to do lunch and touristy stuff.
Then after that we have 6:00 Pm dinner reservations at Country Club.
A very long day but an oh so joyous one for me.
Can you tell how much I miss my son, Lol?
