What are you doing today 2023

I saw the lawn care people at a hotel had a long saw attachment and just went along the hedges like butter. It reached some tall hedges too.
I'd love to have one of those.
Nice if you to offer your trimmer to him. At least maybe he'll take the hint and buy one.
I actually thought exactly that when he didn't come and borrow my long reach last summer( I have a short reach and long reach both cordless).. I thought that he would take the opportunity and buy a ling reach this year, s I was very surprised to see him still using his normal corded hedge trimmer.. ( not even a long reach)... this morning.. . Honestly my heart was in my mouth..

Still getting over being sick. This is the best I have felt in a week. I am making chicken soup this morning though I could have used it a week ago but could not do much cooking. Catching up on some housework mainly.
that's a long time for a cold, Kat... pleased you're feeling better today..

Long-time “Independent” seldom gives in to receiving help or advice. He probably feels less and less control as his body ages and changes, so the things he feels he *can* still do, he will hang into with fierce tenacity.

yes, I thought that too, because altho' his body is letting him down in some ways, he's still as mentally active as when he first moved here as Police officer about 30 years ago.. but ya know, no-one would take the job from him..I just wanted to lend him my cordless to make the job easier.. and less dangerous for him...

I've just been out moving heavy items around the barn to make more space. Also raked up all the laurel hedging which I trimmed yesterday.. I would never usually leave it overnight to clear up.. altho' no-one but me can see it in my garden.. but my back was hurting and I knew it wasn't going to rain..so I left it.. It's a huge hedge which we planted a few years ago... about 30 feet high.. and the whole width of the back garden , so it has to be done in stages..but I manage to keep it looking good if I say so myself..

Also just printed off a return label for a dress I bought which is too long... I could have it taken up.. but the proportions are all wrong.

@hollydolly You could wander past his house and comment that you still have your trimmer. Or you could walk over with it and ask if he wants to try it. Some people won’t ask, even if offered previously. I know this about my husband.

I am waiting today for them to install my clear caption phone I can't wait because it will really help me and my hubby. It's amazing that there is no cost for it. Then today my DIL has invited us to dinner for my grandson's birthday.I can't wait to see him. He is an amazing young man. How I miss the days when I watched him and his younger brother every day.

I am , disgustingly, still in my n'gown and housecoat at 12.30pm EST time.
Not quite sure what I want to do.
Feeling 'lethargic' ( best word I can think of without complaining)

Now I am reading about all you busy peeps doing this and that and I do have to do a library visit so I should get my hind quarters in gear and get going as it is a holiday weekend coming up and will pick up some necessary food items like eggs etc.

Oh just a little tip I picked up as a substitute for egg. I had a box cake mix but no egg for it so google says mashed banana which I did not
want and this one which worked very well..
For those of you who did not know......
Quote
Vinegar and baking soda
This substitution works best for cakes, cupcakes, and quick breads. Mixing 1 teaspoon (7 grams) of baking soda with 1 tablespoon (15 grams) of vinegar can replace 1 egg in most recipes. This combination works especially well in baked goods that are meant to be light and airy.

Bye for now pen.gif

Waiting for DS and his husband to get here with enchiladas and guacamole. I'm so hungry that I could chew the @zz out of a rag doll. He just texted and said to heat up the oven. Woohoo!

Later this afternoon maybe DD will take me to the garden center.

yes I did think about doing that too... and then this afternoon.. another neighbour who is friendly with him, was out trimming his hedge too.. he has a cordless trimmer.. and I felt sure that the second neighbour would have also mentioned it to the first..

Had am MRI scan, I hated it. The machine makes alarming noises and it's hard to stay still for nearly half an hour, as my joints ache.
But my throat and chest must be checked out as it's been months I have been unwell.
I have had probably 10 MRI scans including CT.. they don't bother me at all.. I keep my eyes closed so I don't freak out with claustrophobia.. but otherwise I'm fine.. some last only a few minutes.. the 45 minute one I had a few months ago felt interminable because before I went into the machine the radiographer said it would only last 10 minutes... so lying there thinking..jeez this is a heckava long 10 mins wasn't very nice..

Hope they get to the bottom of your pain

You can think the first George Bush. He made the Caption phones available under the American Disabilities Act.

Well, the Dr appt I had today was a callback from my May 8th mamogram. I haven't had one of those since I had breast cancer 18 yrs ago.
All the scenarios ran through my head all week.
However, it was clear!!! I made them tell me three times.
I was so excited I threw my jacket in the laundry bin and started to take the hospital gown home. 😁

I'll keep ya company, @Mizmo ... I can't seem to get moving today and it's the middle of the afternoon! We all need those days sometimes. There's an old PA Dutch saying: "My get up and go got up and went." 🤭 (Although in my own defense, I *did* do laundry, pay some bills, and make hard boiled eggs earlier today. :giggle: )
