This is escalating and will keep happening because no one can do anything...right?!!

No one thinks nothing can be done but what plans are differs ........
i read the links
#1 Chicago 2 of the 3 items were drive bys and also 2 were after 1 am at night..... drive by often have a motive (payback) or if random perhaps a gang initiation type thing......this was an average weekend for Chicago who has very strict gun laws .....laws only work if enforced not after the fact.

#2 Kansas night club after midnight...... my guess equals drinking maybe drugs and some basic argument and someone pulled out a weapon....... my question is why were they even carrying in that type of environment... where tempers can escalate over almost anything. insults or hitting on a date etc not a great place for anyone to carry any weapon in.

#3 Philadelphia random shooting carried out by suspect who seems to being dealing with a real mental health crisis.....

#4 Fort worth .... parking lot crowd hanging out after some parade etc.... late night is what was said .......again how much did alcohol play ? and how is large gatherings in parking lots not equal loitering......

Details matter in trying to discuss solutions to shootings........... but all we hear is it is the guns fault .........running around with out a hand on trigger?
look at WHO is behind a gun.....a person with false bravado .... a person who felt disenfranchised ..... a person on substances .... a person with no conscience or moral compass.......

We have escalating divisiveness in this country ........add any mind altering substance and zero thought of consequences.......before tragedy happens often late at night ...equals many bad things...

In my former neighborhood here, gang member's preferred day for settling scores with rival gangs is the 4th of July.
Actually, the whole week is prime what with ka-pows and ka-booms going on non-stop every night starting around June 25th, and police turning off all the ordinance detectors.

good point with fireworks a gunshot could go unnoticed for a while.

what action do people think HONESTLY work......... they do NOT enforce laws on books now so adding more is just pretending to do things.......
Criminals by definition do NOT follow laws ........ mental health is not being addressed neither i substance abuse items........
Numbers and stats with out Context or details just make it an unending discussion......

Time to take action? If not now, then when?
340 mass shootings in 185 days? These should be extraordinary events, not almost two per day.

Add in the number of domestic violence deaths and suicides by firearms and the picture only gets worse.

Time to take action? If not now, then when?
They ARE taking action. People are buying MORE guns for those ā€˜bad’ people who are usually them.🤪

OH NO! RIP... What a sad world we live in, where people of that kind, can't think of PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE. Darn it!!!

I'll check YouTube to get updates. Thanks for letting us know

Here's the suspect who has been arrested for the shooting in Philadelphia.

EXCLUSIVE: Cross-dressing gunman behind July 4 Philly bloodbath that left five dead is BLM supporter who made chilling Facebook posts about 'black massacres' and 'evil spirits'

The Philadelphia gunman who left five dead has been unmasked as a cross-dressing Black Lives Matter supporter who made chilling Facebook posts about 'evil spirits.'

Kimbrady Carriker, 40, shot dead four men and a 15-year-old boy in the Kingsessing neighborhood on the eve of the Fourth of July.

He is now in custody and facing multiple murder charges after rampaging through the streets with an AR-15, a handgun and wearing a ballistic vest.

The killer has now been revealed to be a computer nerd who was obsessed by firearms - even posting video a few days ago of children at a gun range.

Facebook posts from March 2022 show Carriker dressed as a woman, wearing a bra, hooped earrings and gold bracelets.

He had posted eerie articles to Facebook titled: 'How do you know if an evil spirit is following you,' as well as a photo of a map listing historic 'black massacres' throughout the US with the caption stating: 'We kept the receipts.'

Police: Florissant man charged after mass shooting injures 9 at Kansas nightclub

A shooting in a Kansas nightclub early Sunday morning left seven people with gunshot wounds and two more people hospitalized after being trampled in a rush for the exits, police said.

Wichita Police Lt. Aaron Moses said investigators believe several shooters opened fire inside the City Nightz club just before 1 a.m. One suspect was in custody as of Sunday morning, Moses said.

Of those suspects, police say Brandon Young, 31, of Florissant was one of the assailants. He was charged with two counts of aggravated battery.

I think one of the big reasons for the shootings, is the lack of family. Not easy to correct.

For real, Patty. And it isn't funny.

There are 2.5 million burglaries annually in the US.
66% of those are Home Invasions.

Here's just a few home invasions caught on ring-cam or a home security system.
Viewer discretion advised, mainly because some of these victims had children at home, traumatized forever by 'bad people.' And they simply do not care about you or your freakin' kids.

Police solve only 13% of these 2.5-mil cases because, as you saw in the video, masks, hoodies, and baggie clothes hide the perp's identities.

I'm just a normal, average person, but I had to face this situation once. If I had not owned and used my firearm, I don't doubt my girlfriend and I would have gone through hell. Well, she probably would have. I'd have probably been too dead to notice.

Whose laughing? I don’t find anything funny about this in the least.

We don't have enough police to be all the places they need to be to protect citizens. This was already a problem before the 2020 summer riots and the Defund the Police movement. Since then the situation is critical in many cities. After all why should a cop risk his life trying to protect a populace that doesn't value him by paying him what he's worth and a media that does nothing but denigrate him. He shouldn't. He quits and moves to a PD that will appreciate him or changes his career. Many Americans understand that their protection is really up to them. Others may figure that out when it's too late.

Here's something I would like to know. Everyone is always ready to criticize America over guns and individual Americans for wanting to keep their right to self protection. Everyone is eager to talk about gun control but the minute someone posts the face behind the gun, as I did in this thread for two of the recent shootings, no one has a word to say about the shooter. Why not?

Is there no curiosity at all as to why those two suspects would be a killer? Or what to do about them? Or what needs changing in the court system to keep criminals off the streets? Is it the gun, only the gun and the shooter gets a pass?

Thought you were making light of it with this guy > 🤪

Yeah, criminals are out of control. And I agree, gun control isn't going to solve the problem. Reform in the justice system is needed (among other things). 10 years shouldn't mean 8 months, and "plea deals" should be abolished.
Not a chance. I’m disgusted with the behaviour. I don’t have a solution and am not sure purchasing a gun to protect yourself is it. The main point being ā€˜I’m not sure!’

I was glad I had my firearm with me when I needed it.

There are solutions to the problem of crime but they're not popular; they don't get gov't officials elected.

I read in the Tampa newspaper this morning that July 4 & 5 are the busiest days for shooters shooting people. I guess many people use their gun as fireworks. I think it comes down to this. Too many people have no respect for weapons and do not understand their capabilities. Just because you aim at an object doesn't guarantee that's where the bullet is going. A simple .22 can travel over a mile when used to make noise.

I am near Tampa and Route 60 is a long causeway named the Courtney Campbell Causeway. It splits the Tampa Bay between Old Tampa Bay and Tampa Bay. Along the causeway are a few parks that sit between the causeway and the Bay. At one of the parks, an argument erupted between a couple of wave-runner drivers and park goers about the wave-runners getting to close to the kids in the water. Someone pulled a gun and started shooting. A Grandpa grabbed his 7 year old grandson and was pulling him into his truck when a stray bullet hit Grandpa in the hand and the 7 year old in the head killing him. Talk about being upset. I was ready to kick some tail. Talk about senseless and stupidity, there you have it wrapped up into one person.

Please keep in mind that gun laws in America are very different than the rest of the world so those in other countries can’t possibly relate to what’s going on. We don’t have the same attitude or viewpoints that you are all accustomed to. It’s understandable that there’s going to be some friction due to this alone and since it IS an international website, there IS going to be opposing views.

Yes indeed, I've heard them all. And I do understand them. I mean, I understand that it seems like one problem with one simple solution. But that just isn't the case. We're not just a bunch of gunslingin' cowboys over here, we're mostly decent people who are being victimized by an endless supply of sociopaths daily. Daily.

And we can't rely on police. An armed officer can be at your home in anywhere from 4 to 20 minutes on average, depending on where you live. It takes a hyped-up, coked-up, meth-tweaking psycho, who's nervous as hell, 2 seconds to shoot your face off. Or shoot your kid, and then shoot your face off.

Because HE has a gun. And he's extremely motivated.
