As
@Pepper mentioned "NextDoor" and someone getting a new kitten, I'll talk of what I went through recently.
NEXTDOOR FORUM
I had heard hubby mentioning it almost 7 years ago. Never found his login info to cancel account after he died in 2022. I decided to join but regretted it almost immediately as it's more a place to offer services and/or sell things.
My problem with them was with the username. After nearly 6 months, apparently username was wrong, account was blocked, blah, blah, blah. I've found out about all this palava on the day I was going into account to delete account.
So, since account was already cancelled by them, I didn't raise anything with them and never found out what was wrong with the username I'd input on registration. End of story, good conclusion lol!
KITTEN GALORE, MINOR INCIDENT, NOW BLISSFUL!
Back in 2012, I had two dogs. A Sheltie and a Yorkie. Sheltie was first to die at nearly 14 years old. Fortnight later, Yorkie passed away at nearly 16 years old. Buried both, twas very sad as we'd have them both since they'd been 8 weeks old.
In back garden, on fence, a Calico cat showed up. Starring intently at me, straight through my soul. Heard the message, time for a cat. Knowing that I knew more about cats then dogs, we decided to get two kittens.
One Tuxedo cat at 10 months old, sold off due to a family divorce. He was gorgeous with a cuddling and quiet disposition. One 9 months old Ginger Tabby (which turned out to be ferral, found behind the flat building garbage areas, his siblings dead after being abandoned / we found this out 10 years after we had him, unfortunately!).
Needless to say, neither got along with the other. One morning, after our son had died, a mega battle ensued between the two cats and I was injured badly, left bleeding, they jumped on me after I woke up. Nice reception for all the love we'd given them for 7 years.
I managed, while spilling blood on the floors, to separate both of them into the kitchen and living room. Then, attended to my wounds and called hubby and daughter while out shopping.
They came home quickly and we decided to relocate the worst one first. That was completed soon, thankfully! Hubby decided to keep the Taby and get him to behave better. It didn't go well... Everything was covered in cat's spray (which stinks like you can't imagine, unless you've experienced it) and urine everywhere.
After hubby died in April 2022, the cats behaviour went from bad to worse. Everything stank, ruined, other items we were able to wash and desinfect. Managed to get help from someone to relocate the cat.
Three months later, daughter and I decided to look for our own kitten. Gumtree was very useful, we found our 8 weeks old baby kitten, examined how he'd been raised from birth and luckily met the kitten's cat mum. We never looked back and this past 13 July, he's reached his first birthday. Just an adorable furball that's so loving and such a good boy, a pleasure to have this wee companion to fill our lonely days. Thanks for reading!
