@hollydolly When a bridge is built between the US and UK so that I can drive to visit you (I don't fly), let's go to M&S. I lovvvvvve that store!

I'm home and another dollar richer💵;)

Sir was very ill today and barfed in the trash can! Don't know why he didn't stay home. Transferred Lady and I are both off tomorrow. Wut wo. I told him to let me know if he can't work tomorrow, and I'll go in. Maria can't because it would put her over 40 hours, a no-no.

It's too hot to do anything in the garden so I guess I'm sentenced to murder shows on TV and solitaire for the rest of the day.

Might get in troubles with @Georgiagranny but this M&S website exists for purchases within the USA. Please don't shoot the messenger, just trying to help 😳

@Supernatural I don't wanna shop online. I wanna go into the actual brick & mortar store so I can see and touch stuff. Maybe even buy stuff.
Okay @Georgiagranny not a problem, well not really, BUT never say never.

Closer at hand and without flying, you can travel to Ontario province in Canada and you can visit brick and mortar shop at Marks and Sparks aka M&S in North York, Ontario, Canada.

Hoping this helps meanwhile...🙃

Today I had an eye appointment. The sight in my right eye is failing. I've worn glasses for decades, but I knew something was going seriously bad in my right eye. Today's appointment confirmed it. I need cataract surgery (which is a minor surgery, as I understand it). But that's the least of it, since there has been a sudden change, they're looking for reasons. The answer is - diabetes. Type 2. My father suffered terribly from diabetes, and is hastened his death.

I'm sad my right eye is pretty much blind. I'm sad I've got "pre-diabetes". I'm happy this isn't totally in my mind.

Went to the heart doctor today,, am doing well.
Just change my meds around,

On the way to doctor , told hubby we are really early for my appointment.
So we stopped bought strawberries , tomatoes & cauliflower.
I couldn't resist getting some flowers for flower bed.

Coming home told him we've never been in that furniture store, so we stopped .
I found a chair I couldn't live with out.:)
They will call when it will be delivered.

Today, I am very lethargic because of the heat! I can't read, watch TV or even play games on my PC! So I am firing off post after post on this Forum instead! Forgive me! Oh, did I mention that I hate summer! If I should ever move again it will be an apartment with AC! Come on, mid-September! That's when I am coming alive again!

Tomorrow have an appointment for brake service on my 2007 Forester but today brought the car down to a rare automotive steam cleaning service I've used a few times over the decades that cost $140 for just the engine. Next week will bring the car in to the dealer for major periodic servicing so wanted my engine clean before they had to work on it. Below is before and above after. High pressure 100 psi steam does an amazing job. This spring had driven a few dozen miles on very dusty roads that was on top of a few years of oily grime.

Dear me. DGD is at a hospital as we speak to have her gall bladder removed. Two good things about that: it's likely just an overnight stay and she'll be pain free when the soreness is gone in a day or two, and her deductible has been met for 2023 so it won't cost a dime.

If it had been done this morning, she'd be home now, but this late in the day probably means staying overnight.

Then DS called to tell me that their very old kitty, Fred, is sick. Fred is 18. Poor Fred. This is the second time in just a couple of months that he's been under the weather. He doesn't feel up to meowing, just squeaks a little. He's still drinking water and nibbling a bit at his food, but DS says it's clear that he's going downhill fast:cry:

@hollydolly DGD is only 23. Doc told her a couple of weeks ago that it would have to be done "soon." She also has fatty liver disease and non-alcoholic cirrhosis. If i were to hazard a wild guess, I'd say that her fast-food/junk food diet has something to do with it. JMHO. I'm not a doctor and never played one on TV, though.

Add to that fibromyalgia and I forget what else.

DS is by broken-hearted over Fred. I am, too💔

Welp, I am here, but barelly, had bad sleep nite, nitghmares, leg cramps, foot
cramps...wow, plus I could not stay either warm enough or cool enough...wow....
today have very sore left leg, who know why....not doing anything, but waiting
on new tv delivery....will slide the box inside and just leave it, as I'm not up
for installing anything today...gripe gripe......:cautious:
I'm so sorry you are having such a rough time! Do you and can you take potassium. I used to suffer with foot cramps that would literally stop me in my tracks if I was out and about. I started taking potassium daily and rarely have them now. If I do, they are very mild and go away without me doing anything.

To get a restful sleep...try this. Breathe in very deeply and slowly through your nose. Then breathe out slowly through your mouth. Repeat a few times. When I used to do it, I'd be lying still and I felt my fingers tingle. That's when I knew I was about to fall asleep. It was always a restful sleep. I also used the method to help me feel rested if I wasn't going to be able to sleep as many hours as I normally did. It worked for that too.
I don't know if that method will be enough to circumvent the possible psychological reason for your nightmares, but I highly recommend you give it a try.

Is this a new TV to replace the one you had trouble with, or an additional TV?

I just re-started my pottasium/calcium/magnesium pillls cuz I just ]thought
of them today after some cramping....I usually have good sleep, but when
I'm aggravated like I've been for couple days, that usually prevents peaceful
sleep.....thanks Diva.....

I had a busy morning. I had been up since 11 p.m. I ate something, sorted laundry and pinned a skirt I want my honorary daughter to "hem" for me. She has some sort of device that she doesn't actually have to hem in the traditional sense. I"m not sure whether or not it's attached to her sewing machine. I went downstairs and put in a double load. I usually wait until around 7 a.m. to start drying the clothes but I dried the skirt so I could give it to her when she picked me up, which she did at 5:15.

She took me to the mountain where we watched the sunrise. We rode around the mountain and I saw the spot where my family used to cook out when I was a girl. Then we went to another park she loves where she takes her walks. She decided not to walk this morning after we returned from a short jaunt down to the pond, where I heard bullfrogs, but missed seeing them when they jumped into the pond. We had to walk up hill to get back to the car. I don't do hills well. So by the time we got to the empty parking lot that serves as a track, I only did 5 laps, which was a mile and a quarter. When she brought me home, we sat in the car and talked for about a half hour.

When I got in, I ate, then started drying the clothes. As usual, I put away the ones that get hung. I'll put the towels and other things away tomorrow. To dry a double load in my dryer, I have to load it twice. I wound up napping in between each of the cycles and after hanging up the clothes. Before I knew it, it was after 5 p.m. I ate a snack and came here to respond to some posts. Now it's time for another snack (don't feel like making a full dinner) after which I'll load the dishwasher. I didn't watch much TV today but will watch a couple of things on my tablet, using earbuds. My son goes to bed early and since I have to turn the TV up louder with the AC going, I want to make sure I don't disturb him.

In the top picture, the sun and sky were actually these colors:

@OneEyedDiva: I enjoyed your report and the pictures. It is nice to get away from my own life for a few moments! One comment though, because my hearing is really bad I watch my TV with headphones on! That way I can have it as loud as I wish without disturbing the neighbours. I have four tablets in the house but have never watched a show on any of them. The picture is just too small for me to enjoy anything but books on them. What a waste of all that computing power! My daughter can actually enjoy YouTube on her iPhone!

Can't seem to sleep soundly this past night. I was up at 4am from 1am. Then again from 5am till 7am.

All the stress I'm having isn't helping.

  1. The Energy Crisis, still no news after 4 years
  2. My husband's estate, still no news, over a year now
  3. My father's estate after 49 years, nothing yet.

At least we'll be going out for swim and shopping, in order to relax. Wish me luck! Thanks...
