What are you doing today 2023

Sir came in about 9 looking like death warmed over. I stayed until 10:30. Tomorrow's another day.

DGD still at the hospital where they're waiting on more test results and trying to clear up the inflammation in her gall bladder and pancreas. Surgery not until tomorrow, first to hunt down and remove large stone that's causing the problem. Then wait until the next day to remove gall bladder. When that's done, pancreas should return to normal.

So far, she's had nothing to eat since 7pm Tuesday and won't get anything until after the surgery is done. All she can have is sips of water or ice chips. She'll be a mere shadow of her former self by the time she's outta there. She's getting massive doses of antibiotics, though, along with plenty of pain meds.

Baby GS is here for the day while DDIL works.

DH dropped niece and 11 year old GS at 6 Flags roller coaster amusement park late this morning. When they've had enough he'll pick them up and they'll hit our pool to cool off.

DH & I took the baby in the pool before breakfast. Wore my new bathing suit that arrive yesterday. I bought it from Amazon during their Prime Days event. It's 3 pieces. Fits great and I really like the separate bra instead of the built in bra "shelf" that comes with most one piece suits and two piece tankinis.

why did you get drenched..was it raining ? what's wrong Supernatural why are you anxious today..hope you don't mind me asking..
Aye, it began as speckling, then the skies just opened up and poured. I've now got super curly hair lol!

Yes, the anxiety will unfortunately remain (as acknowledged by my DBI practitioner on phone today) until the Energy Crisis ongoing for over 4 years now will be resolved, once and for all. It's getting ludicrous... Sorry @hollydolly !

@hollydolly I swear I saw a woman in Lidl today that was your doppelganger.

I sympathize in connection with your disturbed sleep and items 2 and 3, but don't understand "The Energy Crisis." Are you talking about personal listlessness, @Supernatural ? If you don't mind sharing!
Nope I don't mind. Company A was our original supplier for both gas and electricity. Turned out after I investigated, Company A, due to a massive error on their part, over 4 years, took payment but never provided electricity.

Meanwhile, Company B harassed my husband until he died, saying that they were providing electricity and began harassing me after hubby's death. During bereavement contact with Company A, they acknowledged again that they were providing both services. Now simple fix by law, Company A has to pay from July 2019 to now to Company B. Only after this happens will I be able to choose my new provider (which currently supplies Gas now).

The reason for anxiety and sleepless nights, frustration like you'd never believe. My rights are being overrun by Company B who are very obnoxious. My prepay meter has about 2 weeks worth of electricity prepaid and then that's it, as Company A has now cancelled electricity account.

I've never wanted Company B has they've breached my privacy and stressed out my husband and myself. It's in the hands of CAB Energy but they haven't done or understood the situation since November last year.

My DBI practitioner recommends that I should contact OFGEM. I will next week, I'm too nervous and frustrated to do so this week. I'm not hopeful but they do have help for vulnerable customers.

Every time my daughter is over for a few hours of company and TV watching we have to watch without headphones. I am always nervous about the neighbours complaining, but I guess we aren't that loud ... yet! Give it time!

One thing I forgot to mention and would be interested to know: How many of you are now watching your shows and movies with close captioning on! I am sticking with streaming for that reason because most of their fare is CC'd! For some reason my basic cable's CC is too large (even when set to small) and intrusive, so, except for the news and Jeopardy I don't watch it and usually go straight to streaming!
I watch with close captioning either on all the time or on replay but not because I'm hard of hearing. My husband always said I have bionic hearing. But I've noticed, along with others, that either the soundtrack is too loud and drowns out part of what's being said or it seems actors and reporters don't enunciate like they used to. Sometimes the closed captioning is just ridiculous. I was watching an old movie and it got the name of the character wrong. Sometimes you know the words on the screen are so laughable, that they cannot possibly be what was said. Recently, while watching the GMA, the closed captioning was either too early or behind what was being said. Also on Hulu, when watching GMA or World News Tonight, the captioning is positioned right where their banner is which makes it hard to see.

You neighbors likely have their own noise pollution going on, but I understand why you'd be concerned. Periodically, I'll step outside my door to see if my T.V. sounds too loud in the hallway. It usually doesn't.

Some of the actors have a strong accent or aren’t native speakers. I like to have closed captioning for that. Same for British and Australian shows. Words are just enough different that it makes it harder to understand.

Music. Grrrrr. Why do these shows think we want it so loud that it overpowers what’s being said. Often I FF the beginning just to get past it.

That's true about the accents Jules. I don't know why they think the music needs to be so loud! I stopped watching a series because it just got to be too annoying. My son came in one day and asked what volume the TV was set at because it sounded loud in the hallway. He was concerned that I was becoming hearing impaired, apparently. I told him I watch at 8 and if the AC is on, 12. He seemed surprised. Then I told him it sounded loud because the intro music, which is at a volume much louder than the show, was playing. :)

Well, I don’t know what kind of an emoji to put to this. I’m gobsmacked at the atrocious way you’ve been treated!

@Naturally
I love the photo of the raindrops on the leaves and flower petals.
Also like the one of your dog in front of the shed.

Begonias and impatiens, in bright blue pots. So vivid and lively.

Thanks for sharing all of those with us.

I thought that I would share some, not all of what I did these past two days with all of you.

I once again thought about my unresolved problems and issues.
I am the type of person that needs answers- and things resolved in nice, tidy packages.
I know that life is complicated and messy.

On Wednesday I did one load of laundry.
I turned on the tv to the crime drama TV Series Blue Bloods.
I left a message for the electrician.
At this time, he has not returned my call.
I went online to research surge protectors.

On Thursday I dusted two rooms.
I used Woolite Delicates to wash out a few things.
I left a message for our local/area elder care.
I had a question about an elder care service.
At this time, they have not returned my call.
One thought that crossed my mind was to research the different types of home health aides or services.
Etc.

@Supernatural
That is really a terrible situation, and one that has gone on for so very long, despite all the efforts your husband made to deal with it, and that you have had to continue to live through and to try to resolve.
I understand that level of frustration and anxiety, which effects our abilities to function well.
I find things like that, very upsetting, as well, so I can understand that, which you wrote out, here.

I hope you will get some helpful action, from contacting the OFG..... next week. I sure know how difficult, each added step to this sort of thing, truly is.

@MissRJ We all have baggage. Some more than others, but we all have it. We all have various issues or problems. Some larger or smaller than others, but we all have them. We all try to find solutions. Sometimes we do, sometimes we don't.

What it all boils down to is to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Eventually, we either solve the problems or they solve themselves.

A hundred years from now it won't matter, so live your life and just do what you can.

Gramma has spoken. (Remind me of this post when needed!)
Thank you for your reply.

I know that life is complicated and messy.
I do not want baggage.
I do not like baggage.
In my younger and in my older years, for different reasons I wanted or needed things to go my way.
Perhaps, one reason is my not being that great at handling it.
I prefer avoiding problems or issues.

Can't seem to sleep soundly this past night. I was up at 4am from 1am. Then again from 5am till 7am.

All the stress I'm having isn't helping.

  1. The Energy Crisis, still no news after 4 years
  2. My husband's estate, still no news, over a year now
  3. My father's estate after 49 years, nothing yet.

At least we'll be going out for swim and shopping, in order to relax. Wish me luck! Thanks...
Were you able to relax?

A certain lovely lady from over the road was chucking out an electric clothes iron, she said that it still worked but the flex-cable was broken, so I said to her, "Give it here and I'll put a new flex on it."

She told me to bin it because she had bought a new iron.

Yesterday, I put a new flex on it and it works, so today, I'm going to do something I've never done before, I'm going to iron all my shirts and underwear.

Perhaps the lovely lady from across the road will now stop saying that I look like a 'raggamuffin' in my unironed shirts. ☺️
Without her knowing it, she gave you what turned out to be a good iron.

I very seldom, if ever iron.
My iron sits on our ironing board- downstairs in our unfinished basement.
It still works.

I rarely iron anything either now.. not that I wear un-ironed clothes, I just buy clothes now that don't need ironing after being in the tumble dryer. I do have a big aversion to clothes which are creased...

All that said I did get the iron out the other day..for the first time in about a year, to iron some blouses..

Were you able to relax?
Our swim decision at 9am was the best. It helped a lot. We had so much fun with a wee water ball. Just got soaked when we got out of pool centre LOL. The skies just opened up. So much for believing in weather app. It promised rain much later as in 2 hours later. Gone darn it!!!

We've also decided to let go joining the archery club only in October. Although, releasing arrows was the best stress relief.

Back to doing Tai Chi from YouTube videos on Tele, I guess...🙃
