Americans are fat.

Well. I think the Brits are giving you a real run for your money
in the fat department.
Saw a lot of fat on them while on vacation last week and they are on the prowl.
Some of the women even have the nerve
to wear a bikini. Ladies, cover yourself up if you are overweight!

I arrested a man several years ago for an illicit crime of all things and he was so huge, he wouldn’t (couldn’t) get into my vehicle. I think he probably went about or over 500 pounds. We had to lay him down in the back of an SUV. The Trooper that took him to jail told me the correction officers had to push him into his holding cell. I didn’t go to court for him, so I guess they cut a deal.

Flaunting it because they got it! :ROFLMAO:

And...So what?

EXACTLY!

If fat people in bikinis and/or skinny people in bikinis should cover up because they offend you by the way they look, then old people should also cover up their wrinkly, saggy carcasses. God forbid that people should be permitted to wear what they want. There should be laws to prevent anyone from wearing anything that offends anyone else! 🙄😑😖🤨

Not everyone is physically perfect—not even close. If you have such judgmental, intolerable sensibilities, L👀K AWAY!

It is a struggle to keep to a diet. When I found out I had Type2 diabetes I was shocked, although I did have symptoms. Always thirsty, running to the toilet to pass water, always hot, sweating a lot and weight started to come off. I immediately started a walking program, sometimes 4-5 kilometres per day and within a month I had noticed my clothes were getting a little loose. I kept at it and went from obese to overweight within a year. I am not thin by a longshot but can walk for hours and have no trouble climbing stairs. I watch my diet and keep off sugar and salt and bread.
I was watching Anthony Bordane the other evening. I know he's passed away now but he was in Minneapolis and looking at the food that was sold in the shopping malls and said it's no wonder the American people are so fat. Large servings and everything fried.

Oscash: Your story (re diabetes) mirror my story. 19 years, at a University medical check-up - DIABETES!! I was devasted and quit university so I can come to terms with this "end of life" situation!!

I was put on injection and decided to change my life style - no sweets, no junk food, daily exercise. Sugar was the cause of mood swings (mom being an "at home" mother would bake almost daily. )

I am almost 80 - weigh 105 lbs, walk 3 miles/day, live with Flash (dog) in the same house for 40 years. My diet consists of mostly green vegetables, limited carbs (ie rice, potato, pasta), fresh fruit, poultry or fish; no prepared foods. I still drive but decided NOT TO RENEW MY DRIVER'S LICENSE this autumn.

I don't care what people wear, but as a boy I remember our family going to the beach, where quite often I would see a really fat guy walking around in his bathing suit and acting like he wasn't bothered by being fat. I wasn't offended, but I wondered why he didn't mind being seen like that. I don't remember fat women, although I'm sure they were there, but this was before there were bikinis, and just plain old two piece bathing suits were seldom worn by anyone.

Good to hear of your achievements BC Flash - I'm 80 in December and hope to keep good health well into my 80's. I'm still driving although I have to have my Cataracts checked every 6 months', not ready to be operated on. yet.

Glad this has thread has turned to health. It was getting a little fat jokey.
Metabolic health is a major concern in the US and UK these days.
They're finding that obese people can be metabolically healthy while skinny people can have hidden visceral (killer) fat surrounding their organs.
Waist to hip ratio is important, maybe more than weight.
I was shocked to find I'm prediabetic. I'd considered myself pretty healthy. My weight is good but I've always had a belly.
Now that I do know I've changed my diet and am working on getting the numbers down.
It's not easy though.

As countries develop they often change traditional diets to those containing more animal based foods. Then comes the sedentary lifestyles and processed foods. Now…not all americans are fat or even slightly over weight. But most people who are thinner never developed the eating and lifestyle habits their fellow over weight humans did. I am thin. I have always been thin. Never work at it. But I rarely drink a sweetened drink. Rarely eat processed foods. Have always been active. And have good genes..
