I get a iron infusion every week by IV. My Hemoglobin is tested at the same time, before the IV goes in. Current number is hovering around 70, while a normal number should be over 160. From March of this year, when the low Hemoglobin number was discovered , I have had 11 units of A positive blood infused, plus 7 units of Plasma infused. Besides the low red blood cell count I have....A pacemaker, COPD, sleep apnea, two inguinal hernias ( that will be operated on in August) and deafness. Wife jokes that my warranty has expired.......Thank goodness for the Canadian medical care system. If we lived in the USA, we would have to sell our house and end up living in a shelter for the elderly. JimB.
