What are you doing today 2023

Another disgusting day beyond dreich. Cold, wet and windy, more like October than July.

It's the housekeeper's day off, so I have to do the shopping myself and it's so inconvenient here in the wilds. The nearest Waitrose is 175 miles away and the old Bently is so hard on fuel. Ah, such is the lot of the country laird.

Oh well, better go and get on with it. Right, where's my shopping list. Must add a tin of baked beans to it.

Gracious good morning, boys and girls. Are we all in our places with bright, shiny faces? I am!

It's time to get my behind in gear so that I can bake stuff. πŸ₯ πŸ₯ πŸ₯

Wish I could plant my new flowers after work, but it'll probably already be too warm. Drat.

Hugs and positive thoughts to all...

Will go through the day with a certain amount of sadness since Buffy & my sister still in my mind. I want another cat but I'm not ready. I still miss HER too much. My brother-in-law called me Saturday. I was able to rid myself of him as my grandson napping nearby. Hope he never calls again. Don't want a confrontation. 20 years. For 20 years no one called me. I suffered for 20 years from missing them. That's my fault, it's on me.

Every day all I want is happiness; as much as I can grab; as much as I can muster. It's a struggle; it's my daily goal. Had such an incredible weekend; 2 whole days with my family! Now I'm somewhat deflated.

Oh, @StarSong I won my case with city!

I slept until 5:30. Maggiecat was not happy having to wait for her breakfast.

Yesterday was DGS's 25th birthday, and we went out for dinner at his favorite restaurant (well, his current favorite). I had grilled salmon and ate every. single. bite. Yup. All of it. Too full for dessert so I ordered their special bread pudding to take home, if you can imagine bread pudding being special. About a year ago, DD and DGD had lunch there and brought some home for me. It really is special, and...I'm gonna have it for breakfast.
I used to make bread pudding often before I moved here. Now I don't eat bread so haven't had it. Enjoy it!

Shopping done OK. I'm not joking about Waitrose, the nearest stores were in Edinburgh and Glasgow, but there is now one in Stirling and that's only 160 miles. The weather has improved slightly, but still bad for July.

I'm attempting to cooked stuffed courgettes for dinner today. I've got a load of large courgettes and plenty more coming. The marrows are growing well too, so some day we'll make marrow chutney and marrow & ginger jam. But now, lunch.

I didn't sleep well last night, and got up late this morning. I'm tired and probably crabby.

(NO, not me!!!)

Right now I'm too sleepy to know what I'll be doing today. We are expected to be close to 100Β°F today, so I might go into town to run a few errands and walk on the treadmill. Hopefully I'll be awake by the time I get to the fitness center.....

I had to look up marrow - already knew courgette to you is zucchini to me. Marrow is known as Mexican squash in this area. Capture.JPG

Morning all.....going to get to 100F here today, already around 80, wheewww...
No definite plans, other than stay cool....that danged rash has come back with
a vengance, got a call into doc's office about it....if they can prescribe meds fine,
if not they won't see me again....tired of it....take care all folks......:D

It's been hot, hot, hot. Yesterday we took baby grandson to the beach, then lunch, and spent time afterwards in big park adjacent to the harbor. A cool, lovely few hours - almost needed a sweatshirt! Clear and sunny 103Β° where I live, overcast and 67Β° at this beach. Less than an hour away and a nice drive.

He LOVED it!

We'll be going back again soon, next time with a towel, plus pails, shovels and some other sand toys! As you can see, this beach was nearly empty.

I've been to the store for bread and milk and it's already over 82 degrees at 8 am. The forecast is 94 but I won't be surprised if it's higher. I've pulled the shades and set the AC so all should be cool and I plan to stay in. I have some projects to work on so I better get to it.

Have a great day, everyone!

dry.. a little sun, mainly overcast... no rain expected.. Later today I'm seeing my consultant.. I could do with cancelling because I don't feel great, and not up to driving...but I daren't because I'll wait another 6 month or more for another appointment
I hope that something very helpful, comes from this appointment for you.

Not sure yet what I will be doing. Walking the hall with my friend unless it is too hot out there. It is 59 degrees outside right now but inside the building is much hotter. I don't turn on my air conditioner until it is 62 degrees but lately have been breaking my own rule.
The hall in my building is likewise, even hotter than the other areas of the building;
and the halls are noticeably hotter than the many apartments who do not (cannot afford to) buy their own A/C, plus pay additional electricity to run one.

I myself, do have a small one.
Btw, it is over 80 degrees here, atm, in late morning, and will be climbing,
but has not been this way for the last 3 weeks of continuous days, like many of your areas have been.

Great photo there, of the grasshoppers, @Ken N Tx !

Are you allergic to something maybe?
Good idea, though If so, it seems it would be something unavoidable, in that house or in that area, the way it keeps recurring. And in different locations on the body.

I have also wondered if that terrible rash could be a response to something viral, that might respond to one of the newer meds.

I hope the doctor gives you something (anything!!)
to knock it back down again!
@hawkdon

Today I am trying to recover from yesterday's events.
I had water leaking from my furnace. Plumber came.
The whole wall unit had to be removed and mold was discovered as well as weak rotten piping.
It has been temporarily 'fixed' for leak and A/C is running but obviously more to come.

Friday I have to vacate my underground parking from 8am til 6pm as it is being cleaned.
so I have to drive to parking lot and walk back then the reverse at 6pm. With a walker and my limited strengths and uneven sidewalks not so easy for me.....oh enuff said!
I need a coffee

Later
