No I didn’t start the thread @MarkD [/USER]. I’m just a contributor.
The metal knee sounds serious and I’m surprised how soon they started therapy but it’s clearly worked well for you.
Hey @CallMeKate , you look like you’re right on track. Is the KFC bowl an actual dish from KFC? Your shrimp dish is something my msn would love too. Will you be walking soon?
@Alligatorob, , you don’t do things 1/2 way either I see. You’ve taken this challenge by the horns. Your workout schedule is very impressive and that sherbet you’re eating has me drooling.
Then again, I’m not really craving anything lately except healthy food.
@MarkD, if you did a healthy eating class 3 times and lost 50 pounds, you’ve got this. Ten pounds for you should be easy.
@Happyflowerlady, I’m so jealous that you can swim. Swimming is one of my favourite exercises. The buoyancy of the water is so supportive and perfect for healing injuries. Is it an outdoor swimming pool? The gym I used to go to had an Olympic size indoor pool to two smaller outdoor pools . It was wonderful swimming outdoors on a nice sunny day. I really miss it.
Like yourself, I usually exercise before I eat. It seems to work for me also. Plus I find that exercise decreases my appetite, as long as I don’t overdo it.
It’s week 3 today and I have lost 4 pounds which means I’m 20% closer to my goal challenge.
I decided to step up my diet game plan some by restricting my carbohydrates, increasing my vegetable intake and keeping my protein intake the same.
Most of my meals are soups and salads which I actually like so it works.
At the same time I decreased my aerobics. It’s worked out really well. Now the weight is coming off much easier. Curbing the carbs seems to work well for me.
@Della - venting about doing your weight loss challenge is perfectly acceptable. I think that’s one of the reasons why this thread was made. The thread isn’t about positive experiences only. That’s just not reality. A challenge includes both positive and negative experiences as well as neutral ones.
Fluctuations in weight are ALL part of the journey AND considered normal and expected. My first week, I lost my first pound but my 2nd week I gained 5. It was a disappointing discovery.
Something that I later realized was that when I started this weight loss challenge, I was severely dehydrated. Once I started drinking 2 to 3 litres a day, my weight went up but it also was quickly lost . My body adapted to the changes within days.
You’ve lost a significant amount of weight in the recent past. If you did it then, you can do it again. Every stall you have, come here and vent, we shall help you. Focussing on just the numbers, isn’t helpful. Focussing on the journal to reach the goal, IS.
Drinking between 2 to 3 lites a day can really help curb the appetite.
Why not join us? We’d love to have you.
