Mr. Pooler was my bus driver back in the 1940s. His bus was painted brown with a silver top. My uncle use to play drums at Mossmans at a different time.

It's been written about that people living in war zones seem to adapt to it and go about their "life as usual." This photo is quite revealing of that fact. Great photo!that looks like any street in Spain or Italy... this is war.... and the British spirit that made us strong enough to fight nations twice or 3 times our size..a man who didn't let the fact that all the houses had been bombed he was still going to deliver the milk to the doorsteps

My Mothers mom a few days before she passed away. I as 5yrs old and all her grandchildren are in the picture
They were wet and froze on the line. Happened a lot back in the day.
Thanks, I love that pic. Yes, as caroln said it was frozen. I couldn't help wondering if it saved time on ironing.
