What are you doing today 2023

Had a medical appointment at 11. I was back in the car by 10:57. Then to the arena for indoor walking. We’re back in a really heavy smoke situation again. Then off to a nearby Chinese restaurant. It wasn’t as good as our usual place. Good thing was it meant I didn‘t have to cook lunch. Will basically be locked indoors all day. It’s too unhealthy to be out.

It was much too nice a day to stay indoors so DD and I ventured out to the garden centers, of course! Where else would we go? LOL.

After our garden center visits, we eased on over to Starbucks and got cold drinks.

Gotta love the drier air. No rain in sight between now and at least next Tuesday. Yay. Our high temp today is only 85.

The lawn will get mowed tomorrow.

I did some dustng and cooking.

I again, spoke with HP in regards to my refund.
I am hoping that in 1-2 business the rest of my money will be refunded.

I have been thinking about my upcoming doctor's appointment.
It an appointment that I am not looking forward too but feel I have to have.

If your doctor's appointment includes needles, then I'm with you that it's an unwanted appointment but must be done. I suffer from running veins aka they disappear deep under if someone mentions needles AWWWWWW......🙂

Today has been a little bit eclectic... Took my high hedge trimmer around to my Elderly neighbour...She got a lot of physical problems altho' she's on the ball still... there's nothing wrong with her mind..

In fact she's the neighbourhood gossip, or at least she was until she stopped being able to get around as much, but she knows everyone's business.. she's been my neighbour for over 40 years..

She was telling me all about her probs.. I knew some of them anyway from past chats, but she's 88.. and she's has a colostomy bag.. she's had hip replacements , means she is very unsteady on her feet... she's just had cataract surgery this past Saturday.. like me she has OA in her hands.. and so on,.. so I was there about an hour just dropping off the trimmer, while she was telling me all this...

Today I also managed to find an Electrician who has agreed to fit my new kitchen ceiling light. I have an LED light fitting in the kitchen which blew last week..

in the past my husband was always the one to replace them when the finally died..they usually last about 7 years.., and as anyone who knows what I'm talking about they only take a few minutes to take one down and re-wire the new one..

but everyone I called wanted around £100 to fit it....less that 5 minutes work....I'd do it myself but it's too fiddly for me with the OA in my fingers, plus it's never a good idea to fiddle with electrics when you don't know what you're doing..especially on top of a ladder...

so I eventually called a number my neighbour gave me.. and told them I can supply the new light, but I can't fit it myself.. and they've agreed to come and fit it for nothing.. no fee.. Nada !

..however I have to wait for a call from them over the next few days because they'll fit it in between paid jobs... so that suits me fine..

In the meantime I quickly ordered a new unit, not the same but something similar ... ( another first for me since o/h has been gone, because he always did those type of things, knowing exactly what was what )... ..and I got up on top of the ladders, and undid the non working light fitment, and brought it down, so it'll be even quicker for the Electrician when he comes..

Further...tonight I just thought I'd treat myself to a no cook night... so I ordered a Chinese take away from a Restaurant in the next town.. and went and collected it..because they don't deliver outside their town

I had Chinese Chicken Curry.. chicken Chow mein, and egg fried rice... delicious..OMG I was stuffed so much I felt a bit poorly for about an hour or 2

I wish it were as simple as a Medicare-Physical or getting a flu shot.
I am not looking forward to that appointment.
If I had another route to travel to I would.

I had a busy day. I cleaned the bathroom, Swiffer-ing and wiping the bathroom floor, taking care to get all the bits of litter off the floor. I had to make room in the closet for Deja's litter box, in preparation for the rotor rooter man. Good thing I did the floor since he couldn't remove the strainer in the sink and had to sit on the floor to get the job done. I wasn't planning to and thought we wouldn't need to just yet, but my son suggested at the last minute (via text) that it might be time to get the tub done too.

I asked Sean, who was doing the work, what the extra charge would be and if he'd have time to do it. Since he knocked off $25 from the price of having the sink and tub done at the same time and $100 off what it would cost if he had to come back, I decided to go ahead and get the tub done too. Total job, including tax was $266.36

After he left, I went downtown to pick up my package at the Amazon hub. On the way I decided to stop at the lingerie store to pick up an item. After leaving the hub, I walked to the supermarket because I needed almond milk and basil. I also got cream cheese and non stick spray; I didn't even spend $9. My son picked up another Amazon order I had sent to his job because the box was large and heavy. I got busy finding places to put the bulk items I bought.

I also had to treat my shower curtain with Dryel stain remover because spots of black gook got on the bottom of it from the rooter job. That product works really well, so the stains came out.

Then it was time to cut Deja's nails. She was more fidgety than ever this time, even while bribing her with her favorite treat. I tried the new cat claw cutter that came in a pet grooming kit I'd gotten from Walmart, but found it to be cumbersome and difficult to use. My son suggested I go back to using the toe nail clipper I used before. Doing that was much easier and faster. I have a special one for her and she has her own emery boards as well. She wouldn't stay still long enough, like last time, for me to use the emery boards.

I'd have slept longer if not for Maggiecat tapping on my shoulder. "Ahem. Have you forgotten that I eat breakfast at 4am?" Geez. It was only 4:45.

Today is laundry, plant yesterday's flowers, mow lawn, admire the new patio table and enjoy another day of low humidity. I'll get started right now. Yup. Here I go 🔜🔜🔜🔜

Laundry started but not much else done yet. I did eat breakfast...tiramisu. Why tiramisu? Because it was there. Not to mention Etwas Süßes am Morgen vertreibt Kummer und Sorgen.

Next up. Clean litter box. Make bed. Wait for full daylight to get started in the garden.

Need somebody to light a fire under my arse because Maggiecat made me get up but motivation stayed in bed.

Today I get my eye jab for macular and checkup so I won't be doing too much today or tomorrow unless he hits a blood vessel in which case could be a few days.
I never plan ahead when it is done.
Hoping to have a discussion with the Doc but he never seems to want to talk. Wham bang with the needles, see you in two months and that is it.
Oh well c'est la vie these days.

See you whenever..best to everyone

My high school German was rusty so I looked this up. For anyone else whose brain couldn't handle a quick translation:
"Something sweet in the morning drives away sorrow and worries"

What a lovely expression, GG! I'd never heard it before - in any language!
