I'm stressed out on Relaxation Day
I'm stressed out as well, but didn't know it was Relaxation Day. Sorry!

I've got help from Breathing Space phone-in service, I feel much better having dumped my stress on that lovely guy. Haven't received compliments much in the last decade, so he made me face what I'd accomplished since lost son and husband. I'm calling GP surgery tomorrow to get further help. Phew!

PS daughter brought a wee dram of Scotch while on phone after I finally burst into tears after 15 months. Good Bonnie!

The rain really did bring a cool front with it. It's 77 and the feels-like temp is also 77. Can you believe it? I'm sooo excited!

I bet @Ken N Tx is green with envy:alien:
Looking forward to it getting down here, @Georgiagranny !!

#3 son is cutting back 2 branches of one of my cedar trees to give the beech tree some breathing room. Also tidying up the dogwoods. The Tree guy never did call me back, oh well, it’s his loss

Just finished woodburning an American Staffordshire Bull Terrier this morning (Staffordshire seems like it ought to be a British breed, but I guess it isn't). Anyway, I wanted to make homemade spaghetti sauce, but it's gonna be hot today, so maybe I will just go water plants, and then watch a favorite movie.

I'm familiar with the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, as I'm from Staffordshire. Locally this breed is known as Staffy's. I believe this breed of dog was taken from Britain to the US before the American Civil War.

I wonder if the British Staffordshire Bull Terrier was bred with other larger British Terriers in the US? Then becoming an AmStaff. The first time I saw an AmStaff was when I was in Milwaukee several years ago. A magnificent dog.

Not heard of Breathing Space... what do they do ?

Fabulous..(y)

. they really are English , they're Staffordshire Bull Terriers from the English County of Staffordshire ... descended from 19th century Bull Terriers... we had one she was just not interested in other dogs, she loved humans so much I think she wanted to be one.. she passed 2 years ago..age 15...

Awww.... I just decided to do that one because I thought they were handsome dogs. I'm so sorry you lost your sweet companion. If you lived close by, I would burn your pet's name on it and give it to you. I imagine shipping something to England would be a bit pricey, and may not even arrive in one piece. But that's up to you.

At any rate, thank you for clearing up the origin of the breed. It makes more sense now.

that's very kind, I would have taken you up on your offer, but recently postage between the USA and the UK has gone sky high.. so I have to decline your offer, great shame, but at least we get to see your artwork here..

Well, there you go. It's always best to get first-hand knowledge of these sorts of things. I learned something today, and it seems this handsome dog has deep roots from a beautiful country. Thanks for sharing that.

No worries. It will find the home is destined for. Besides, you have your pictures, and you could even have one done there if it's something you desire.

Today when I was out I realised I didn't have my debit card or a certain store card with me,..the 2 cards are my go to cards, and are usually in my jeans pocket rather than my wallet.... It was a little irritating when I realised I'd gone so far from home, and only had one credit card with me...

anyway.. brushed it off, knowing I would find the cards when I got home. Guess what ?... I have searched everywhere they're likely to be, and they're not anywhere ..it's now past 11pm.. and I'm just at a loss to know where they could be.. so I checked my account, nothing has gone from there..so if I left the cards somewhere, no-one's used them... but to be on the safe side, I've just ordered a new Debit card from my bank... it'll take 5 days to get here, but that's ok..at least I'll have peace of mind..

Staffies are hugely popular in the UK... up until very recently about every 1 in 10 dog owner had a staffie... the popular dog among staffie owners now in the last couple of years are Huskies..

Oh gosh, I hope they turn up, even just to solve that mystery, for you! @hollydolly
yep me too Kaila... I did think if I'd left them in a Supermarket last week.. then they would have probably called or sent them to the bank.. and my bank would have let me know.. so I feel they must be in the house somewhere, but I just always keep them in one of 2 places.. and they're not there..or anywhere else I've looked in case in a lapse of memory I put them in another bag etc.. anyway... I'll be pleased if I find they're still here..even tho' they're cancelled..

You'll sleep better, (not sooner but better )
..... but you will sleep or rest, better,
for having cancelled them!

I'm home, and glad of it!! It was not a wonderful day in town. No matter what I did (or tried to do), I ended up waiting. And waiting. And waiting!

At the Fitness Center, there were only 3-4 other people. It's a big place......but someone was always using the equipment that I wanted, just as I was ready for it!!! Well, at least I had a good workout, anyway!

Next was Wal-Mart. They move things around all of the time, and I have to go looking for my items. That's ok.... I don't mind. What I do mind is not enough cashiers and the ones that they do have are soooo slow!!!! I am NOT the type of person to "wait"....I need to be doing something!!!

Ok, we finally got our stuff rung up and left Wal-Mart. So, let's stop for a pizza. The place we go to usually has a pizza ready for pick up. Even if they don't have one right away, the longest you should evet have to wait is 6 minutes. You won't believe how long we waited (I don't even believe it!). It took 30 minutes for us to get our pizza!!!!! Sheesh!

Finally, head home. Of course, there was a semi truck tipped half way off the road. Police, tow trucks, etc. No one seemed to be hurt (the driver was filling out the report).... just one more wait in a day of waiting!!

So, as I said....I'm happy to be home. An hour and a half (or !more) later than expected, but home!!

I'm ready to "chill"! Watch The Last Kingdom, play my game, read, whatever!

I'm sitting by my bedroom window, watching that storm front come through... Call me weird, but I love a good thunderstorm (cue the Dark Academia playlist)

On a humorous note, I asked Ed today, when I visited him at the rehab center, what the first thing he wanted to do when he went home. "Make myself a decent cup of coffee," he responded without hesitation =P

We are getting a thunderstorm right now! There has not been any significant rain in this area of the state in a long time! We are getting a good amount not just a downpour. I like to see some lightning. It gives the plants nitrogen.
