It rained, no poured, all night. I feel like I haven't slept at all. Well, sleep is overrated anyway!

This afternoon, I'm going to watch a TV show called The Last Kingdom. We just started this series, and I'm really enjoying it. It's a fictional "historical drama", about how England was born. It takes place in the year 872, the Danes have invaded. One by one they are conquering each individual Kingdom. The last one is Wessex, and they are trying to unite what is left of the other kingdoms. The main (fictional) character is easy to like and there are plenty of lighthearted parts to keep it interesting.

Seems like that will not be easy for you, now that you are used to having the help, is it?
 
I put away a little clean laundry, today.
I wrote a short business note, for the old-fashioned mail. Yes, there are a few (very few!) business type of places that will still read one. ;)
I organized my to-do list, for myself.
I watched a few finches and a cardinal, out my window.
I enjoyed some threads here at SF.
 
There is a leak in the bathroom of the unit above mine, and the regular building maintenance sawed a big hole in the ceiling over my toilet and water is dripping down. I only have one bathroom, so now they are trying to get in contact with the owner of the unit above me because the owner of that unit is responsible for the cost so they are the only one the emergency maintenance will accept an emergency service order from.

I'm envisioning trying to use the bathroom while holding an umbrella!

Luckily I had no plans for today so can sit here while maintenance tramps in and out.

That's horrible! Such a major inconvenience for you! I hope they can fix it soon.

(although I did laugh at the mental image of you sitting on throne with an umbrella!!!).

That sounds awful. :confused:
It seems there should have been a better way for them to handle that situation.
And whether or not there was, it's still awful for you!:(
 
It’s been a busy week. I waited 5 months for the glass enclosure to arrive and be installed on my balcony. Now it’s a space that I can use year round. It will be nice to have my coffee out there with the windows open.

The painter was booked for months so I did it myself. It’s small but the ceiling was vaulted. That meant that I had to get up high on a ladder. It was terrifying as I am afraid of heights and am a klutz. But it turned out great.
 
~Mended a slip to keep the elastic in place.
~Made several phone calls today to set up rooter service, business call Stockton's bursars office regarding my granddaughter's fall semester bill, spoke with two relatives regarding our upcoming family reunion and my "Li'l Sis" to help her coordinate doing a memorial for our friend.
~Sent out emails regarding the reunion and memorial

~I watched another episode of Blue Bloods and started watching Deep Impact (1998) on Peacock. It's a disaster film that I don't remember ever watching before. I listened to music with the earbuds for a little while. It's something I should treat myself to more. Sometimes there are little bits of ear candy that can be only be heard when using headphones or earbuds. 🎶🎵🎧

Busy day today.
Tai Chi class this morning.
This afternoon I'm teaching a beginners photography class at a local library.
After that we're driving up to Harrogate for a two night stay. Then a night in York followed by a night in Knaresborough.
Back late on Saturday.

There may be photos hahahahaaaaaa.....:p
 
Good morning, boys and girls. I'm off to make 🥐 and stuff with a big smile on my non-political face:D

One more day of nearly unbearable heat before a cool down tonight and drier air tomorrow. Maybe the lawn will get mowed tomorrow before I'm cited by the city!
