That 120 word limit takes work that doesn't always work

I was going to put a news story here but the 120 word limit blocked the cut & paste. I chopped it up in small paragraphs but that didn't work.

It is a story by a Canadian scientist explaining the earth won't sustain human life as we know it.

I found I pretty much had to split paragraphs into sentences...for it to work well..I just think people reading my posts might not realise I really do know how to make a paragraph...

That is what I did. I had the article copied to a notepad broke it down into sentences where it made sense. Pasted that to the body where dialog goes & the 120 block thingy still wouldn't accept that.

THAT'S what they're called, Matrix. I couldn't remember that when I posted #2.

Yeah, there's a guy there who was cutting his teeth on this "make sure they don't type too many words in a paragraph" code.

He needs to know it still doesn't work.
His name is Matrix.. he is Admin and owner of the Forum all in one ... great guy... he'll visit this thread once he sees this... (y)

Knight, the problem might be the site you copied from. I sometimes have problems just pasting an article to a Word doc. I assume it's ads, charts/photos, or maybe encoding...not sure.

I was thinking the same thing.

When I suspect I'm copying too much formatting, I'll first paste into notepad. Then, if everything looks good, copy from notepad and then paste.

Then if that doesn't work it's off to tell Commander Matrix.

This should have been posted in the Forum Support Forum. It's not like it's Worldly News🤣

Strike while the iron is hot. The proverb refers to how the blacksmith heats the iron in order to make it malleable. When it cools, the blacksmith loses the ability to shape it into the desired shape. Our lives are like iron; when an opportunity arises, we must be prepared to seize it in order to change our lives. There is no point in moping about missed opportunities after time has passed. Wise men remain alert and recognise opportunities as they arise. The foolish, on the other hand, sit back and watch as opportunities pass them by. Our unwillingness to take risks can frequently leave us empty-handed. It is certainly possible to make sense in one paragraph, no problem.

(120 words)

Just thought I'd check if the 120 word paragraph thing is working.
I have just posted a paragraph consisting of 120 words.

It works! It was not rejected! All OK where I am (y)

It seems that sometimes I have to do that and sometimes I don't. I felt the same, like...are members going to realize that making one sentence "paragraphs" is not my doing?

120 word limit for a paragraph? Tell that to writers like James Michener. You would put them right out of business.

Seemed to me more like a hot topic since it's been mentioned in other threads. Note that Matrix is looking at this and didn't move it to Forum Support.

Can you post the link? i know i've had trouble because some links are too long. But if it's a fairly short link---those interested can click on it to read the article.

Another way around that problem is to post the Title of the article and maybe what outlet/magazine/paper published it. While it would take a tad of effort--those interested in the topic would take the time.

Heck, i keep a browser with search engine open whenever i'm online--to fact check my memory as well as things other say that i have questions about.
