Unless you are planning to attend The Bournemouth Air Show, stay well away from the area. I have just returned from a brief shopping trip at Waitrose supermarket in Ringwood, the traffic is unbelievably busy. Ringwood is about ten miles or so, north of Bournemouth Airport, but it just happens to have the main arterial roads from both London & The South East, and Central England, that motorists use to travel to Bournemouth. It's mayhem!
why is it busier than usual...is there a Diversion somewhere ?

Went up to Glasgow hoping to visit a museum. Unfortunately, bus driver didn't tell us about our stop and we ended up downtown. No museum visit, bummer!

However, we stopped at a Claire's shop and got soft toys (unusual ones for our collections 😁) and a crown band ring in silver, plus a tiara ring with crystals. Daughter got her ring with crystal hearts.

Got cat earring for myself, daughter got dangly foxes. The weather was mostly cloudy all day but whenever the sun peaked out, it was very hot.

Overall, had a funky Friday at the new beginning of a new month, September!

ooooh supernatural..you ended up downtown ?... if only you knew that you could have got a bus from Argyle street city centre.. heading west.. and about 6 stops, later it would have dropped you outside of the Kelvin Hall... ( my old stomping ground ) I used to play Truant from school and spend it in the Museum and Art Gallery... or sometimes the Botanic gardens nearby

A few months ago..I covered my natural wood sideboard top with some Marble style Fblon.. ( contact paper)>..it looked OK.. but nothing special. I left it for about 6 month, and decided to take it off...Boy, what a job that was, it was stuck like superglue.....anyway after using several different scraper tools , I managed to get it all off without any damage to the soft wood underneath.

However the glue has left the wooden top, verrrrryyyyy... sticky.. so I got some sandpaper blocks, and sanded it down lightly..

It's still a little bit sticky.. not really sure what to do..maybe put some sticky stuff glue solvent on it, and then wash it down.. not sure..

It happens every year, the Air Show attracts huge audiences, my guess about the traffic chaos, and it's only a guess, many don't book to stay, or plan the day. It's a case of looking out of the window, the weather is clement, so it's: "Come on kids, in the car, we are off to Bournemouth."

I'm probably being unkind, it's just that it gets so very busy at Air Show time. That and the fact that the money ran out when building the M27. There's a long standing joke on the South Coast, the M27 is so called because it's only 27 miles long. The original plan was for the M27 to link up with the M5 at Exeter in the west and the M20 at Folkestone in the east, with a possible extention to the M2 at Thanet. Huh! Dream on.

Oh happy days fishing on the Avon at Ringwood when it was a delightful place to be. My brother has gone to the airshow for two days and mid-week he was up on the Mimram visiting his son.

I personally wouldn't go down to Bournemouth at all , because it seems to me that the whole of the south East thinks that Bournemouth is the only place with a Beach... .. nuts...!!..and so anyone wishing to vist Bournemouth for other activities are gridlocked in among the beach traffic..

I used to live in Hampshire many years ago.. ( Gosport)> we visited Bournemouth then.. and Christchurch.. but that was long before everyone had a sat Nav and discovered it..

My grandson has a terrible, painful ear infection brought about by 'swimmer's ear.' He saw an ear specialist today. A wick was inserted. I was told it was a horrible procedure. It's killing me to think of him suffering!

Tomorrow they will come over and participate in the cat shelter Zoom meeting. Then we'll do something fun; possibly go to Coney Island for some honky-tonk entertainment to say 'goodbye summer.'

Musing and researching on an autumn trip... would love to 'do' Michigan again, it was so beautiful, but it's a loooonnnngggg drive. Then thought about the southern Ozarks--still a pretty long drive, like 2 full days driving from Americus (western border of GA). Briefly toyed with idea of seeing Oxford, Mississippi (home of William Faulkner and a major college and 'only' a six hour drive) but the more I look into it, it doesn't seem to offer what I'm looking for (mountain vistas with changing/autumn colors). So, back the drawing board...
Oh, lawd, I just re-read this part... I sound like one of those persnickety couples on the Brit real estate show "Location, Location, Location" with Kirsty and Phil! Ack! LOL

Today we went to see the new kitchen designs one of the designers we've had round has done for us. Best of the bunch by far. Not the cheapest, but we both get a really good vibe about this guy and his work, so we've booked him to do it!

Other than that a visit toi the local supermarket for some supplies and I've had a decent Tai Chi and Chi Gong session in the back garden.

All in all a fairly easy day and a relaxing session. Just as well because Likkle Grandson aka 'The Whirlwind' is coming for the day tomorrow! WooooHooooo!:love::love::p
I'm excited about your new kitchen design! Hope you'll post a few pics.

@hollydolly A little late in the day for this helpful hint, but if there's a next time when you need to peel off contact paper, use a hair dryer...start with a low setting and increase heat if needed.

There are so many things I learned as a cleaning fairy.
oooh no not too late Gigi..thank you.. I've got one small side table to do, so I'll use that method... (y)

needed to do a Walmart trip, for a few things……and decided to take time and go through the whole place…..must say…..rather disappointed…..they don’t seem to have the selection they once had…..so, good to know what they do have for the future.
This morning I went to Walmart. So many shelves were empty. Had to go to another grocery store for some of those basics. I’m not sure why this is happening. The catastrophe in all of this was that they didn’t have my ‘Fruit Slices’. Everyone must love them too.

Yesterday I pulled a partial meal from the freezer. It was absolutely delicious and I was trying to remember the recipe I’d used. In the middle of the night I wakened and realized it was a bake-it-yourself meal from Costco.

~Revised my September budget & updated the Family Budget Planner spreadsheet accordingly.
~Cleaned the bathroom.
~Picked up my package from the Amazon hub & did some shopping, including picking up the grocery items I neglected to get yesterday.

~Made a call to PSEG customer service to inquire why they didn’t take out the full balance of my bill, which is on auto pay.
~Took a longer nap than I intended.
~Sorted laundry & disinfected the bags I use to bring them upstairs in after taking them out of the washer.

Holly, nice of you to think of this.....it would I'm afraid be
too hard to use with local traffic, not to speak of just getting
down my "hill" to the street out front...I am thinking of a
walker with seat for in the home however...if I stand for more
than a few mins I starting getting extreme pain in hips/back....
ah well....:coffee:
A blind friend uses the walker with a seat. It came in very handy when we took her to Walmart. I just let her sit out of the way of the busy shoppers while I picked up her items. She's a "big girl" and the seat seemed to be quite comfortable. I hope you find a viable solution. Sorry you are having such pain! 🤗

It's a lovely sunny Saturday here.

I'm driving down to a nature reserve calld Bockholes just off the M6 near Preston, where I'm meeting a couple who are getting married in Liverpool Cathedral next year. I've never shot a wedding there - I hope it's in the Lady Chapel as it's gorgeous! Fingers crossed I get the gig :)

Of course, being a nature reserve, I'm taking the big lens and also the closeup lens for butterflies, dragonflies etc. :)

LOL... some bus drivers are super helpful others not so much ehehe. We're just getting to learn about many routes, we love travelling around. Friday was strange as people weren't helping out. Guess they wanted to get home for weekend, no blame there.

Have another route which sounds better. Bus all the way downtown and underground to museum. However, bit tired today, so we'll go during week as daughter point out, Saturday might be busier than usual.

Going to museums, might sound strange, but we like a quiet experience, it's something to look forward to and to have a relaxing time 😎

Since schools are back on, it'll definitely be quieter in museums and also out of normal tourists season. Cheers!

Ever notice, in my twenty years of posting there has never been a bus driver on a forum.

Morning folks....some sorta outside noise woke me, or a dream
perhaps LOL....still got the "dizzy's", so not fun way to wake up
and get outta bed....oh well.....no plans for the day...little town

Sat Nav? I have fished the Avon from one end to the other, and that was 65 years ago. From the famous "Priory Swim" and "Royalty Fishery" at Christchurch up past so many once magical names, Downtown, Fordingbridge, Ibsley, Winkton and Ringwood to name a few. Plus a pint in the once famous Bull Hotel. Then we have the Vale of Wylie, in which the names of villages are touched with poetry, Boyton, Sherrington, Codford St Mary, Steeple Langford and Little Wishford. Not forgetting the pure magic of the beautiful little river Wylie, Nadder, and Bourne.
Then not forget Sandbanks, one of the most expensive places to live in the world,
