I must confess that I get so jealous when you share pictures. So many beautiful places to go, shop, eat.

Can you believe as I made to drive for home.. drove through the town , and onto the motorway and just as I got on.. there was a Huge accident, this was at the very beginning of the motorway.. and I had frozen and chilled food on board albeit in chill boxes.. but 90 degrees and no AC remember..

I inched forward for about 10 minutes while ambulances and Fire engines were screaming to get through the backed up traffic.. and got through a little junction space in the middle carriageway, even though the traffic on the opposite side was completely backed up to from rubber necking..

It meant I had to travel another 25 miles out of my way to get home.. and then sat for another 10 minutes at a Railways crossing waiting for the trains to go through...I was worried about the food tbh... but of course the poor people who were involved in the accident ( which I couldn't see, except there seemed to be a JCB involved which I think must have mistimed it's exit from a field onto the fast motorway traffic) )... would have been very happy to have exchanged with me.

Thank you Sue, Yes I was totally whacked by the time I'd got back and put all the food away in the freezers etc and got changed. I sat down with my dinner at 6pm and fell asleep until 7.30pm...🥱..so I may be up late again tonight after all

There's a lot of people in the UK who don't have the lovely places we have either and really live in some horrible places..... so we're lucky to live here where we do..
You are not wrong, we lived in Seven Kings after moving out of East London.

Our terraced home is something that many an East Ender would aspire to.

Living where we do, on the Hampshire/Dorset border line
the pace of life is a tad slower, enjoyably so. Would you
believe though, that our Seven Kings home is marginally
more expensive than our currant abode? Such is the draw
of living within the London catchment area.

yes of course I would believe it..I know it to be true.

London Prices are scandalously high, even little shabby terrace houses cost close to half a million in the city......here where I am.. it;s very expensive too.. average property prices are around £2 million, altho' we don't have any shabby terrace houses...... yet 50 miles further north similar properties sell for £500,000

this is where I would have panic attack, not worrying about the food. I am stuck, I can get out of the situation. It is all those possibilties, what if the car overheats, what if I need to get to the loo/bathroom. I just spiral out of control.

I try to make sure if I have to go out, it is before or after rush hour to avoid getting stuck anywhere.

So do I with regard Rush hour... but this wasn't rush hour... and there was really nowhere for people to get out of that situation.. except those like me who either had a Sat Nav Brain like me.. or had Sat Nav in their cars... ..it meant travelling through 25 miles of very narrow country roads which of course had much more traffic than normal due to the accident..which probably would have been broadcast on the Neighbourhood App...

I have to tell you, I was bustin' for a pee... fortunately I had gone to the loo in the pub.. so it wasn't as bad as it could be but if I'd sat in that accident traffic instead of going off through another path.. I may have lost control of my bladder. Goodness knows how long they were sat there..

In fact I'm going to look on our local news and see if it's been reported

i am pretty much the same hon

Nice find on the SS tea set, @Supernatural.

A second wool blanket is going in the washer and then the dryer. First came out well, except for the edging band; I don’t care about that. Many dollars saved.
Thanks @Jules I thought so as well when I spotted it in the shelf. Sadly two were mucky 🤣🤣🤣but a wee bit of elbow grease with my trusty powder dud the trick. I'll finally be able to replace the broken teapot and the coffee one which can't hold 8 cups, our regular pot.

However, 8 cups of water in my coffee machine equals only 3 (10 ounces) cups for me and daughter, 1-1/2 cup each 🤣🤣🤣. Never noticed that the measure was servings of 5 Oz only. I'd never would have bought it ehehe...

Well it would seem the accident happened at 3pm... so when I encountered it , it was 4.30pm, which means all that traffic had already been sitting there for an hour and a half ... in that 90 deg heat....
..goodness only knows how long they were there while the fire fighters released those from their vehicles...might have been several hours...
There's no updates on the accident... ( it's 23.20pm )... except to say that the road is still closed.. which is a major arterial road.. and would have caused absolute chaos today

I can't tell you the number of times I have been out and had the worst happen.
I made it home but only lost it on the drive way or the garage. Once I stood up all heck broke out and that was it.

I have seen other ladies lose control in public places. The only thing you can do is help them get to the ladies to get cleaned up the best you can. I fully realize what has happened, it is not something to feel bad about. You can't help it when this happens.

Fortunately I've never lost control of my bladder yet.. but it's come close sometimes.. A few months ago I was driving through a town in the next county, and I was bustin' so I drove into the car park of a restaurant chain, and used their toilet.. I felt bad because I wasn't buying anything but when you gotta go, you gotta go..

The bane of our existence, having to plan our day and route around the 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

~I had long phone conversations with my granddaughter & BFF this morning.
~Balanced my check books.
~ Helped my son transfer one of my songs from the Clavinova into his Logic program. It will be sent to honorary son #2, who I've asked to rap during the bridge. This collaboration is one I've had in mind for years.

My great granddaughter will be starting school tomorrow. In the spring she had some bruises and the next day was covered in them. Her blood count was so low it was dangerous. The specialists put her on medication and slowly she improved until a couple of weeks ago when she tested normal. If this hadn’t improved, she wouldn’t have been able to start school with so many bugs that little kids spread around.

Jules did they say why her blood count was so low ?
