Woke up at 5 yelling MOMMY MOMMY MOMMY. Have no idea why, don't recall dreaming and besides I yelled her name MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Can't recall ever saying mommy. Oh well, just me starting the day. I feel it can only get better so looking forward to today for no reason at all except I feel hopeful for no reason at all.

Resuming packing stuff from under sinks, covering things with plastic sheets, etc.
Plumber coming later today to open areas in the walls, then tomorrow replaces pipes.

Condo insurance company is demanding this. Too many burst pipes and water damage going on. They've given us 2 years to complete and I am near the end. Costing lottsa money. I'm sick about it.

Then, I have to hire someone to replace the sheet rock in those areas. Have to re-paint as well.

So sorry to hear all this, RadishRose……it must be so frustrating so say the least.

Having lunch, Al fresco, in my yard.

It’s d lovely to have a cool, less-humid breeze that feels like a benediction on my skin instead of the ultra-humid slap from the deep summer air two weeks ago

+ the light has changed from the harsh bleach-the-color-out-of-everything summer light to the mellow, gentler autumn sunlight. Maybe now I can start taking pics again.

Y’all have a great rest-if-the -day! 😘😊😁

wow!! Have you mentioned this before and I've missed it, Rose ?

@CinnamonSugar That's what is is! It's the light. How come it never occurred to me? I'm old, and I'm supposed to know stuff. I couldn't figure out how the temp could be pushing 90, but I could sit outside without melting from the heat. The softer light definitely makes a difference.

It was a reasonable morning at work I think because I got a decent night's sleep...a blessed 8 hours! After work, DD and I went Walmarting, something we've been putting off for a couple of weeks. We were in and out in a mere 45 minutes. Yay us. Got home, put my stuff away, started a load of laundry, ate lunch, sat on the teeny tiny patio with an iced coffee, came in and reconciled my bank statement and am not worn out yet. Woohoo.

If I'm still feeling human in an hour or two I'm gonna...wait for it...Mow. The. Lawn. No kidding. It hasn't been mowed in more than two weeks.

Even if it turns out to be too much for one day, tomorrow's a day off.

I wish @Pepper 's *Cat Coordinator* would haul herself back to work and coordinate the new kitty(ies).

@RadishRose, I'm sorry you have to deal with all this crap, not to mention the expense. It's not unusual to run into problems sooner or later when buildings weren't built up to code in the first place. 😖 That's what building inspectors are for, but that doesn't mean they do their job. Builders get away with a lot, and payoffs are not unheard of.

Hopefully, the plumber will get the pipes done in one day, and at least you'll have running water. It shouldn't take more than a day or two to repair the drywall. It's still a huge PITA, especially when you have to go down the street to pee. 🙄

I hope it all goes well for you. 🤗

Today I've done very little , after yesterdays long jaunt...

Been out several times in the garden , cut back some Ivy, but it's 34 deg C here today ( (34 F).. and it's just too hot to stay out for long..

Yesterday I ran out of water in my windscreen washer ..I thought, so fortunately I always keep a spare bottle in the boot, in case of such emergencies, so I used that to top up.. but it wasn't that, instead it seems the dust has blocked up my washers, so I have to go out shortly and stick a pin down there and remove any blockage

Daughter rang she's just 2 hours north but she said their temps were only 26 today.. and they had fog this morning.. she said it feels very humid where she is... here it's just super hot,,especially indoors with no AC..so I keep the curtains and blinds closed all day except in the kitchen.. and then open them up again in the evening.. which is about now at approaching 6.30pm.. that keeps the rooms much cooler..

@Jules there never was a diagnosis or explanation for your GGD's low blood count? How very strange glad that she's back to normal now. It would have been awful to have to miss her first day of school. Littles really get excited about that "passage" from being a Little to being a Big.

Thanks, Bella,
OMG... that's rotten, Rose, How distressing for you... :(:(
Thanks Holly. Guess what? Plumber can't find the water main outside! This has happened a few times here. The probably buried it when they changed the shrubs. Ass-hats! He won't open the walls /ceiling areas until he's sure he can shut off the water and replace pipes.

Prop. mgmt sending crew to dig. They pay for that. No ETA yet. I don't even care anymore.

Oh I know what that feels like Rose.. it's happened here too.. whenever there's a water problem they can't find the main pipes because they're under next doors Drive... which was once their garden but they had it tarmaced over to make a car Port, and the main stopcock for the 4 houses here is under there .. absolute nightmare.. I feel for you..

Oh, goody! Maybe "we" will have liftoff and a new kitty or two by the weekend. Do they have pix? That's how DD found her kitty. She was just browsing kitty pix and there he was looking right at her and speaking her language. Love at first sight.
