Taking advantage of holiday/qu*et house this AM:

Baked Granola, walked, prayed, dusted, crystals down shower drain...

Replaced chipped cheap decorative plate on wall in kitchen with two Limoges bowls that had been basically hidden previous... Found them years ago in a consignment shop for (relatively) pennies... might as well show them off and 'class up' my work space

Booked a hotel room for late October in Hot Springs, Arkansas. I kept dithering and shilly-shallying about it and finally just told myself, "Just DO it, for heaven sakes!" (See Diaries entry for more details, if you are interested.)

Today is a holiday for those in the workaday and school-going world, so I'll stay off the roads and out of the stores. No sense adding to the crowds - I can hit the grocery stores tomorrow or the next day.

Need to do some spreadsheet work today for business and also for a HS reunion that I'm helping organize. I do love Excel!

This has not been my week. I woke suddenly and painfully with a cramp in my leg. Jumped out of bed quickly to walk off the pain and took a dive! I scraped my knee and am aching in various spots but nothing's been broken! One great thing, though. Bleeding of cancer has stopped and my mood has improved along with it! 😃

Oh thank goodness the bleeding has stopped... and hopefully no harm done too much from the fall.... do take care ..

I'm home and worn out after only 3 hours.

@CinnamonSugar Dilly dallying, shilly shallying! Glad you finally made a decision ;) My daddy used to tell me to make a decision and be done with it, right or wrong. He was ahead of his time: Just Do It! Could have made a fortune with Just Do It!

@Old Salt Good grief. We can't leave you alone for a second! Same goes for @hawkdon.

@hollydolly I have a mental picture of you, hatted and covered with cobwebs.

@Pepper When do "we" hear about kitty(ies)?

There are things to do in the garden. Maybe after a nap. It's too nice a day to stay indoors, but I'm worn out.

I was put in touch with a cat coordinator but it seems she is on Holiday

Waiting to go to a doctor's appointment, not that I want to go and not that I ever go. Phoned and same a day appointment, good grief , I am only going to stop my wife from nagging. So hanging about and hanging about, ruddy boring. Time flies when you are having fun.

This morning I took the lady to hospital for, you wouldn't believe, a shoe fitting. She suffers with Morton's neuroma, a thickening of the tissue around one of the nerves leading to your toes. This can cause a pain in the ball of your foot and a numbness in the affected toes.

It wasn't exactly a shoe fitting, her podiatrist has taken her feet and toe measurements so that shoe inserts, that help relieve the symptoms, can be made. Afterwards we went in Salisbury for a reward of coffee and cake.

Later this afternoon, my tailor texted me to tell me his partner, had been diagnosed with cancer, I'm not sure and didn't ask, how severe. My wife and I have been invited to their wedding in a rather hurried couple of weeks time. Life can be so unjust.

This is strange. I have Diabetes II as well as Neuropathy and always blamed both/or either for numbness in my toes and pain in the balls of my feet. I am sure I don't have Morton's Neuroma since I experience it in both of my feet, but it's strange that someone else has to struggle with the same symptoms.

On top of the pain in the balls of my feet, I also have the sensation of walking on gravel as well as the feeling that my feet are moving in cold water. With Diabetes your feet are supposed to feel numb, so I keep thinking something else might be at work here! Awful what your nerves can do to you, so my sympathies to your Lady! And sorry to be inserting myself into the conversation, I was just struck by the similarities!

installed new water heater today saved lots of money doing it myself.not easy to do with a sore back but I pushed thru it.dont know how much longer I can do things on my own.sad day when I have to hire some one to do things I have always done on my own.:(

Flew to Mexico City today. Plane left on time, got in a bit early and then we sat on the runway for almost an hour.

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride to our apartment. The traffic there has to rank up there with the top three worst in the world. It's a suicide/homicide drag race. The winner gets to keep his car/motorcycle/bus/truck and his life.

Pedestrians beware, too. I found out, though, if I shake my cane at them, about half of them will stop at crosswalks. Nobody wants to run down an old Abuela. Bad ju-ju.

City is beautiful. Gorgeous parks, buildings and churches. Food? Oh, the food. Tonight I had marinated lamb tacos and broiled cactus. Also a few bites of chicken mole and beans, guacamole and just a dab of the hottest salsa this side of the Devil's Cantina. I should have the feeling back in my tongue by Thursday. Some sort of alcoholic orangeade helped.

As a guy living alone, my chance to brag :D about what I did this morning.
Given the cool air today, moving lots of stuff about, double vacuumed my downstairs living/dining room and then with knee pads on Lysol scrub pad and water sponge cleaned my small kitchen tile floor. Then post processed 2 of 3 stitch blend sections of a photo subject.

And this afternoon, after 2+ hours of urban street exercising at an upscale commercial district, came home and seem to have a thing for as I occasionally walk by, picking up a 1.5 liter Barefoot Sweet Red Blend wine bottle.
