Dio had a follow up appointment from his surgery last May....it did not go well. He was in there for a long time, again. It turns out that they removed cancer from 5 more places, and took a biopsy from his chin. 😥 I sure hope he heals up with less issues this time!

During the night, we had some pretty bad thunder storms come through here. Lightening struck the power box one one of our electric fences. The transformer (literally) blew up! Because of the storms, I decided to check the fences in the morning instead of the evening like I usually do. This way, if any branches fell and broke a wire, I could unplug the fence right away. When I got there, there was no power box......just shrapnel everywhere!!! So I ended up unplugging it anyway.

Apparently, the lightning caused a power surge and our PC doesn't work. Dio has looked into the possible issues. He ordered a replacement part for what he thinks (hopes!!!!) is fried. If that part doesn't fix it, we will need a new PC. For now, it's tablet use only.

So, not the best of days, here. Dio was planning on taking that fence down over the winter. It looks like he will be having an early start. In the mean time, I have shrapnel to clean up.

Oh I hope things get better @Trila.

Absolutely perfect weather in the afternoon. It’s fall in the north so a bit nippy while doing my morning walk. Went downtown and wandered about. Had another walk around home in the afternoon. It was an early day, early lunch and dinner was finished my 6. I’m just about done too.

Ran into a friend I hadn’t seen in a couple of years. Her life has deteriorated with a terrible disease. We exchanged new phone numbers and will meet up soon for a long lunch. Time goes by too quickly.

Much preparation today ready for the weekend. Friday & Saturday, Goodwood Revival. Goodwood is at Chichester and an easy drive for us along the south coast, we are driving home after the Saturday night Revival dance.

Sunday will see us at The West Somerset Heritage Railway, where the entire weekend is a 1940's recreation. Many of our friends will spend the entire weekend there, we are looking forward to joining them on the Sunday.

Pondering on how people don't clean tea/coffee pots on a regular, after each use, schedule...

My wonderful tea/coffee set from BHF was an eye opener. 5 Stainless steel pieces by SONA from Stratford-upon-Avon. Two pieces were on display, the other three in the box.

Once we got home, the tea pot was black and the coffee was yellowish brown. YUCK!

I really didn't expect that... But, using tips and tricks, the coffee pot is sparkling again like new. Sadly the teapot's black tannin is gone, but I'm left with a dull grey surface in the inside. Bummer!

At home, growing up, we had an antique silver set. It had been in the family forever. Due to the multiple associations my parents belonged to, that set was in constant use every single weekend.

I was put in charge of cleaning it to make tea and coffee, before the events. Then, I had to empty leftovers, wash in and out AND of course, polish them again in readiness for next event.

No one would put up with a dirty coffee or tea cups, saucers, spoons or pots. They would have been horrified... Which meant that when the set finally came to me, I promptly sold the darn thing at auction. Polish blistered hands nightmares, no thanks.

However, after each pot of tea or coffee, everything gets cleaned up.

So, still checking online to find a solution to the last bit of grey into new tea pot. It's a pondering day 🤔🤔🤔

Glorious sunny day again... verrrry hot in the night, so I had to put the tower fan on all night... set to be 86.. today.. 81 deg now...

I'm just having a cuppa tea.. back is playing up, if it feels better in an hour I'm going up country... so we'll see what happens...

@hollydolly Whattaya gonna do up country? And how far up country?

It's gonna be a nice day again, and so far I feel fine. Out to the garden with me.
Oh just about 60 mile round trip...little market town for shopping , and a Historic mill...

Gonna have to get a wriggle on, or else I'll get caught in the school and rush hour traffic on the return journey

Today will be another scorcher but the weekend will be very nice with some more needed rain. These hot days I'm doing inside chores.
I tailored some walnut colored jeans for fall. Purchased at the thrift store, they are a brand I like and brand new. I had to hem and tailor but now they fit perfect. They were $1.99! I would have bought the same pair at a dept store but no walnut color in petite size so this was an excellent find.
Makes me wonder. There were a few pair, same size, new with tags. Maybe stolen and sold? I hope not, but I made out.
