What do you think happens after Death?

I posted this already in another thread here on SF, but here it is again since I agree with it:

Rejoice for believers, the chances that you ended up on Earth for a few nanoseconds is a number so long it would take millions of years to write it down. Then not satisfied with in effect winning the lottery for billions of years running they are not content with being part of this planet of wondrous beauty, they want to go on to somewhere better.
 
I watched a video of someone in their 20's(?) who came back to life after being pronounced medically (brain dead) for a period of time.

He said in his video that every moment in his life literally flashed before his eyes during his 'death', and then it was just nothing...It was like a dreamless sleep before he regained his consciousness/came 'back to life'.

I think the life we experience is some interpretation of our brain activity. So when we die...all the activities in our brain stop, so...we just experience nothing.
 
I think it's all over. Sadly. It's hard for me to deal with. So maybe I can leave something behind for others to remember me for? Anyone else? :unsure: :unsure:
 
Only two possibilities as I see it.

We just die, like a light bulb burning out! Blink, you are gone, you don't even know you are gone because "YOU" no longer exist!

or

We die and some element of who we were continues...afterlife of some kind exists! We may or may not be aware of this...

Neither option should be feared. If you simply are gone, you will not know it! If you still exist in some form you may or may not be aware of it. Either way, I see nothing to fear here either.
 
The answer to this question depends on whether you are religious or not.

I personally believe we are made of stardust, and in 5 billion years we will again become stardust. I also believe I have a soul that will then be floating in the universe in search of a new home planet. In other words, I simply cannot accept that everything should be over when I die. There must be something of myself that will survive forever. Perhaps that's as close as I get of being a religious person.

Intriguing question: are we merely a reincarnation of previous earthlike planets?

BTW, I had some rather strange experiences in my life where I felt my mother in heaven was guiding me into the right direction. There is something we cannot logically explain. I suppose the basis of all religions is to change the unknown into something we can understand.

I know for sure that, on very rare occasions, I have transmitted my thoughts to someone else. Years ago I took a university class where the professor stated research has shown that humans are on the point of developing a new super-brain. And then we can go on to topics of paranormal and near-death experiences. Well, let's not start writing a book.

The bottom line: there are experiences that defy explanation, and they make us believe that we have a soul.

Below is a 30 minute neuroscience presentation by Susan Atoasoy of electromagnetic harmonic wave oscillations in the brain. The key to understanding these begins with a short video at 2:45 with how this relates to our human brain for a few minutes after starting at 7:00.


That is what my above post is about, not some mumbo jumbo metaphysical creation of philosophers but rather hard science that in this era is under rapid development. When UIEs communicated with early science ignorant homo sapiens, if they did, they may have described such in a simple ways that over millennia have evolved to what we today call spirit or soul. So when Jesus, IMO sent by UIEs relates one's soul is saved into eternal life spirit life using special "water", he was IMO referring to the waves referenced by the above brain researcher. When an organic Earth animal dies, those wave fields cease to exist because the flesh and blood organic containers they require to exist within degenerates rapidly within minutes to non-functional states resulting in brain death.

This is very true. People who believe in a god, and an afterlife are very comforted and certain that they will still exist after death.

years ago I had a urology problem that required a stent. I was out like a light, don't know if my doctor was present, I was given an injection for the proceedure that contained iodine which I am allergic too. As I was waking up, I had difficulty breathing, could not talk as they
had a breathing tube already down my throat. Guess my lungs filled and I stopped breathing, I knew what was happening when
I had a cardiac arrest. During my eternal resting period nothing flashed before my eyes. Guess I was not dead enough ???
Not looking for a next tme...............
 
It is a known fact that some people have come back to life after near death experiences, and have reported dream like conditions. But after actual death experiences, no one has reported such dream like conditions.

Oddly, both nothing happens, and something happens. Nothing happens because death is the end, it's over at that point. Nothing more will happen to you as a person. Something happens in that there's a used up, ragged, body to be dealt with.

Other than that, some believe in a soul, or life spirit. Buddhists like to think we return, whilst Christians think we (hopefully) go to heaven, wherever or whatever that is. I can see how a belief in such a thing is a comfort. I mean, it's pretty harsh to accept we simply live and then die. Yet that's where I find myself. One day I'll be posting on a message board, and the next I won't. It's as simple as that, I think.
 
Approximately two hours or so after death, rigor mortis begins … then later on when you are buried decomposition commences.

No one knows what happens after that and if they say they do, then they are delusional. However, this does not prevent us from having our own beliefs.

Mine is, the soul and spirit ( consciousness) leave the body. It travels on. It is electromagnetic energy. We are all made up of EM energy and this energy, when it leaves the body returns to the source of that energy… the stars.
Earth, humans, and all living creatures are made from stars. This is not a fairy story…it is fact…do some research and find out for yourself.

No… we do not return as something else…we do not reincarnate…there is absolutely no scientific proof that reincarnation exists. This is the one life we have…so do good and live as happily and joyously as you can or you might end up in a black hole when you hit the electromagnetic field!

According to Nostradamus, the world is going to end in the year 3797. So enjoy while you can. Lol.
