First time I saw one I thought it was some kind of strange drinking fountain... Took many trips to Europe and Asia to finally figure out what one was for and how it might work... They need directions.

My parents house built in early 1900's in metropolitan NY area had 3 of them, but were unused after our family moved in and seemed to be a place to put a potted plant.
We recently remodeled our primary bathroom and added one and so we don't have to worry about running out of tp ever again.

The first thing I made sure we took with us when we moved 5 years ago was our Bidet. I love it and even bought one for our 2nd bathroom. I still dry my butt with toilet paper and I bought one for my daughter and my sister. I love using it and feels so much cleaner.

We use the Biffy Bidet, a swinging arm which attaches to the toilet. It's not a matter of using less toilet paper (though one does), but of getting clean ... that is, no "smearing". Feels great, and we don't like being without it.
