TV "news anchors" simply read what's handed to them and newspapers basically copy/paste reports that land on their desks and laptops. There aren't many investigative journalists around anymore, only people who can write sensational headlines.

We are privy to all kinds of news/information. I was talking about Palestinians in Gaza without outside communication and relying on what Hamas is feeding them. How do we reach them?

I'm being facetious. Although, what could it hurt?

If by "We" you mean Christian-Judea-Agnostic-Atheist-European-Westerners with virtually unimpeded access to all sorts of media, we don't have a prayer in hell of reaching them.

They only have each other, really, and they are comforted, guided and informed only by their religious beliefs and their religious leaders. I suspect most of them are fine with that.

For most of my exsistance [74 yrs] it seems the Jews are/have been hated by most of the Arab world around them. Not to mention Hitler & the Nazi's.

Ya have to wonder why ?

I have no Axe to grind with them. I have however grown more leary with the Arabs in recent years. Their interest / influence behind the 9/11 attacks come to mind ... and now this .

That IS interesting. Sound like the BBC got on the wrong wagon, and they're gonna have to rearrange their priorities ...again.

I think our CNN is having the same experience.
 
Millenniums ago, all the people of the region were brothers ... well, half brothers. All descendants of Ishmael and Isaac, sons of Abraham by two different wives. It might be pointed out that friction in the region precedes Islam and Muhammad. It goes back thousands of years. And it is the offspring of Ishmael still seeking the birthright of Isaac. Muhammad simply dressed it all up as a religion as recently as some 1500 years ago.
 
News sources are saying that Hamas has released 2 American hostages, a mother and daughter, who are now in the custody of the Red Cross.

Apparently they are now in Egypt and will eventually be passed into Israel. The word is that there are still 201 hostages in Hamas hands. No names so far.

I wasn't raised with religion, and still do not follow. As such, I am fairly ignorant of the differences , and the entire area.

I have a bible [don't know where I got it] maybe I'll try reading a bit of it.

Must admit, as a non believer ... it may be hard to stay with it.

Actually not what the Quran says, but does say that the crucifixion and resurrection were made up stories and in fact that they did not kill Jesus. (4-157)

Jesus in the Quran was a messenger of Allah, but not the son of Allah.
Nor do they believe in the holy trinity. Allah is one god and is far above having a son. (4-171)

I'm talking after diaspora by the Romans. I'm speaking of Europe. @rgp asked why Jews were persecuted for 2,000 years, leading to the Nazi's.
