Am I the only one who's tired of Boomer Bashing?

Disagree. They are entitled to steer the ship when it's their turn, just as every generation previous to them has done.
If you're talking about Congress and the Ruling Elite, I agree. A bunch of demented old farts. But be careful what you wish for! Goodbye, Constitution. Hello, Communism. dictatorship, central casting via the UN.

Maybe I'm too old but I don't even recall any "Generation ?" when I was a young person. How can someone really know what life was like, enough to put a name on it. if they weren't even created 'til years later ?

:) That's the beauty of us human-type beings. We write things down and put them into books. We have to know the 'Why' of everything, I don't know why.

I'm another one that is not reading boomer bashing even though I use news aggregating web sites like Google News, because I suspect those articles are on post smartphone media social media sites that I am not on, especially all their blogs.

The term "boomer" is misused. It paints a broad swath over ills and issues caused by significant minorities of the population. Most of our issues can point to the Military Industrial Complex, Wall Street, university Ivory Tower elites and their globalization agendas. During most of the main so called boomer decades, it was actually the wealthy of the earlier generation that still had political control and formed policy.

One older thread bearing on the subject:

Debunking this myth about Baby Boomers also reveals something about Gen Z

Not one that likes being referred to as a "Boomer". Most of that fit that label as now used were on the East Coast. Historians analysis of recent generations before their time tend to get much wrong. A majority of Americans were not anti-war until the early 1970s and hated hippies that news media continually fed with the worst stories. The portrayal in Easy Rider was close to the truth. It is true some of those in each generation fit supposed characteristics but in all generations there are many that do not. Pigeonholing generational groups like that lacks wisdom and spews historical inaccuracy.

Some of the responses make me wish I'd never bothered to post. For those of you who haven't heard the term "Boomer" and all the perceived negative cr@p that goes along with it, haven't ever heard a jeering "Hey, Boomer," I say y'all live in a vacuum.

Then there's the derogatory "ok boomer" if you dare to have an opinion not matching theirs....

I didn't finish reading all the posts.

Yes, I will admit I live in a vacuum.

I haven't seen two of my grand daughters since the COVID happened.
Guess that means I don't have to hear them bash us?

Recently I was given a short bio of my mother in laws life.
She grew up poor,, the family went days without food.
I think she said whatever wild animal they could catch .

Her father chased her mother through the woods with a loaded shot gun.

Yes,, I'm making copies for my sons & my granddaughters.
I'm thinking the grands are going to believe it.

:) Life was hard, we didn't have entitlements to fall upon. Either we did, or we died.

Is there a source or example of Boomer Bashing that someone can point to?

I don't live in a bubble by any means, but I'm just not seeing it.

I do see countless instances [here] of Gen X, Millennials & Gen Z bashing...
I have heard it and seen in even in one of my own children.... i am not in the date range but close enough ... many young people are being taught the idea of this have sat when a group of my sons friends all joined in half made little sense but made them feel better to blame a label because i know peopel who are in the date range are not all alike and one size fits all.... one of the reasons i hate labels on groups.

On the local FB groups, Boomer bashing is common. A large % of the population is retired; we own all the houses, though I’m not sure where we’re supposed to live. We can’t drive or don’t drive fast enough; checking the accident stats it would seem their driving fast hasn’t been that successful. One woman rants all the time about Boomers. Anyone who is in the 50s should be quitting so she can have a job and a nice place to live. I’d like to suggest she improve her education and manners; she might find a job.

Why is that funny?
For one, the name boomer is funny ( to me )
That whole generation naming is just another way for society to divide & conquer Something I refuse to do.
Check out “boomer hate” on Reddit.
No thanks. Why would I want to read something that may make me feel horrible.
Taking things too seriously can cause a bad attitude so I limit myself now. It works quite well.

By the way, apparently I’m a boomer.
I don’t care what others think of me. In fact, what they think of me is none of my business and minding my own business is a key to happiness. ( for me )

Who are they, exactly, and how to they (woke folks) plug into this equation?
I can site an example of some "woke folks" that completely disregarded "ageism".

I worked at the community college for 29 years, and in the last 10 years, much emphasis was placed on "equity". I had no problem with that except that racism and discrimination against those with differing lifestyles was not much of a problem, if one at all at our campus. It just was not, for sure not with faculty, and I do not recall even any student problems. There were problems in the local area at times, but not on our campus. On the other hand, there was "ageism" in play on the part of students toward faculty or younger faculty toward aging faculty. I experienced it. Yet not a word was mentioned in our day-long duty days filled with all kinds of inclusion speakers.

With respect, children are entitled to not be starved, beaten, sexsh ly assaulted, trafficked, etc.
:) Of course they are, everyone is entitled to no end of good things. Everyone should be spoiled actually.
In a perfect world. But ours is not a perfect world and we don't always get what we're entitled to.
