Rosalyn Carter, former first lady and longtime spouse of President Jimmy Carter has passed away in hospice. She was 96.

Say what you want about Carter's Presidency but they were probably best and classiest first couple out of office ever. They were devoted to each other and very philothranpic being big advocates for organizations like Habitat for Humanity.

Even here in the Uk those of us who remember the Carters had much respect for them.. she lived a good age,
This photo was taken of her just yesterday...she was suffering from dementia...

Exceptional, lovely lady. He was 2.5 years old when he met her as a baby. Mr. Carter's famous mother, Miss Lillian, helped in Rosalind's delivery into this world. She took toddler Jimmy to the hospital to meet his future wife!!!!!!!!

At least they were in Home Hospice care together, as their grandson Jason said the best thing for them.

I actually wept when i heard. I don't often do that about entertainers or politicians/public figures. i think Betty White may have been the last one i reacted that way about tho i did feel very sad when Gordon Lightfoot died.

I think it was yesterday or the day before I heard she entered Hospice. She must have been very ill to pass so quickly after entering hospice. My Mom lasted 3 months after she entered. RIP Rosilyn.
