  • On Amazon, just ordered for $35 total incl tax, 3 each 256 gigabyte USB 3.0 130 mb/s flash drives for more data back-up use.
  • And also at Amazon for $27, 2 each thermal polyester spandex compression leggings with pockets for this coming ski season.
  • Will process some monthly USPS mail bills.
  • About noon have a KP hospital appointment to get poked in left arm for a monthly blood test. Back home will see what my hemocrit level is now at.
  • On way home will visit supermarket adding some Thanksgiving dinner food.
  • Otherwise as I find time today, will take a break from my online Youtube science readings to review a couple old college argument, debate, fallacies books that my old brain seems to be losing working knowledge of.

My plan today is to bake cranberry bread. It was my plan yesterday too but I didn't get it done. So far I have not gotten up from the computer since breakfast, tho I'm blaming my laziness on the water in the kitchen having been off due to the next door apartment getting some plumbing work. The water is back on now so I've lost that excuse.

I hope I can figure out how to turn on the oven, I haven't used it at all since I moved in, and it is brand new but I know it should work because the realtor and I watched the inspector testing everything last year before I bought the place. The inside of the oven is blue, it looks so weird to me.

@hollydolly What a nice thing to happen. There are good people out there!

It's cold and raining with yet another front rolling through. We have a tornado watch in effect for a couple of hours.

I'm home in case y'all haven't guessed. There were some really pretty tea roses in the floral department this morning. As I walked past them, they were crying and begging me to take them home. So I did🌹. They're in a vase on a table behind the sofa and smiling at me:)

My morning? Um. That woman! I hope she gets warts and ugly toenail fungus. Learned this morning that she actually argued with the district manager on Saturday when he told her that the cookie tables were empty and to bake cookies. She told him no because she was too busy and had cupcakes to decorate. Whaaaat? Argued. With the district manager. Hijo! Chihuahua!

He told her to do both. She did and then left them there. Saturday. Today is Tuesday. The cookies are still sitting on the trays. Sir was not pleased, said she was not going to be let off the hook and would be packaging them today. Or else.

Pfffft. Or else? Or else what? They aren't going to unload her until the store manager where her replacement works now allows her to leave. At least two weeks. Then? Mark my words: "they" will decide that it's mean to fire her just before Christmas.

There's more but it'll just make me angry all over again. She's oblivious to the fact that the thin ice she was skating on cracked and drifted away weeks and weeks ago.

On a more pleasant note, I'm off tomorrow. Gonna bake pumpkin pies and do laundry. I know y'all are jealous. Don't be hating on me;)

Oooo...forgot to mention that DD bought me a cherry Stollen the other day. Nothing says Christmas like a cup of tea or coffee and a piece of Stollen. Aldi carries a really good brand, Winternacht. A few weeks ago I bought some Lebkuchenherzen and have been rationing them (the jelly-filled ones). Yum.

Nope you can keep yer stollen, I won't be askin' for any of that you'll be happy to hear... especially a cherry one.. *ugh*... I cannot bear it..

There's some scary stories published, if you're in the reading mood. Not totally completed but basics done. Tada!

Goodnight dear SF friends.

Today, I took 2 Bags of Donation for the charity shop. Now, in the town I was in..it's very difficult to find a parking space on the road near the charity shop.. so I was lucky to have a car pull out as I approached, and I was able to get the space.. just about 50 yards from the shop...but there's only 30 minutes parking allowed or face a £100 fine

I carried the heavy bags only to get there and see a sign saying they weren't accepting any donations today..it was pouring of rain, I had only a gilet on.. no hood.. so I had to turn back to the car.. and I knew if I moved from that space I wouldn't find another space 1/2 a mile further on where another Charity shop was.. so I just walked.. got soaked, and my arms were killing me by the time I reached the shop.. and then walked back to the car... They do say no good turn goes unpunished.....lol:D mind you that said..maybe that's why I found that lovely helpful little garage

~45 minute chat with Hulu agent, troubleshooting 2 issues. Now there's another problem! I think I'll call & speak with a techie tomorrow. What is this with service getting worse after prices go up?! Same thing happened with Netflix.

~Made two packs of sanitizing/electronic wipes using Kirkland baby wipes, cut in half & saturated with 70% alcohol.
~Caught up with some threads here on the forum.

The area above my bathtub insert/shell/? is painted and I've noticed mildew/mold developing in patches from the frequent moisture, so I decided I would tackle that today. Got up on a Rubbermaid step stool (all one piece) in the tub but it didn't feel very secure. Put that rubbery/nobby shelf liner stuff under the feet. Improvement, but still I felt insecure... hand towel placed on the top step. Better but my better judgement said, "This Is Probably Not Your Most Brilliant Idea" Completed and will let someone else handle it next time. Don't need a fall in the tub.

Made corn bread and stewed some apple slices (the apple was meh raw) with cinnamon, then drizzled with melted butter and just a teensy bit of maple syrup. That should make a nice dessert.

Picking up last min. groceries for our family gathering tomorrow. Trip to the library for books.

Y'all have a great day!
CS...I have a recipe similar to yours for apples. My son, grandchildren and I love it. I call it Apple Phufff-fff-ffft (can say it but really don't know how to spell it 😂). It's sort of like having apple pie without the crust. I sautee the apple slices, sans peelings, in I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray. I swear that stuff makes everything taste better. I sprinkle cinnamon and sugar (if for them) and Splenda (if for me) and cook, stirring occasionally until they are golden brown. It makes the kitchen smell so good. Enjoy yours.

Did some shopping and wandering around while DH had a dental appointment. Since I wasn’t doing any serious walking and it was a beautiful day, I wore my new coat, just to try it out. Had three ‘love your coat’ from different people on the street. (it’s a small town, people talk to strangers). Ended up at a Chinese food restaurant. We always order our three favourites to have enough for dinner the next day. We ask for the Szechwan beef to be mild. This time it had no bite. A few minutes later the waitress returned and said she gave us the beef dish from another table. No charge. We’ll be eating leftovers for a couple of meals as a minimum.

The rest of the day was the usual housework, laundry and walking. Finished up with Mike Birbiglia’s latest standup special.

I only got up because Maggiecat made me. The rain has stopped, and it wasn't real chilly so I drank my coffee on the patio.

Wow. Local news is showing wall-to-wall peeps at the airport already at 5am. Imagine what it's gonna be like later on!

Today is laundry and pumpkin pies and making dressing for tomorrow and whatever all else I can do ahead.

If y'all wouldn't mind, remind me from time to time to keep on keeping on. It's way too easy to sit down and stay sat ;)

Laundry started. One load in dryer, one in washer. Dressing made and in fridge. Pie in oven. Brandied cranberries made couple of weeks ago.

Since I have to be at work at 5 tomorrow morning, gonna make sausage/cheese muffins tonight. DSIL has to work tomorrow, too, and takes something to eat, so muffins will already be done.

Waiting until tomorrow night to make pumpkin pie for DS/DSIL's visit on Friday.

What'll I do now? The Hovel could stand to be vacuumed. And dusted. I think I "just" dusted a month or two ago.

When the dryer is done, gotta make the bed. Why? There are three sets of sheets so why wash one set and put them back on? Because they're a PITA to fold, that's why.
