Just got back from the barbers, off out now, to buy the lady her fragrances for Christmas. Later, weather permitting, we are taking our vintage MG on a heritage run. In the winter, at the height of Christmas shopping, we must be mad.

This evening we are joining a lot of other cotton buds for a tea dance, more like shuffle.
Cotton buds? White haired oldies like us, look like a pack of those Q Tips, cotton wool on a little stick.

Tomorrow, after we have been to church, we are off to Titchfield Community Centre with friends for Sunday Afternoon Sugar Push.

The sugar push is one of the basic moves of Lindy Hop and all swing dances.
Hopefully we don't break anything, later that evening, a table at The White Rabbit
country pub in Lyndhurst, is booked, where we can enjoy the company of
good friends over meal. Quite looking forward to it.

I got up at 5:30 AM, fell asleep early, last night ,and missed my shows.
But I am staying home for the day to clean and get some stuff ready for our church auction next week.
Our Youth group members get points for the many things they do for the church and community and they can bid the points on the auction stuff. Mainly, things they can give to a sibling or their parents for Christmas.

I asked the Pastor if they all get a good amount of points and he said they all do, and they all love the auction.

I need to thaw something out for dinner, and maybe a good movie will be on TV.

Yesterday it was 60 degrees here for a little while ,but today will be sunny but lower then 50 degrees.

I am 90% done with my Christmas shopping. Most of it was done at amazon.

Me, too, jet, ugh, still so sick here. Last time covid not as bad as this, this really bad. Better clean up today or my neighbors might report they haven't seen me and there's a stench................how embarrassing would that be? My cats have been so patient, I'll give them that! I'm complaining. Sorry!

Busy weekend ahead... Went shopping for mid-month missing items. Bread, milk, condensed milk, eggs & pads. Found Christmas Yule Log at Food Storage, it's Galaxy's. Yummy!

Found Danish Butter Biscuits; peanut butter filled Christmas trees; Maple Flavoured Fudge, Raisins and Nuts. Treats for us, and two Christmas crackers for CoffeeBean's presents under the tree.

Just going to tuck into our lunch of turkey salads sandwich and soups. Afterwards, we've got to empty the Ikea glass cabinet to unplug aerial and satellite, then we need to fill the hole with plaster putty.

Repacking Ikea cabinet, hoover the house and take a break. Three new films to watch for holidays.

Sunday, clearing area for tree, getting decorations from the cupboard under the stairs, and let daughter do her part, I'm not allowed 🤣🤣🤣 it's her domain. She fixes the tree from top to bottom.

My part, I do the crèche, the village and install the train station and the musical train.

Hopefully, will be done by Monday evening as Tuesday it's washing day...

Feeling a little guilty after giving away part of a gift. There was a handmade knit scarf and a little Christmas pin, which I presumed was just a little extra that she was regifting. I would normally just put it aside and then donate it later next year. Instead I donated now thinking someone might like it. When talking to my friend, she’d actually bought it for me thinking I could wear it now. Ahh, now I feel guilty and depressed about getting rid of something I’d never wear. I can’t convince her to give up exchanging gifts. Also, I don’t need the scarf either. Now I’m going to the thrift store today to buy the pin back, if it’s still there.

I left early today because I felt like it. Well, that and everything I needed to do got done. Why did everything get done? Because NL actually works, too! She's such a treasure, and I'm so glad she works with us now.

It's overcast and coolish, but I sat on the patio anyway with the cup of coffee that's my treat when I get home every day.

Nothing really needs to be done around The Hovel. Maybe I should consider digging out my little ceramic tree🎄

What a relaxing day! Older daughter and younger granddaughter came over; while loads of wash were in process, we made a trip to Walmart (and survived), ate homemade chicken-veggie soup and corn bread and then played cards. Instrumental Christmas music played in the background. Lovely time catching up and unwinding =D

I went out and puttered around in the back yard. Nope, no dead wood to cut, but I did take down a small redbud and saw it up and stack it to season. Not much, maybe enough for two fires with the small branches as kindling.

These are pretty for maybe 3 weeks in Spring, but darned invasive too. Here is a picture of some from 2010 when the first arrivals encroaching over a fence had begun to flower.

Huh. They look very pink there, though in person they are a lot more lavender than that.

I got a good rest last night, and for several days prior. I've been sleeping in the center of the bed, so I'm afraid it means that the mattress is getting too squishy on the sides (I rotate it occasionally, but it is not designed to flip over).

While making my breakfast I either had a senior moment or a distracted moment because I poured water on my cereal instead of milk. It was mini wheat n bran cereal so it survived having the water poured off and milk put on. I think I was just distracted because I was remembering the much larger size shredded wheat biscuits of my childhood and thinking about how we used to put sugar on those, and wondering how often we refilled our little sugar bowl back in the day.
