Merry Christmas to you and your daughter @Supernatural :giggle:
Thank you @Pinky As you're near the lakes, I imagine you either have lots of snow or none at all...due to the Lake-effect! I remember a friend in Oshawa used to talk about this.

Three things I loved about Toronto:

The CN Tower (we still have cocktail glasses in the shape of the tower from the restaurant atop)
The City Hall with the two building and the saucer-shaped UFO in the middle (still have the 1500 pieces puzzle)
The now very changed, I heard, shopping centre downtown.

Woke up at dawn and bundled up warmly with temperatures outside a chilly 41F, then went to a 7am Sunday mass wearing an N95 mask. Forecast, sunny, calm, 60F later, so may take a short walk around the block later. Made an amazon buy a few minutes ago. Likely watch some of the NFL Cowboys Dolphins game this afternoon. Expect a quiet Christmas Eve day at home today.

Yesterday a distant old friend I've had many exciting adventures with phoned and my favorite brother came by with two of his freshly baked cinnamon loaves. I so greatly love the wonderful Christmas's my beloved mother and father gave our loving family so will be thinking of them with a few warm tears ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

We sent out 2 or 3 cards through the post this year. All the rest were e-cards that we subscribe to.

I hope you are able to get together with your daughter over the holidays .. and the weather doesn't hamper you @hollydolly
yes I sent sll ecards out this year except my neighbours cards which I delivered by hand.

My daughter didn't even give her neighbours or workmates cards.. she said, she had. no intention of giving cards to people she sees every day..

Yesterday, I brought our Nerf guns to the roller rink. Dio and I skated around, shooting each other!!

We spent the day skating, eating (!!!), and visiting with friends. It was a wonderful day!

I'm completely ready for Santa tonight. 🎅 Nothing more to do but enjoy the Holiday. This afternoon we might watch Krampus, to get into the Christmas spirit!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday!

Took loaf of blueberry to the neighbors,,,, whom I thought had dropped off a gift.

OOPS:whistle:
As we stood taking to gentleman of the house,, his wife hands us a gift bag.
a,a,a,,,,You didn't drop off something yesterday?

No.

We smiled & thanked them,, talked a while longer.
Hurried home & I rummaged in the waste can,,finding a paper with names on it.

The gifts I found were from our helper & his wife.

Lovely day at the bakery. Nobody demanded anything outrageous. One customer had Sir write "Happy Birthday Jesus" on a cake. I found out today that I'll be getting paid for six days next week instead of five because the store is closed on Monday (my usual day off) for which we get holiday pay. Yippee.

The rest of the store? Bedlam! People must be taken by surprise when December 24 rolls around. "What? Christmas is tomorrow? Who knew?" Because, yanno, there's never any warning...

Hash brown casserole ready to be baked tomorrow and in fridge.
Pineapple ready to be baked tomorrow and in fridge.
Hard boiled eggs cooling and waiting to be peeled and go in fridge.

And the good news is that DS/DSIL's car isn't dead after all. She's merely in ICU waiting for a new water pump when the parts get there on Thursday next week. Woohoo!

Gues s what , guess what ?... There was a knock at my door a little while ago while I was eating dinner. It's pitch dark so I ignored it...but it became more and more instant.. so I opened it , and it was my neighbour , standing there in his dressing gown.. nice sight a 43 year old in his dressing gown lol.. and he had my ''stolen' package in his hand .

Apparently the Amazon driver put it on the doorstep then knocked next door and they took it in... so it wasn't stolen after all... Yeaahhh ! (y)

@Jules It's for hot pineapple...a mixture of sharp cheddar cheese and crushed pineapple. Sounds 🤢 but it's really good! We're having ham. Ham and pineapple go nicely together.

It's a difficult time of year for some of us, myself included,:confused:
but I am trying my best.
I am thankful for what I do have, so that helps.

Focusing on small things to keep busy with. Hand-washed 2 p.j. tops in a small container. It's the only way I can do it, and no larger amount can I do, but I feel proud to undertake and accomplish that. They are hang-drying in the tub. (above it:LOL:)

Taking care of kitty, today,
and helping and encouraging DH. We've both had a rough year, but we are both amazingly, still here.

Thinking of all of you, and very thankful for you.
I noticed that I joined SF, before the holidays, 5 years ago; that is, if I remember the number correctly after having looked five minutes ago.;):giggle:

*****
(I am editting to say, OOPS! It was 4 years ago, not 5, but I am thankful for you anyway, and that was the more important part) ☺️

If you can find a small toilet plunger in a $ store, it makes it easier. I soak light clothes in the small bin, plunge a bit, drain and plunge the soak water. Just tip the water to drain and then roll the clothes in a towel or two.

You’re right to focus on the little things. In spite of everything, you’re managing to see the good.

On my early walk this morning around 6:15 went to buy the local paper, cloudy temps in the 40's
I walked to/from my church this morning for our 10:30 service, surprised how many people were there
There are 2 more church services today, one at 5pm for families, the other Lessons&Carol's starts at 10:45pm.
Marcia called me around 2pm this afternoon, all of a sudden I heard Tage aka 'buddy boy' barking. She told me since he recognizes my voice, he started looking out the living rm window for me. I'll be walking over to their house around 5:45 having Xmas eve dinner with her, hubby Dave, son Alexei. They are my 'Buffalo family'

Fascinating tips, Jules, and thank you very much for the comment.

@CinnamonSugar, @Jules It's a Southern thing, I think. When we lived Up North, I brought it to a family picnic, and there was a great hue and cry when it was all gone. I knew they'd all want the recipe so printed out a dozen copies and took it along to the picnic.
