I have a terrible problem. I don't feel bonded to my cats. Have thought of returning them to shelter they came from. Sometimes I don't even like these two at all. They don't smell right. Nails grow too fast, I'm constantly injured. They can be aggressive in their "affection" and I wind up with skin cuts & rashes. Not sure I even like how they look.

Sorry to hear that Pepper. Sometimes when you get two together like that they bond to each other and not to you. If you do take them back and get another, try getting one first and bond with that one for six months or so before getting a 2nd one (or just stick with one). I don't think they necessarily need a partner if you have time for him. Or one older cat who is all done with the "crazy kitten disease" if you know what I mean. Calmer.

Uh... Well that may have been me. Sorry, Hawk. My eyes popped open at 2:23 and by 3:30 I concluded it was ridiculous staring into the dark any longer, so I made coffee. Didn't mean to wake ya... wanna cup? :coffee:

As for my day... no idea yet, but I'll think of something after the sun rises, I'm sure. 🌞 @hawkdon
weirdly I had a real problem staying asleep last night. I was very frustrated with it, I kept thinking that something is telling me I need to wake early, which is sometimes the case, if for example an unexpected visitor or a delivery is arriving.. ... it seemed it was so insistent that I didn't sleep more than 3 hours... but there was no reason for me to be awake early at all as it transpired..

Good morning, Cybercitizens. Wudju believe that I slept the sleep of the innocent and didn't get up until just before 7? Truth! And Maggie allowed it. Good kitty🐱

@hollydolly It was 40 years ago when I was in Bournemouth, and what I remember was wall-to-wall people lying on the beach with reflector thingies held up to their chins...to tan their faces, I guess. And I remember the rows of tiny little "cottages." It was 'splained to me that some folks owned theirs, some rented for the day, and used them to change clothes and/or store their lunches and drinks.

So. Today could be the day that the road to you-know-where keeps getting paved by me. The intention is that sometime today DD will take me by the doc's place for a BP check. There's a Goodwill store close to the doc's office, and DD has stuff in the back of her car that she's been forgetting to drop off since forever...like before Christmas! I'd also like to finally blue my hair. We'll see how far I get.

Right now it's still overcast, but the weathernerds have promised sunshine by mid-morning. We'll see how far that gets, too.

I was upset last night about this weird dream and aftermath. I dreamed I asked my husband to come lie down next to me. He did. I woke up and for about 1 or 2 minutes, while I was still groggy, I forgot he was no longer here any more. I thought he was still alive. That has never happened before. I usually know immediately that he is gone.

hahahaha... little cottages.... Gigi...

yes I suppose 40 years ago, cheap flights abroad weren't quite the thing as they have been the last 30 years ..

I got a text from the hospital yesterday saying I have an appointment for an Ultrasound scan on the 11th of February... I thought it was a scam because the 11th is a Sunday... and I hadn't received a letter... but this morning the letter arrived.. so it looks like they're doing outpatient appointments now on Sundays..

So sorry you had to go through this, @birdy

Birdy, I have also had those dreams, kind of jarring, but it is
real......Bless you.....

It took a while for me to not wake up in the middle of the night or first thing in the morning and remember that DH wasn't there anymore. Jarring when it happened:cry:

@hollydolly Yeah. Those. The prices, though! OMG. You'd think that people who could afford one, could also afford to just buy a whole house close to the beach and walk over. Or have a pool.

So far, I'm on track, and the road hasn't been paved further. Now to get at the hair...

Abdominal ultrasound. It pokes around peeking at the aorta, liver, etc.

An abdominal ultrasound is a medical imaging test that uses sound waves to see inside the belly (abdomen) area. It's the preferred screening test for an abdominal aortic aneurysm. However, the test may be used to diagnose or rule out many other health conditions.

An abdominal aortic aneurysm, or aortic aneurysm, is an enlarged area in the lower part of the body's main artery (aorta). Health care providers recommend an abdominal ultrasound to screen for an aortic aneurysm in men ages 65 to 75 who smoke or used to smoke. Such screening isn't recommended for people who've never smoked. But it may be done if you have symptoms or a family history of an aortic aneurysm.

In my case it turns out that my Medicare Advantage provider wants the test and pays 100%.

Okay, then! Tidying up has been done, breakfast eaten, litter box cleaned, bed made, laundry started, and hair blued. I even remember to call Sir and give him a list of stuff to order this morning for tomorrow night's truck.

DD wants to leave in 30 minutes to run her errands and take me by the doc's office.

The road to he🏒🏒 is still just gravel;) Hope I don't break my arm patting myself on the back.

I love those!

Going to my credit union to deposit yesterdays winnings. The pic on the left has all the info the IRS asks for when showing gambling winnings.
