Well, @hollydolly, it's a good thing that your day wasn't a total waste;).

Funny about the first truly warm spring day. It feels hot 🥵 when it's in March. Really. 80 in July? I'd be grateful for a "cool" day.

Snapdragons are planted in between clusters of ornamental blue fescue. The lavender stayed in the pot it came in, and I dug a hole for the pot and all just to see how it does. If it looks like it'll stay healthy and strong, I'll make a permanent spot for it. Lavender hasn't liked me in the past.

I dug up a whole bunch of weeds. It's supposed to rain tomorrow so there will be more mocking me on Saturday.

Lost track of time, came in to cool off and discovered that it was after 2. A nap kept calling me until I remembered that there were clothes in the dryer. Drat.
that happens to me as well..I'll realise just when I was thinking I'll have 40 winks.. to remember the dryer is on....won't be the first time, I've turned it off mid cycle so I could sleep .

I did my laundry last night, so it's all washed dried and put away...

A few pictures from our morning walk, some from our garden: Spring is coming, mouthwatering avocados hanging
in the trees, but the Santa Ana Winds are blowing like crazy. Only a video could show how the trees are bending.
The poor little bird (a dove?) had difficulties keeping its balance in the blowing wind and finally flew off.

~Early a.m. I did some accounting for my son and me.

~Rearranged items in the storage closet to fit new stock. That led me to...

~Reorganizing and re-boxing some items in the storage closet. I managed to get rid of a good sized box, which freed up space. I also labeled some boxes.

~Wrapped the little cups that came with my tea set in packaging paper and put them away along with the tray that came with the set. My cousin had brought the set for me from Saudi Arabia years ago when he took Hajj.

~Got the greeting cards for my cousin and my BFF ready to be mailed (of course I wrote personal notes in each) then walked to the post office.

I didn't think I'd get much sleep after the 15 hour sleep, but nope. I slept for another 7 1/2 hours last night. So happy about that. I got up to my neighbor playing music in his house, loud enough for me to be annoyed but not loud enough to call the police.

Then I realized I forgot to pay my cell phone payment because my phone was dead. I didn't notice because I mostly use wifi for everything except actual calls, and I only use it to call one person. I usually pay 2 months in advance through a gift card. It took just a few minutes to get it up and going, but it still threw me off for the day.

As the day wore on, I felt more stressed. By the end, I was feeling pretty badly. I did a search on youtube and found an exercise on calming. It was simply closing my eyes more slowly. That helped some, then I did a few more relaxation things. It took a while to feel better.

Good morning. My eyes are open, and I've had coffee but not feeling awake. An hour from now I'll be up to my armpits in bread dough. Maybe by then I'll be awake?

We're supposed to get rain around the time I get off work, and it's gonna rain all day. My new flowers will be happy. Four more days until spring!

Spring storms down here.

Our new lounge suite is being delivered today. That will be fun. I had to take the lounge door off and take the pictures down off the wall to make it possible to get the current sofa in. Hopefully it will not be so hard to take the old suite away and get the new smaller one in. It's a fairly classic style, upholstered in brown leather.

Unfortunately, it's cold and raining today, so I hope the new suite is well protected from the weather.

Groan... another bill. This year's council tax (that's the charge for council provided utilities like refuse collection, road maintenance etc.) has gone up by £13 a month - that's now £1760 a year including unmetered water supply and sewerage disposal. We get a better service than many areas, but it's getting less year on year in spite of the cost increase.

i wish I had your council Tax Capt... I know it's still high of course ..far too high for what we actually receive..

We don't get water included in ours that's a separate bill, which I just got this last week.. and with a single ( lone person) discount.. mine is still almost £400 for the year..

My council tax goes up on the 1st of April to.. £2,751.77 :(

Well..it was raining when I got up at 8.00am.... thought I'd make sure I was up and about ready for the delivery of my wayward Scottish food .. and I'd been showered and dressed before I looked at my email and saw that DPD had delivered the food parcel an hour before and left it on the doorstep.... fortunately at the time it was raining, and not in full sun.. but I was not happy. I mailed the Butchers directly , and told them what had happened so they can address this with the company. Leaving fresh meat on the doorstep is a big No-no.. especially when they were already a day late..

Sunny now.

Good HollyDolly, you contacted them- that happened to me once, it was frozen food and left in the sun, at bottom of my deck and starting to thaw but it was still edible. I am glad I have the USPS alert now- when they deliver a package they send me an email and a photo of it on my deck.

Today I don't have to get in the car and go anywhere-Yippee! I can get some housework done, and maybe make a cake. It is raining out and might only reach 50 degrees today.

I am in a coffee Klatch club at a library about 8 miles away and wanted to try to make the meeting yesterday but I was exhausted from Wednesday. Appt with my urologist, and then shopping for food, and got many things done here on my list-

and due to so many other things I had not been to a meeting for over a month- but I went and had a great time. Most of the people are seniors and I was surprised to see a woman in her late 80s, there ,because she had been Very sick. She looked GREAT!!!!! We have a mutual friend who lost her sister to cancer two weeks ago, and I told the women that, and then about 10 minutes later our mutual friend came in to the meeting-
and I don't know if she had ever been to the coffee klatch before. It seemed like Dejavu.

There are probably an equal amount of men and women , and we talk about books we are reading, food, and trips we have taken, and the national news, but yesterday we seemed to talk about medical issues a lot-I was glad I went because as I get older I find I don't have much time outside of my church ,to really socialize too much with other seniors, and us seniors have a lot of wisdom to share!

Plus many of them bring baked goodies to the weekly meeting and I usually contribute to the coffee fund.

My husband is 'under the weather' which is unusual for him.
He was up most of the night going to the bathroom.

We talked about what he must have eaten or got exposed to.

I came downstairs & read about his problem,, told him what I had found.
Made him bowl of cream of wheat which he ate.

Now he & the dog are asleep on the couch.
Hopefully he is on then mend.

I'm sitting here nodding off & on.
Maybe I should take a nap, also?

I'm hoping it was in safe packaging?

TBH it's not really in as safe packaging as the Butcher led me to believe when I spoke to him. he said that their packaging was like a home fridge in temperature.. so I was expecting the box to be thoroughly lagged, but it was just a cardboard box with some chill thermal type lining..

Hi, kids. Granny's home🏘️

Yanno, @jet never did say whether I could go along on his hols. Looks like he only wants @hollydolly. But don't worry about me. I'll be fine. Sad, but fine:(

As warned, it's raining cats and dogs. Of course, it didn't start until I walked out the door at work.

Today's plan? I'm gonna sit around on my dead center and watch mind-expanding TV.
