Just returned from cardiologist/surgeon. I have no circulation at all in left leg which is one reason why I'm in agony. So far scheduled for stent surgery March 29. At least it's not purely psychosomatic which has been suggested to me. It's real.
Glad you can take comfort in having a scheduled solution in front of you rather than the doctors either scratching their heads in consternation or worse, knowing what it is but saying there's nothing they can do.

My mother had white hair since her 50s and constantly got compliments on it.

My hubby has dyed his hair for years. His sister recently underwent chemotherapy for breast cancer and lost her hair. To support her, he has stopped dying his hair and it is a beautiful thick gray/white color.

This is my mother at 87, with my hubby.

Your mom looks great. So dos your hubby. I will be 87 next month.

Don't feel well today (migraine) but I have managed to clean out the fridge for trash day tommorrow. Wipe down the shelves so I will have space to store some batch cooking for the week. No, I am not going to cook today, just easy veggie dinner from leftovers.

I hand washed the dishes and the few new things I picked up at the dollar store yesterday. I got some aluminum pans to have handy. They are great for making casseroles in smaller sizes for the freezer or to share with the kids. Also picked up some new cooking tools, spatulas, etc. I also got 3 metal loaf pans for making bread. They are on the smaller size so the loafs are just right for me. My recipe will make 3 loafs, keep one out and freeze 2. I was hoping to get a chain for my new glasses when I get them. They did not seem sturdy enough.

Picked up a heavy plastic container with a lid for my side table in the den. I will put everything in there at night to try and help with the big dog taking things. He has eaten way too many pair of glasses, remotes, etc.

I still have to go in to cut and store the meat I bought yesterday. The kitchen is nice and clean for that activity. I just need to decide what I want to keep out to cook this week. I did pick up the ingredients at Walmart to make a banana pudding for dessert for the week. The bananas should be ripe the next day or two.

Have a wonderful evening.

Today I accomplished the completion of my DIY project of plumbing & setting up of the water softener I bought recently.
Water softeners don't filter so I plumbed a filter ahead of the inlet line for the water softener. Plumbed the regeneration & tank overflow lines. No leaks anywhere. Set the controls & tested the system. According to the manufacturers test procedures the system is working as it should.

Don't know what my wife will want next but whatever it is I'll be happy to do whatever she wants.

My Mom surprised me this morning when she called and asked if I wanted to go to Wal-Mart with her. Going to Wal-Mart with my Mom is not exactly fun, but I love spending time with her.....so I said yes.

Surprisingly, Dio said that he would go, too. He hasn't done that in quite a few years.

Anyway, shopping with my Mom is worse than herding cats!!! LOL 😂. Now I'm tired. But we did have a good time! 💖💕💖💕💖

I got myself back in the kitchen and made short work of all the beef I bought yesterday. Cut one for a roast, cut some into thin slices for swiss steak, smothered steak, chicken fried steak. I was cutting some of the roast into little pieces so decided to just throw some in the pan to cook for the week. Who knows what it will be used for, stew, stroganoff, beef tips.

I at least I made some head way in jobs that needed to be done today.

Last week I rang the bank to ask if they could print off a years' worth of transactions for me . They said they could but it would take up to 10 days. Thinking I might need them immediately I decided to print off my own at home..and I did.. but told the bank to go ahead and print them, quietly thinking to myself that if my printer ran out of ink I'd have a back up..

Today the post arrived from the bank... One sheet of paper.. with ONE Month's ( feb) transactions... 'sigh'...good thing my printer didn't let me down..

@Blessed, do you have a top quality knife and sharpening tool?
I do have many knives that are high quality. Few my husband bought as gifts. Yes, yes, I know some ladies don't like gifts for the house but I loved it. I also have my Moms that came to me when she lived here. A few from a family friends estate. The one thing I do need is a new knife sharpener. I do have a honing rod but I am not that comfortable with it. My hands are not strong, I am afraid if I slip I could hurt myself.

If anyone knows of a great one that’s easy to use, I’d sure be interested.
I am looking on Amazon for one, I will let you know if I like it. I was also looking at knifes, specifically a cleaver. I watch a lot of asians cooking shows and it seems they are very versatile and easy to use for a lot of jobs. I don't have one of those and thought it might be nice to have one.

I think the quality in those knives is because of the amazing skills of those chefs. A fellow I knew bought a very expensive set after a cooking class. Somehow, they just weren’t the same. 😀

~Had to dig out and replenish various items from our supply stashes which involved a little bending and reaching.

~Did the last of the laundry loads slated for my mini washer….more bending as well as lifting and twisting. Point is, just doing laundry using those machines provides me with enough exercise. :) At least now I’m closer to being caught up. I probably won’t do laundry in the house again for a month. Next week it’s supposed to rain almost every day so I plan to get at least one double load done downstairs this week.

~My son and I had joint eye appointments with our specialist today. Walked into a packed waiting room(s). We were supposed to have visual field tests but one of the machines was broken and they were backed up. She rescheduled the test for next time (3 months) but we were still there for three hours. Both our exams were good. Here are pictures of the waiting areas (catercorner from one another); both were full. There's additional seating (not shown in these shots) facing right in each area. The photos were taken during COVID. This is an eye group that may have two or three doctors and several techs on duty.
