For years I avoided Amazon Prime membership (just waited until I had enough in my cart to qualify for free shipping), but at some point I signed up (intentionally) (I think maybe I got used to the convenience of it after my mom died and I "inherited" --via finding her passwords-- her prime account).
Now I am getting plenty of value from it (free shipping, free photo storage, free prime-video TV) so I like it, BUT, I'm constantly being almost tricked into signing up for their Amazon Audible subscription. I hate that they don't let a person just buy only one audible book. But I found a workaround (don't remember if it was from someone on this board or thru an Internet search) where if I buy a Kindle version then I get offered a discounted price to add the audible version, without having to subscribe to Audible. That has been working well, especially since sometimes I get lucky and the Kindle version is on sale for $1.99.
