Have You Noticed How Time Flies When You Are On Your Computer?

Here it is 9:30 AM Saturday morning and three hours have disappeared since my getting up at 6AM & having my first cup of coffee as I launch onto the net. Enough of this, it's time for a shower & breakfast.
The rest of the day? Who Knows? What the hell, I'm retired and will play it by ear.

Thankfully, yes. After losing my wife, the nights have become incredibly long. I have an old computer game that I play. Not a shoot'um up. An empire building theme. I play it at max speed in real time, and it keeps my mind "sharp". Lol! I was without it for a while, and was getting into the habit of a drink or two every night to get me through. Not a good idea.
My grandkids came over, and managed to fix my games, so I'm back in business. The Senior Forum is a big help as well.
Figuring out how to disagree with someone without hurting them or starting an argument can consume a chunk of time.

I have indeed. I now have a fifteen minute timer next to my keyboard and every time timer goes off I have to stand up, do some stretches, walk around the room and ask myself if I might be otherwise occupied.

A great idea Josiah, I should do the same, I seem to become glued to my chair with my coffee or drink and there goes the day. I need to go and clean my bathroom and now is the time to do it.

Time does fly when I'm on my computer, but thankfully there are no flies on it, nor on me.

An excellent idea, Josiah. Sitting too long in one session is not great for your legs.

I am back after taking a stretch to go down stairs and sit by the pool with another cup of coffee, but alas it's already 91F and muggy, and will hit 104 today with even hotter weather forecast, so my third floor air conditioned apartment looks like the best option for the rest of the day with occasional hikes down the stairs to stretch and a swim tonight after dinner.

Wow, that is hot, Lon. We have rain rain rain here today but mild enough to keep windows and balcony door open. A good day for indoor activities, maybe a games night with some friends, beer and snacks. Must go and make the hummus.

Oh yes time sure does zoom by when you sit down at the computer. I get on here and look at my mails , then the news, then SF, then perhaps research something...maybe look into another forum or 2 and OH MY God:magnify: time has flown by.. It's particularly so in the evening when I get home from work ( like now)...I have to come in get the chores done, shower and get dinner before I even look at the computer..otherwise it would be bedtime before I could blink.. :D

Time's been flying faster and faster since I'm older, and computer time goes in the blink of an eye. Hot and sunny here today, just got in from mowing the lawn/weeds for a couple of hours. :chores:

I used to get up in the morn, have two coffee sitting at the computer, then I would go back to bed for a little nap, back to the computer, back for another nap, eat something, back to the computer................................................................It got to be such an addiction that I didn't have a life at all. One day I decided to drink my coffee and accomplish a few things to start my day. It was the best decision I ever made. Now I have a life. I don't have a man though. I tried a couple, but they spent all their spare time at the computer.:love_heart:

So true that time can get away from you when you’re online. Sometimes I’ll take a break from chores, etc…..just gonna answer a few emails…..just gonna look in at my favorite sites….then, it’s 2 or 3 hrs later.

Good cartoon!

To answer the original question, yes, I think computers gobble up more time than anything else I can think of! Part of the reason is the constant popups that entice you away from the original thing you were looking for.
