That's a great idea! I didn't know it was a thing. I've made a couple quilt tops in the past. Backing them with fleece would make them so much more useful.

If you don't mind my asking, what kind did you get? When I was in the 6th grade, my mom bought me a Bernina. I loved that machine. Many years later as an adult, I bought a New Home/Janome that has an automatic embroidery feature on it. I've done a lot of sewing on both of those machines, but none in quite a while.
I got a Singer Heavy Duty 44S. I started with with Singer 40 years ago and wore it out. I started using a Necchi handed down to me. Necchi is good except for the year I had. It was an 1980's model. 🙄
Anyway I got some use out of it but I am well pleased with the Singer.
I looked at Janome and Brother. I think it's a preference.

GG, I don’t blame you for wanting to leave your job. That’s terrible to blame you for things that aren’t your responsibility. Ugh!!
I know @Georgiagranny . I didn't mean to dismiss that part and I don't mean you should lay down and take it.
I'm sure you thought, "yeah, right, hearlady, I'm gonna just lay down for it." 😁
Just trying to help you through with minimum damage to the company. 😊

I rarely plan much for much each day and if I do, I usually accomplish less. Sad - but it is what it is. We did make the 60 mile round trip to my wife's eye doc, for a scheduled visit and had lunch at a favorite restaurant. Drives of that length have become tiring at my age (90) and only having the one good eye.
If there's a good meal involved I can make the trip but I don't know if I will at 90!

Not that I want just one good eye if you understand what I mean, but if I can be as mobile as you, Dave.. when or if I get to 90 years old..I'll be over the moon. I think you're an inspiration to us all...

A very dreary rainy day here- and I have to get gas and a few things at the local Dollar store- and I am hoping the rain does not mess up the Masters-

Here is Tiger's tee times-
But that could change.

Thursday: 1:24 p.m. ET

Friday: 10:18 a.m. ET

Round One is supposed to start at 8:30 AM but that has just been changed to 9:30 AM and here is weather statement:

"Hourly Weather-Augusta, GA

Gloomy and wet here after a few fairly sunny days. But I'll plug away at the mundane: pay some bills, pick up prescription refills, tackle the email monster, and general housekeeping. Grandson's birthday party Saturday afternoon and I can finish some wrapping today, so there's a brighter ray through the gloom at least.

Time to get into the cleaning mood. "Alexa, play Bossa Nova everywhere."

Coffee!!!! I need it now, and lots of it!!

It's going to be another busy one, folks! First I'm taking Mom to the doctor to (finally!!!) get her knees checked. I'm hoping that he gives her a shot or two and she'll feel like going dancing!

After that, we will meet Dio at the gym, and then we will take Mom out to dinner for her birthday....she will be 92 tomorrow!!!!

After dinner, we will split up. I think my Mom will just go home, but we have a long Wal-Mart list that needs to be taken care of. And of course, putting everything way when you get home.

It's going to be a long day!!

I have at this moment a tall dark and handsome young man in my kitchen.
My Dishwasher gave up the ghost weeks ago and they are finally replacing...not with a new on...with one from a vacant apartment already seven years old. Not happy about that but if it works that is fine.
Management probably thinks this old lady is ready to pop her clogs any time but we will see ...uhuh!!!

Ok..I'm back, it's been a glorious sunny warm day today.☀️☀️

Everywhere was busy, tried to go and take some pics of the park after I came out from having my medical exam, but the park was packed, and also they'd closed off the road half way so there was nowhere to park... people were double parking on the road just to go the park, how Nuts!!🙈

Anyway I had my bloods drawn.. and a whole medical... height, weight, cholesterol levels..etc.... this was all done in a Mobile wagon, the type they usually use for Breast screening all around the country.

In the UK not sure about anywhere else, these huge mobile units travel all around, usually parking in Supermarket car parks... but today this Unit was a little different .. unlike the X-ray units... this had several little examination rooms.. and a reception area. Superbly equipped, I was very impressed..

I let my pups out at sunrise to do their business. Little did I know that my girl would chase a stray cat up the tree. I actually leave food out for strays to encourage them to catch gophers in our garden.

How can you stop dogs from chasing cats? Well, I succeeded once, namely three years ago.

While working in the garden, I noticed a calico cat that wasn't as shy as strays usually are. With milk and Hamburger meat, I gained her trust, and she eventually settled down in my room. With some patience, I got my dogs not only to tolerate a catty companion, but they actually became friends.

Well, I didn't know that I had adopted a pregnant kitty, a kitty that was looking for a safe place to give birth to her litter. This happened on April 11, 2021 under my bed. I and my dogs played the role of sort of a midwife. Actually, we were all excited about this event. But after a month living with a half dozen cats and two dogs in my bedroom, the excitement wore thin. Being in my mid-eighties, I was glad when a friend of my daughter adopted the whole bunch a month later.

Hello again, everyone, and thanks so much for the support you all gave, for my most recent post here. I appreciate it. It makes a difference to me.🥰☺️

Today I managed to get to a long difficult meeting over finances and apartment, etc, which is difficult for me with my disabilities, to simply get to anyplace and to any appointment:

and then add on that the subject of this one was stressful;
and then, halfway thru it, they made a delay, for an hour!!!!

After which, they said they could not do the 2nd half of the appointment, at all today!😱🤯😳😫
And that we'd therefore have to come back for another seperate appointment, 😱😵😬😖
And that one will be scheduled for sometime next week, (they couldn't say when😳)
even though we already have a serious medical procedure, scheduled for next week,
which I'd already informed them!😖🫣😬😮😵

One of my brilliant statements that I came out with spontaneously, to say to them, at that point was:
(drumroll, please)
The surgeon does not reschedule!

Btw, this full appointment that was supposed to be completed today, is required in order for us to keep renting our same apartment as of May 1st. 😱
Have they not heard that STRESSS is bad for people?!!!
😟

Oh thank you, each one of you. I dont usually vent like this, as you all know.
I am doing okay now, and I feel glad that today's part was actually accomplished.
Along with taking care of DH, and I used a new cushion I'd recently bought, which helped me in car and with rollator,
as my wheelchair is too difficult for dh to manage, now.

Whew, we're okay and will soldier on.

Thanks again!
Kaila

@Kaila my best wishes for you in these stressful times. Keep with your surgeons plans for you. Prayers for your rental are offered for you. Stay brave.

BTW, I loved your brilliant statement to them:
"The surgeon does not reschedule!"

I rotated stock and replenished Deja's food supply in the kitchen cabinet. While I was at it, i gathered the food she's stopped eating and put the cans and containers into a box to be donated to a shelter. All of that required a bit of bending. Then I chased "Her Naughtiness" around the room after she started bugging me. I was feeling so off kilter yesterday, I never could have done those things. Glad that I felt back to normal. though my son would dispute that I'm "normal"!

Tonight I danced while cleaning up the kitchen. slept for about 3 hours after eating dinner and am just getting on the computer. Once again...began posting about 11:45 p.m. and I'll be up for at least a couple more hours before taking a nap. I'll be on here a little bit longer but Good Night and...
