Morning all folks!!!! Been up since 4am, just not able to break
this habit..ah well...yesterday was a so-so day hoping for
better today....no big plans, just a few little chores to do...
It is 54f now and going into 80's later today, with chance of rain
again...keeps this rain going I'll be fighting the ants, happens
almost every year this way....allergies keeping me inside and
I don't like it....but cain't do anything about it....just accept
and go with the flow !!!! Have a great day peeps!!!!:p:coffee:

You probably hear this all the time ; you’re such a great mother, grandmother. Your nurturing abilities are outstanding. You are so caring and attentive to your family. They always come first for you. I hope you get spoiled silly on Mothers Day. You ‘really’ deserve it.
Thank you for your kind words, but believe me when I tell you I could have better, more patient mother. Parenting adult children and grandparenting their kids provide fresh opportunities and I make sure to not squander them.

My family comes first; you're right about that. I'm beyond blessed to have them in my life.

@hawkdon, can't you take allergy medications, or get allergy shots?

Morning all......Good to read everyone's post this morning. The sun will shine brightly and temperature will be in the upper 80's so maybe the ground will dry out some today. I have a busy day today, an appointment at the nail salon, grocery shopping and lunch out. Received my renewal homeowner's insurance policy yesterday, premium went up $800, so I'll go through the dreaded yearly game of getting the cost down with my agent....Insurance is at the top of the 'I hate to deal with' list.

That’s right!
Take antihistamines!

Yesterday took the wind out of my sails. I wound up at the rehab place twice and at the ER twice. It took 6 hours to get an ambulance company to pick up my mom to go back to rehab. I got home around 11pm. Today I will try to catch up on all the laundry, dishes, bill paying that needs to be done. Maybe I will try to do a little retail therapy, lol.

OMG Birdy. what a rotten day you and your mum had yesterday, I hope everything is all settled now .... 🤗

It's overcast here this morning.

Hubby hauling gravel to his brother's & one other person.
I should be doing something while he is away.

So answered an email,, thinking I should end one to my cousin.
Haven't had a recent on from hm.

Hubby mowed the lawn yesterday,,makes my flower beds look wild with grass & weeds.
I would like to get that area cleaned & replanted to things that don't need much work.

Guess when the Forget me Knots go to seed,, I'll spread them over there.
Probably going to have to spray to kill the grass.

You all have a great day.

It's been a beautiful day today ( 2.30pm now).... but the humidity was so high, I felt sick for a while after I'd been out mowing the lawns.... really nauseous, and really exhausted.. ... anyway... after I'd mowed, and put everything away, I drove over to the next large town to do the grocery shopping at the major supermarket.. I was going to go down to the lake after I'd got the shopping but some rain laden clouds came over so I didn't bother.. and just came home...

In the Post office it was soo hot, everyone was complaining, and someone demanded the AC be turned on, but the poor woman working behind the counter who was hot as could be, said that the AC had been broken for days, and she's not permitted to open the door...*phew*🥵

Good morning all! Intentionally got up a little before 5 because TGS is still with us. From the moment he awakens around 7 AM, my time isn't my own.

Not sure if he'll go home today, tomorrow or Thursday. His parents are on the mend, but are now dealing with the fallout and catching up from DS being sick for five days. He'll WFH again today but needs to be in the office for some meetings on Weds.

We're having a spell of lovely weather, especially in the mornings. Afternoons are bright, sunny and warm: 80° this afternoon, so less comfortable for anything more strenuous than a walk.

I've been home for about an hour but had a cup of coffee on the patio...in the rain because I could. I love the new patio umbrella. It keeps the sun and the rain off me.

@OneEyedDiva Stop by the store about 6; they're all baked, cooled and packaged by 6. Usually ;)

@birdy Six hours for an ambulance? Good grief! For that long wait, they shouldn't even be allowed to charge for it!

No plan for today. Can't play in the dirt because of the rain🌧️:(. Maybe just mindless TV and solitaire.

Talia has a 6 month veterinary appointment this morning for her inflammatory bowel disease. Poor Talia, it's a nightmare getting a hold of her because she knows something is up. Then some stupid work meeting at 2pm. If it isn't cancelled, sometimes they are. They have this group meet app thing I'm not on.

Got going early, started laundry and went out to saw up the larger branches gathered last week. Some lengths are ready for the firepit, others are green and will need to dry and season first. Laundry done I took a walk and then swept up the sawdust and tree droppings on the patio. Still have tulips, and the Lily of the Valley are shooting up and have spread to replace other ground cover at the NE corner of the house. Out back a patch of Tiger Lily is shooting up.

Are you not on it because you can't work the app, or is it some other reason?

Another unproductive day. Went to my first PT appointment for leg pain. After a lengthy interview (of things I had already mentioned in my admission report), she had me do some motions. Then I laid on a table and she touched me almost everywhere but where the pain was. She spent a lot of time pressing on my left shoulder. I told her that wasn't where it hurt. She said that the nerve in the shoulder is connected to the leg - whatever that means. She wants me to come in twice a week until the end of May.

On the way back from PT I took my string trimmer (Black & Decker 8206) to the local hardware store to get a replacement spool. After an exhaustive online search, the clerk said "They don't make them in that size anymore." He couldn't find any, even on Amazon. I wasn't totally surprised since it's probably nearly 50 years old.

I had the back seat filled with 60 gallon trash bags to drop off at the shopping center donation bins. But when I pulled up to them, they had signs "CLOTHING AND SHOES ONLY". What do I do with electric blankets and window drapes?

At least I made it back home.

Is the spool itself damaged? I assume it isn't as simple as buying bulk string and rewinding it.

we're not allowed to put electric blankets, duvets, pillows etc in donation bins either..we have to take them to the recycle centre...
