Cleaning up and laundry today. Starting to think about what to have Friday. My oldest daughter and , not too new, boyfriend are stopping by for lunch on the way to the beach. We've met him but he's never been here.
I'll probably google, "kicked up sandwiches" and see what I find.
I have been doing that some, like googling "Million Dollar Recipes".
Sometimes you hit a winner.
I also googled " Make ahead desserts and there was a easy blackberry pie that sounds yummy. If you're interested:

Today my bathtub is being delivered so we did an extra good clean up of our house. Not that it was filthy; just vacuumed and dusted so that it looks its best. We will have to put our dogs away so they don’t ……..

We just got a call that our bathtub isn’t being delivered. Someone messed up. It’s not getting delivered until next week but that’s ok. I’m a patient women.

Today I’m going to do some grooming of our dogs.

Soon our lawn will need mowing so we are going to get our lawn mower fixed and purchase a Green Works self propelled 80 volt battery(s). It’s $400 off. That way we will have 2 good self propelled mowers so we can ‘both’ mow the lawn at the same time.

Instead of having hanging baskets of flowers at the front of our house, we have decided to grow strawberries and a variety herbs instead.

You love 9 acres, but would you also love doing the maintenance work? I had 2 1/2 acres, divided them into 4 lots, and recently gave 3 of them to my children because I just couldn't handle the work anymore; ha, ha! Think twice about what you are wishing for.

So many projects to do. Everyone talks about their chores, so let me add mine.

Pups have to be taken care of. Twice a day going for a walk. They love getting groomed. 4-5 times a day a little treat. And if I dare to forget about them, they certainly make me aware of their existence. They are loveable buggers: the girl licks (washes) me about ten times a day. The boys are more restrained. They just keep bumping into me till I take notice. All in all, they keep me busy.

For the last 30 years, I bought only sand-colored cars because you don't see the dust so much. That is, they need far less often to be washed than other colors. Still, it's time to either doing it myself, or spending $8 at a nearby automated carwash. (Toyota Corolla)

And the garden!!! Pruning trees and shredding the branches, cleaning the pond, cutting the weeds, etc. etc. Well, I turned over the work to my kids, and now they start moaning, LOL. Because the ever present wild fire danger, the fire department has set strict rules about what has to be done, like keeping weeds below 4 inches and keeping trees trimmed up to 6 feet high. If you outsource the work, licensed contractors are very expensive (check CSLB-Home -CSLB) and if you hire a cheap unlicensed worker, then you could lose everything you own "if" something happened. There is no insurance to cover yourself.

The hot water heater has to be drained once a year to flush out the accumulated calcium deposits; time to do it again. Because of earthquakes, the water heater has to be tied down.

The pump for the water fountain passed out. I bought a new one but need help to install it.

==> lucky you guys who are living in an apartment and have nothing to worry about; I envy you.

But there is one thing I am sharing with apartment dwellers: going shopping today.
At Walmart: fiber supplements, mouthwash, and Hartz flea & tick spray for the dogs.
At Aldi: Sauerkraut, bread and Kefir.
At Sam’s Club (like Costco): Salsa, ham, and cheese; walking around, I usually end up with buying much more.
At Winco Foods: frozen juice, non-fat milk, and yogurt.
And then I have to look for the shopping list my wife left for me somewhere in the kitchen.

We had to gut this house & start over.
An old lady lived her alone,, don't think her family looked in on her much.

After she passed the grand kids went around punch holes in the rooms, looking for money.

Once remodel was done we started to plan how to use the land that mostly hill side.
State of PA said it was tillable,, must be those folks never lived on a hill side?

We put a strawberry bed in for the boys to take care of,, we all learned lessons from that.

Hubby bought me a horse,,Huh?
I'd had a horse as a youngster,, didn't want another one
Hubby soon learned that said horse required some of my time & $.
So there was an old barn,,"let's board horses, rent out the stalls."
Another HUH?? from me

We still hadn't learned anything about keeping animal within their fence.
Bought up our few cattle from his father's,,, that was a short stay!
Someone took down the fence on the highway!

We did have fair luck raising sweet corn to sell.
Till the critters found the corn patch.

We had better luck planting sweet corn on his folks property.
Too much human action going on there seemed to keep the critters way.
Than his folks passed away & hubby's brother & nephew got the property.

Now hubby mows we have a Large lawn!

Oh no. I wouldn't want the work now. I have enough to do with my yard. 🙂

Over the last 13 days have now driven the 3.7 miles, seven times to our San Jose Municipal Rose Garden that is now at peak spring bloom. Do so early morning on any low breeze mornings in order to Focus Bracket capture. Out of 34 processed images, these 19 are the keepers so far. My new a6700 has made me more productive.

Stressful day. I finally got my security camera. Now to figure out how to set it up, test it and decide where to put it.

The lady from Walmart who delivered it was banging on my door, telling me that she had to hand deliver my phone to me despite the fact that the same lady delivered the exact same model phone to me 2 weeks ago without notifying me at all. The banging added another level of stress.

Then the internet went down, just for a short time, but it wasn't what I needed today.

At the end of the month, I usually spend some time borrowing online library credits so they don't go to waste. I literally ran out of time this month. I was still borrowing at midnight when the credits turned over.

Hope I'm okay today. Woke up 1230am, had half a Xanax, thought I'd fall asleep, but I had the news on in the background and one particular thing was said about Columbia people making the trek up to City College. This sparked remembrance in me; of all the times that trek was made between our two schools, how we would join together often to spontaneously march for peace. So, in my heart I became that teenager again with all the excitement and purpose I once had. It thrilled this old lady so much I couldn't get back to sleep. So, here I am, four hours later, still awake, brimming with some kind of past excitement from one of the lives I led.

I don't know if my heart can stand all the tumult. I'm not that girl anymore, but so glad to see her back in me. She was wonderful...........so eager to learn, to have fun, to BE. On the move constantly, from one adventure to another.

Hope I'm okay today.

Yesterday I accomplished some important things...laundry and grocery shopping. :D I'm glad I got those things done yesterday because today is a rainy day. Another important thing...a long nap is the reason I wound up not posting about them yesterday. I woke up in time to clean the litter box and gather the garbage for my son to set out front before he headed to work. Before sunrise I made my prayers and did some financial stuff. I plan to finish putting away the laundry, reorganize Deja's cat food stash, load and run the dishwasher, clean the bathroom and perhaps straighten up a bit. As my son says "Make a great day everyone".

My son is very involved in my health and he will take me to task for not sleeping last night (well, I did, from 9pm to 1230am.) He won't understand the excitement and memories that wouldn't allow me to get back to sleep. He's really not aware I was a real person once, a different person, and not just ma and grandma.

Good morning friends....made it thru another stormy nite, but
guess what, the storms never did make it to my place...understand there were some tornados, even one death,
