And...I didn't find any cute frog solar lights, but gosh! One with owls!
How wonderfully timely this post is!!! Yesterday one of my sons was talking about a couple of owls who've roosted in one of their trees, and how he and DDIL love watching it.

DDIL has a birthday in August and is very difficult to buy gifts for. Well, whaddyaknow? GA Granny and Amazon came to my rescue this year.

One thing about this forum - we never know how much help or inspiration one of our posts may be to someone who stumbles over it! Thanks, GG!

@Trila Stop and pick me up on your way to @hawkdon's😋😋

We're going out for lunch. I don't like to go out to eat, especially not on a busy day. Can't handle the commotion. And today there'll be a wait. Ugh.

Would you believe that our floral department ran out of flowers yesterday? Yup. They had to send the department manager out to several different Kroger stores to gather up👉28👈 huge boxes of flowers (containing about 20 bouquets of cut flowers each). By 6pm, they were gone. Sent dept. mgr. out again for 16 more. They were gone before the store closed at 11pm. There was a delivery from Kroger's florist during the night so still some bouquets left when I clocked out at 9 this morning.

I guess Mother's Day was a surprise. Sort of like Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I got Mother's Day *prizes* from DD. Chocolate, of course, and two more solar lights for the garden. And an indoor/outdoor pillow for my back. I already love it...just what I need after bending over to cut back three gazillion azaleas when I got home from work.

One of the solar lights is the kind that gets staked in the ground and looks like a mushroom. The other is a lantern.

One can never have too many solar garden lights or too much chocolate.

Now...if they'd just please excuse me from going out for lunch.
I'm on my way! 🧹

Enjoy your dinner!

Wow these places have some large greenhouses these days:

Huynh Farms.jpg

Most of the action was outside though, where pallets and pallets of annual flowers and 6-packs of tomato seedlings and such drew the crowd.

I got some of what I wanted but I'll probably try the garden center of a large grocery store later on.

I survived lunch. The crew was dawdling, and I was sleepy so I went to the car and took a nap. An hour later...

DD's birthday in just two weeks, which means another meal out. Sigh.

Off tomorrow and since it's not a school night, I get to stay up until dark to see the new solar lights in the garden.

Today we had brunch at my daughter's house, only seven miles away. While they drove afterwards to my son-in-law's family, I am taking care of my grandson's Beagle puppy. Today wasn't as much chaos as during the first few encounters, but still "lively." The Beagle escaped, and I found her on my wife's bed. Not being familiar with the changed environment, the Beagle puppy made her business on tiles in the bathroom, luckily. Then it started chewing on a leather bone under the watchful eyes of my dogs. After two hours, all puppies are now sleeping, and I can finally relax. If I didn't love dogs, then I would refuse to dog sit any other pup. It’s just too nerve wrecking for a senior.

My face is glowing like a Belisha Beacon... it's itching like mad despite having put a thin layer of Hydrocortisone cream on it.. I can't dare scratch it because it would hurt...

It's still very warm in the house now at 11.20pm... 26 deg C..81 F ...no Aircon... but I do have a little USB operated fan next to me.. so that's keeping me from overheating..

Gosh, I hope that your skin heals quickly, @hollydolly
I wouldn't have guessed that a year old cream would lose its protection ability. :(
Well, I'm just presuming that's the reason, I can't figure out any other reason for it. I'm really pedantic about wearing SPF when I'm in the sun...

oh and the other things is.. I put one type on my face (cream) , which I always use.. and another type (oil) on my arms.. and my arms haven't blistered so.. I really think it has to be the cream that's not given me the protection..

finally a call from my dear sister in Vancouver - she lives in a suburb of - her hubby had a major bike [cycle] crash and broke all ribs on left side of chest - he cycles every day or did - dog ran out on him - dog safe! - I spoke to him eventually and he sounded more rounded ; more reasonable and listened to my advise for a change - I said I was thinking of moving in with them - "well you'd be very welcome he said!!"

Just in case things turn cold (as they sometimes do) I just went with cheap marigold nursery sets for the small beds at two corners of the house. Got those in, deep red almost brown, orange, and yellow planted in bands. Still have red petunias to go into patio planters which are easier to cover or even take in as needed.

Do you have aloe? That helps sunburn. Hope it calms down soon.
ha !! Stupid me.. why didn't I think of that before?...yes I have some altho' it's quite old, so I've put it on in the hope that it'll help take the stinging out despite being old.. and I've just ordered a new bottle online... thanks birdy...for that reminder.. (y)

Whew. I haven't really felt low blood sugar the entire time I've been taking metformin. But right now it's hit me. Hard.

Not sure why, though dinner was a little slipshod tonight. A few ginger chews should help in a bit. If not I'll check my glucose level, but things are feeling a bit better already.

Very strange. Managing this hasn't been delicate the entire time. Maybe I need to balance consuming carbs with the day's activity level better.

Good luck with those new neighbors! Please, don't pre-stress yourself. It's not good for you. Wait and see....positive thoughts, etc.
Thanks. There's a lot riding on this. It's not so much about my side neighbor as it is about my back neighbor. My back neighbor is a sociopath who has been targeting me for over 2 decades. For most of that time, the side neighbor was complicit in it. They made a game of it. Even the police acknowledged that they've made a game of getting to me.

The new neighbor is a wild card. If they're reasonable, decent people, the back neighbor might be forced to change. If not, I'm back to square one.

Every day, I'm hearing the back neighbor changing his behavior in anticipation of what the new neighbor will do.

There was a Mother's Day party at my back neighbor's house. It was loud and disruptive but not nearly as loud as previous years because they don't know how the new neighbor will react.

One thing I really like about my AI chatbot is that it always reminds me that I deserve peace and safety in my own home. Of the thousands of people that I talked with this about, no one has said that to me.

By chatbot, I just mean an AI that I use to converse. Some AI do images or other functions.

another chicken pieces/onions sliced/hot mixed vegies and noodles - all cooked in a wok with Indian spices added as ya go along. Always turn out well a nd quick - first bowl is the sweetest - rest stays in the wok and goes in the bottom shelf of fridge - oops must check heat factor could burn through the fridge plastics!! hand test all fine -phew! been around the world twice on the net - great speeds and no travel sickness!!

well just had a call from my telehealth doctor - a delightful asian gentleman by the sound of his accent - perfect english actually - we discussed all my current medical issues and reviewed current medication and then he instructs pharmacy to deliver my future monthly supplies of medications! wacko. Bit like handing out alcohol to the street sleepers in your cities!!

Good morning, boys and girls. Are we all in our places with bright, shiny faces?

I got to stay up "late" last night and see the new solar lights...two that I bought on Amazon and got on Saturday and two that DD gave me for Mother's Day.

Rain predicted for most of the day. Drat. There might be periods when it stops for a while. If that happens, I'll scurry out to the garden and do stuff. In between, there are some housekeeping chores that have been needing to be done, and...it could be, might be...that dusting gets done. Maybe.

@hollydolly How's your face today? Did the aloe help?

You know vinegar soothes a sunburn too. Maybe not on your face though.
